Chapter 157: Conquering Seven Cities
Until Yuliya’s shadow completely vanished, the three finally began to pack their things.
“Wow, the Wind God is really nice!”
“Please, it’s just that he doesn’t want our junk. With that high score, he’s probably already looted top-tier gear.”
“Still, the fact that he didn’t take advantage of the chaos is commendable.”
The magic boy, who had been quiet until now, pushed his nonexistent glasses and said, “From today on, I’m a fan of the Wind God.”
“Aren’t you into lolis?”
“Yeah! So that makes the Wind God my idol!”
“‘Hiss~’”
Only then did the other two catch on.
“‘The Wind God is actually a loli?!!’”
Some viewers who liked to monitor the live stream heard their discussion and quickly spread the word.
Before long, the news about the Wind God being a loli was everywhere—talk about going viral!
Yuliya, however, was clueless… well, actually, she didn’t know anything at all. She was just an innocent little loli.
She was on her way to the next city.
Even though she had only rested for ten minutes, thanks to that bizarre dream, she felt like she had been asleep for ages.
Her spirits were soaring!
For the next four cities, Yuliya proceeded just like before.
The difference this time was that she encountered other players far more frequently.
Seeing that three of the seven cities were already lit up and three bosses had been defeated, other players picked up the pace.
More players rushed into the city, diving deeper within.
Yuliya usually avoided them, unless it was another one of those situations where thousands of monsters were drawn in.
In Yellow Leaf City, the unique terrain made it so monsters liked to hide, while players were constantly exposed.
For Yuliya’s Golden Eyes, that was just comedic. She didn’t need to hide; she could see them even when they were hiding!
Easy-peasy!
Blue Sky City was a blend of illusion and reality.
Golden Eyes naturally pierced through illusions.
PASS!
In White Snow City, the temperatures plummeted, constantly applying debuffs. Whereas Black Raven City had a more stealthy vibe, but this debuff was much stronger.
That was a bit of a hassle, but thankfully there were bonfire spots set up by other players—no biggie for exploring!
As for the final boss, it was an ice-themed tank monster. When Yuliya pulled out her bombs, the boss was still roaring.
After one hit, a chunk of its body exploded, and it slumped like a deflated balloon.
Second bomb, third bomb…
With just a handful of bombs, the boss went kaput.
That was probably the easiest boss fight Yuliya had ever experienced.
Finally, Ashen City had no terrain.
It was a city reduced to ashes, much like an endless plain.
Any spot under the ashes could have monsters popping up.
The boss stood alone in the city’s center—super easy to spot.
When Yuliya arrived, a massive brawl was already underway with a ton of players wrestling with the boss.
Faced with this scene, Yuliya decided to sit back and enjoy the show.
It reminded her of the boss battle she had witnessed in Falling Leaf City.
Compared to then, these players were leagues stronger, and without level suppression, the teamwork shone through.
The players appeared to be divided into three major factions and a few smaller ones.
The three major factions were the Huaxia Server group, the M Zone Server group, and the European Server group. The smaller ones comprised various servers and those players who couldn’t unite due to conflicts.
On the surface, the players seemed to be cooperating, but competition was rampant underneath.
For instance, between the three major factions, the boss’s aggro was all over the place.
Sometimes the boss was lunging at a Huaxia player and then suddenly turned to smack a tank from the M Zone.
The European tank had a target locked, but the moment the cooldown was up, it wiped out a key player somewhere else.
If it weren’t for the sheer number of players and the boss not being too strong, they’d fail miserably in this chaotic boss battle.
“Good thing Sister Tong turned off player damage beforehand; otherwise, they would’ve been throwing punches at each other.”
Even without direct combat, there were plenty of quips and obstacles being thrown around.
After watching for a bit, Yuliya lost interest.
This boss wasn’t going to cause trouble; maybe a few players would take a dirt nap during a big AOE phase, but that didn’t faze the massive player group at all.
Thinking about that, she reflected back on her first opponent, Sogriede.
If Sogriede was here and those players fought like this, they’d be in for a world of pain.
The strength of the Ashen City boss was roughly equivalent to the first phase of Sogriede.
Back then, Sogriede still had a pretty high level of intelligence, which made fighting him much trickier.
And the second phase double boss? That would serve these players right, not to mention the third phase.
In the third phase, Sogriede would have no rationality left; his combat power would be much easier to gauge.
Using Sogriede’s third phase as a benchmark, the Ashen City boss’s strength was likely no more than 0.6 Sog.
The other cities, like Wisteria City and Red Maple City, probably ranked around 0.7 Sog.
Yellow Leaf City and Blue Sky City’s bosses relied mostly on terrain, so without that advantage, they were basically around half a Sog.
The White Snow City boss’s actual strength might hit 0.8 Sog, but that came at the cost of mobility—nowhere near Sogriede’s swift and strong combo.
Yuliya found a secluded spot, her black attire blending perfectly with the ground.
She lay there lazily, half-watching the boss fight.
She had nothing better to do.
She wasn’t planning to step in; small exploration spots didn’t pique her interest. Wandering to other cities to pick up scraps felt like a waste of time. Better just to chill.
Time passed, and just as Yuliya was about to doze off again, the boss’s roar jolted her awake.
After the roar, the boss turned to dust and disappeared into the ground.
The boss fight was over.
Yuliya perked up, inching closer to the players’ group.
She began to eavesdrop from a distance, curious about their next moves.
That was also her reason for waiting there for over ten minutes.
The first thing she heard almost made her burst out laughing.
“‘Where’s the Wind?’”
Not just the Huaxia players; even the European players were asking.
Uh, why would I care if I’m here or not?
Then she heard the next line.
“All six other cities are lit. She’s bound to show up here. But her score hasn’t changed for so long; she must be hiding somewhere, watching.”
Absolutely NOT!
She had zero interest in this boss fight, and currently, she was just eavesdropping!
Yuliya tightened her clothing and hid even deeper.
(So begins the third update; I hope everyone supports it!)
