Chapter 184: I’m Here to Help! Roll Out!
The player army took a sharp turn to retreat and successfully exited the Boss zone. Once back in the Inner City area, they hurriedly made their way over here.
If the Wind God ran away, she would definitely be regrouping somewhere around here. If not, then oh well!
However, they didn’t dare dash straight through the Boss zone; they had to take a detour.
Along the way, they encountered troops emerging from the Illusion Forest.
The Huaxia Server team led by Fiery Conflict Across the Sky ended up coming through the Teleportation Array at the Boss’s location in the Illusion Forest, while the other servers saw the map light up and turned back the way they came.
Despite the time differences, they still gathered in the Outer City area and pressed on together.
Right now in Green Shade City, the Outer City area was crawling with little monsters, and the Boss zone was ruled by Bosses, making it rather dangerous. Ironically, the Inner City area, having been cleared out several times, was the safest place to be.
Of course, that’s because they didn’t know the Boss was currently in the Inner City zone.
In the end, nearly all the players who participated in the large exploration and were still alive successfully regrouped and headed towards Yuliya’s location.
Once they were combined, the Green Shade City crew lavished praise on their Illusion Forest brothers.
If it weren’t for their help, the Undead King would have made a real mess of this whole lot of people.
That left the folks from the Illusion Forest exchanging glances, puzzled.
Other than the Huaxia Server, the other three groups practically had their toes in the ground.
What did we even do?
We just strolled around and ended up losing thirty percent of our guys.
Not to mention the Boss, even the elite monsters were a struggle!
The Huaxia Server team fared better, sustaining about ten percent losses, and they wiped out some elite monsters and mini-bosses.
But they hadn’t encountered the big Boss either, so they had no idea what it looked like.
Ultimately, Fiery Conflict Across the Sky reluctantly remarked, “Hey, this has nothing to do with us; we just got dragged along by the big shot.”
His team took a leisurely stroll through the depths of the forest, but thanks to the Boss being dead, the other monsters were a lot weaker; even the strongest ones in the innermost ring had been wiped out, so they really didn’t feel any pressure—just a casual walk.
“So where’s the big shot? She should have shown up ages ago.”
At these words, the others’ expressions froze.
Holy cr*p! A regular exploration Boss can solo it? This is a real big shot!
Yet, this big shot sold them out.
Didn’t even look back as she sold them out.
“Big shot… she might already be dead.”
Fiery Conflict Across the Sky frowned and quickly checked the score leaderboard, noticing that the Wind’s score really hadn’t changed for quite a while.
Could it be she’s really down for the count?
“Is the Boss here really that strong?”
“It’s not just strong; it’s ridiculously OP! Level 40—who’s supposed to take that on? And it’s not just one!”
Everyone chimed in, explaining to the new arrivals.
From the Undead King to the Nightmare God; from the ambushes on the edge of the Boss zone to the forced group teleportations; from being all hyped up and raring to go to an immediate retreat without looking back.
Fiery Conflict Across the Sky sighed. “No point in saying too much now. We need to regroup and head in to check it out.”
After a furious grind in the Illusion Forest, his score skyrocketed, placing him second on the player leaderboard, just a hair’s breadth away from first.
Plus, considering they had a big win in the Illusion Forest while Green Shade City fled in defeat, it was only natural that he took charge over the Huaxia server players.
Leading alongside the other three commanders, even though it was a four-way split for command, Fiery Conflict’s confidence shone through, his voice booming louder than the rest.
“Let’s roll!”
Soon, they spotted signs of intense battle in the distance.
“With this much fighting, the Wind God must have come out and snagged the Boss!”
What to do now?
The Wind God was a must-save; her survival had strategic value.
“Let’s send three hundred elites in behind; the rest fall back a little and wait for more detailed orders!”
There were already thirty thousand players gathered, and moving as one was too cumbersome and too noticeable.
And considering if the Boss really was as terrifying as rumored, sending thirty thousand people in would be like sending them to their doom. Were they going to drag the big army in if things turned south?
Then…
Fiery Conflict looked back at the three hundred who were hiding behind him and tilted his head, “So this is what you meant by the Boss being overpowered?”
Totally overpowered; you mean pushing them down while their health bars barely budged?
From a tanking perspective, it was definitely over the top.
The others were equally baffled.
“Maybe some are even crazier than the Boss…”
Confirming he wasn’t seeing things, they truly saw the little loli in black clothes pushing down the big black-red big sister.
They drew closer, and then took another look.
Holy moly! The Boss got downgraded! Now it’s level 38! No wonder it’s getting stomped!
They exchanged glances and then…
“Charge! Wind God, don’t be scared! I’m here to help!”
“Who does it think it is, messing with us? We’re not just decoration!”
But they seemed to have forgotten one thing.
A level 38 Boss might be weaker than a level 40, but what level are you guys?
In an instant, the fastest few shot past Yuliya, weapons in hand, ready to go.
Yuliya froze and quickly extended her hand, shouting, “No! Be careful! This Boss is pretty strong…”
“Ah—!”
“Thud!”
“Crunch!”
One got cleaved in half, another pierced through, and one beheaded.
In an instant, three turned into white light and began to dissipate.
The Nightmare God frowned in displeasure.
What’s with these bugs?
Fine, the little golden clan girl couldn’t handle it, but now these scummy fish dare to act tough in front of me?
Seeing the first three get wiped out in an instant, the rest immediately hit the brakes.
Fiery Conflict and a few others who hadn’t moved covered their foreheads.
d*mn it! The command hasn’t even been given! Why is everyone rushing in like that?
Who gave you the guts to ignore a level 38 World Boss like it’s nothing?
Looks like the pressure wasn’t enough, or perhaps someone up front was taking all the heat.
Once they didn’t feel the pressure, the players, who were originally awkwardly huddled together, naturally became less unified and started to act recklessly.
And soon enough, the pressure was cranked up to the max.
The Nightmare God surveyed the charging players, lifting its bl**d-red sword.
In the next instant, it appeared before one player, striking down with an unmatched force.
“Fall back!”
After a sharp shout, a sword met the attack, but the collision’s aftershock still sent the player flying.
The Nightmare God didn’t manage to hit its target and turned its attention to another person.
Previously it had looked down on these flies, but now it found more satisfaction in crushing flies than flaunting its authority.
“Golden Nine Styles—Decapitation!”
As the Nightmare God prepared to swing down the sword, it suddenly felt a chill at the back of its neck.
It had no choice but to turn around for defense and was hit back.
Though it knew it could take the hit and recover from the wound, it was a reflexive action.
Yuliya sent the Nightmare God flying, finally finding a moment to shout, “Whatever you all were thinking, get a hundred meters away!”
“Otherwise, life and d*ath are on you!”
