Chapter 261: Troubles
This sudden server update was the first one in nearly three months of game operation, not to mention the last update didn’t even pause for a month-long new event!
Naturally, this sparked widespread discussion among the players.
Unfortunately, there was no detailed update announcement—just one tantalizing clue: a brand new map called Golden City.
Players dove into speculation. This map was set to launch simultaneously across all servers.
In the past, different servers had completely different place names. Now, if everyone was getting the same name, wouldn’t that mean all players were gathering in one place? Just like the last event dungeon!
In other words, this likely indicated a cross-server system.
For the Huaxia Server players, it didn’t mean much—they thought their server was the best! Why bother with cross-server stuff?
But for everyone else, they had been frustrated with the Huaxia Server for ages.
Boom!
Unfortunately, the game was way too tight-lipped; there were no leaks anywhere. If you tried to prod the officials for information, it was the usual—either they went radio silent or performed some Tai Chi maneuver to dodge your questions.
And what about the officials?
Interestingly enough, they were more concerned and anxious about this update than the players themselves.
The moment the update announcement dropped, the Huaxia Server urgently convened a secret meeting.
In the end, they came to a conclusion and issued a new order to their in-game subordinate organization, the “Eastern Dragon” guild:
Drop everything else and head straight for Golden City.
They also gave similar intel to the leaders of other top guilds.
Other countries outside of Huaxia were seen doing the same thing.
Eileen Hilton, also known as Kailona in the game, received a message from the top brass of her guild, the Eagle Clan.
While she didn’t have to comply strictly, she was planning to go to Golden City anyway, and why not give the Eagle Clan some face in the process?
“How interesting. Let’s see if the Huaxia Server really has any skills. Then… Wind, big sister is coming to help you!”
The Wind God was pitiful; he still hadn’t joined a guild and was obviously being ostracized by those little schemers!
Other players’ actions would have to wait until the game opened back up for proper planning. Until the update was complete, no one knew what would happen.
Except for someone who had just logged off the game.
Xu Xiaoya’s consciousness returned just as she was about to take off her helmet.
Suddenly, she felt something soft beneath her.
She nuzzled her head against it; indeed, it was very soft and smelled faintly fragrant.
It was the kind of feeling that made you want to take a bite out of it.
And just like that, she opened her mouth.
But someone pressed her face down!
“Wait! Are you really going to bite it?!”
“Eh?” Xu Xiaoya jolted awake, took off her helmet, and opened her eyes. “Ah! It’s Little Moon! I thought…”
“What did you think? If you bit me, with your strength, you might actually take a chunk out!”
“Haha…” Yuliya awkwardly chuckled, then changed the subject. “What brings Little Moon here?”
“The game’s down for maintenance, and school’s on break, so I thought I’d rush back here!”
Xu Xiaoyue pushed Yuliya back down, resting her head on her lap. “I came back and noticed you seemed a bit unsteady while lying there, so I thought I’d try this to see if it would help.”
“How does it feel?”
Xu Xiaoya lay back down, gently closing her eyes.
“Mmm, it feels really good. Thanks!”
Xu Xiaoyue rhythmically patted her shoulder. “Did something happen?”
“How would Little Moon know?”
Xu Xiaoyue smiled slightly. “Well, I’ve observed Little Yuliya many times. When you’re happy in the game, you’re calm and still. When you’re restless, it’s because something’s bothering you.”
“Eh? Is that true?”
“Others might not know, but you are definitely like that. So, what’s going on? Care to share?”
“I… just feeling a bit down, nothing much.”
“Feeling down, huh?” Xu Xiaoyue tilted her head in thought. “How about this? Big sister will take you out for a feast!”
Xu Xiaoya popped up, raising her hand in excitement. “Yay! Feast time!”
“But I’m the elder sister!”
“Okay, okay! Let’s get ready to go out!”
Xu Xiaoyue took Xu Xiaoya’s hand and headed to a nearby restaurant in the plaza, booking a private room and letting Xu Xiaoya order whatever she wanted.
Xu Xiaoya definitely didn’t have money troubles, while Xu Xiaoyue… was also doing pretty well financially.
Though she wasn’t as rich as Fu Luoli, she still had a stash of hundreds of thousands of gold coins.
The money she earned in the game was saved up—school covered her resources and expenses.
Xu Xiaoyue tried her best to shield Xu Xiaoya’s face and hair, but she still couldn’t hide the cute aura radiating from her, attracting glances from passersby.
She used to love showing off, but now that she actually had something, she realized it was better to quietly build wealth.
Such a cute little sister—the more people looked, the worse it was for them.
But Xu Xiaoya didn’t care one bit; she focused on ordering, waiting for the food, and digging in.
Sure enough, good food was the best way to forget troubles and find the purest joy.
Finally, she finished the enormous feast she had ordered, leaving Xu Xiaoyue across the table with her mouth hanging open.
“Little Moon? Aren’t you full? Want to order more?”
“No, I’m good, but you… aren’t full? Has your stomach evolved again?”
That entire spread was merely a symbolic taste for Xu Xiaoyue, with almost all of it disappearing into Xu Xiaoya’s belly.
Under normal circumstances, it should’ve been enough to fill this big-eater up.
And yet…
Could it be that this was what they meant by turning sorrow into appetite?
“I’d say I’m… about 70-80% full.”
“Then let’s order more!”
“Okay! More food!”
Then Yuliya simply repeated the order she had just placed, and once again, an enormous spread arrived.
Xu Xiaoyue could only twitch slightly at the corners of her mouth.
This is 70% full? Or has it already digested in the past minute?
But she didn’t dare to speak, silently watching.
Well, being able to eat is a blessing.
Finally, Xu Xiaoya cleared the table once more.
She patted her flat little belly with satisfaction and nodded. “That’s enough! I’m full!”
Xu Xiaoyue sighed and smiled. “As long as you’re happy! So, how’s your mood now?”
“Much better.” Xu Xiaoya stretched lazily, leaning back in her chair. “But some things still need to be sorted out.”
“Mmm.”
Xu Xiaoyue replied nonchalantly, waiting for her to continue.
“Little Moon. If there were something you could choose to do or not do…”
“If doing it would bring great rewards but also carried huge risks, while not doing it would keep everything peaceful temporarily, but leave the final outcome uncertain…”
“How would you choose?”
