Chapter 386: A Boring Story
If it weren’t for this, Yuliya would have long since squashed this rambling guy into a pancake.
“Moving helps digestion; can’t argue with that.”
Food goes down quickly; curses flare up quickly too.
Yuliya flashed to Di’s side, pinned him down, then raised her hand to poke his forehead, inspecting him closely.
“Hmm… I see, so that’s how it is. That makes things easier.”
Di struggled vigorously. “b*stard! What do you want?!”
“What do you think? Just like before.”
“No… no! Don’t!”
He trembled, and this time, it was real—the shivers of fear were absolutely palpable.
Yuliya wasn’t in the mood for chitchat anymore.
“First, introduce your Tianyu Society. I’m a bit curious.”
“No… Tian… No way! I can’t say!”
Yuliya furrowed her brow and poked his forehead again. “Speak!”
“Tian… Tianyu Society is an organization that operates in the shadows. It’s composed of twelve Saints beneath the Master, a hundred disciples under the Saints, and even more peripheral members.”
“What’s the purpose of your Tianyu Society? What kind of actions do you usually take?”
“Purpose… purpose…”
Di’s eyes widened, and he looked like he was about to pop, clearly suffering.
Yuliya immediately eased her grip a bit, only to realize she hit a nerve. Prying any deeper might yield unfavorable results.
“Fine then, what actions are you involved in?”
“Currently led by our Saints, the disciples assist in searching for ancient relics across various locations.”
Now that was something he had mentioned earlier! Searching for ancient relics? That overlapped a bit with what I’m up to.
Looks like I might run into this Tianyu Society later on.
After asking a few more questions, Yuliya got the gist of it.
That guy’s previous bluster was indeed just hot air.
The Tianyu Society’s influence wasn’t small, but it wasn’t gigantic either.
Moreover, they were still in a stage of lurking, hiding behind various identities and unable to act brazenly.
In other words, still just rats scuttling in the shadows.
But once these rats crawl out of their sewers, it might cause a severe rat infestation.
Definitely something to watch out for.
As for the situation among their members, strict confidentiality was maintained during gatherings, and they referred to each other by codenames.
The only one Di knew was the eighth Saint, named Rael, and he was legendary-level.
Since this was an organization related to the “Feather God,” Yuliya took note of it, especially considering future encounters.
“Well then, as I mentioned earlier, you old freak should really be heading to hell.”
Yuliya turned to Di, her eyes icy.
Di seemed to sense it, trembling as he awkwardly forced out a few words: “You… can’t… k*ll me.”
Yuliya tilted her head. “Why not?”
“If you k*ll me… that kid… will d*e too.”
That kid? Oh, you mean the original Eber.
“Then let him speak for himself.”
“Wha… what?”
In the midst of Di’s stunned look, Yuliya reached out to grasp his crown chakra, closed her eyes to feel it for a moment, then yanked it outward.
Like playing a game of extraction! Let’s see you possess a body after this!
“Ah—! No—!”
As Di howled in despair, a transparent, slightly pale soul slowly extracted from Eber’s body.
It kept stretching out until it finally broke free, cradled in Yuliya’s hand.
She just held it there and stared.
Souls can only move freely in special environments after detaching from the body.
In other scenarios, it’s like ice melted under the sun, or a person soaked in poison.
It’s a kind of torment, a sort of agony.
Yuliya could see that this soul was currently experiencing endless pain.
Perfect, let him stew in that for a while.
Yuliya turned her gaze to the standing body.
At that moment, Eber’s body was gradually changing, shedding its “arrival form” and returning to his original appearance.
As Eber opened his eyes, Yuliya said coolly, “You probably won’t be around much longer. You’ve been possessing this body for too long, and your soul is almost entirely worn out.”
And that’s why Yuliya had opted to forcibly yank Di’s soul out instead of using the conventional methods.
Sure, it would cause another strain on the soul, but it was efficient.
Eber chuckled. “I know. It’s fine; I feel great right now. Thank you.”
“This guy will d*e too, right?” He pointed at the soul Yuliya was holding.
“Of course, and I won’t let him d*e too painlessly.”
“Good to hear.” Eber looked around, as if searching for something.
“What are you looking for?”
“What about the others?”
“They’re outside; they didn’t come in.”
“That’s fine.” Eber sat down, looking a bit tired.
“Riya, would you like to hear a boring story?”
“Sure, go ahead; I’m in no rush.”
Eber looked up, a wistful smile on his face as he started recalling.
“There was once a talented young man, the absolute center of attention among the youth in their small town—a dazzling star. His looks were decent enough to make girls swoon. Ultimately, he chose to leave with two childhood friends to see the outside world.”
“Why two?”
“Hahahaha, maybe out of greed. Some young people just don’t know when to hold back. They experienced landscapes and adventures, faced hardships and laughter, leaning on each other as they moved forward.”

“But then, during a seemingly simple adventure, an accident occurred. The two girls were gravely injured, and the young man cradled them in tears.”
“At that moment, an adventurer passed by, claiming he could save the two girls—but at a cost. The young man immediately agreed.”
“Afterward, the two girls miraculously recovered from their injuries; the young man was overjoyed, embracing them tightly.”
“But slowly, the young man noticed something was off. The abnormalities in the two girls, as well as his own…”
Yuliya blandly remarked, “They fell for a demon’s trick.”
“Right.”
“The young man was no longer himself, and the girls were merely puppets.”
“Exactly.” Eber sighed. “And that’s the end of the story. Quite boring, huh?”
“Indeed not interesting enough. At the end of the day, the boy was just too weak—lacking the power to save the girls and the insight to see through the trick.”
Cough cough! Eber cleared his throat. “Ah, if only you were as strong as you are now.”
“You’re about to bite the dust.” Yuliya shot him a glance. “Although I’ve always thought you were annoying, I still want to ask if you have any last wishes, out of respect for your slight sense of responsibility.”
“Last wishes?” Eber tilted his head. “Oh right, can you save those four?”
“I can save Martina and Gillian, but Rowlin and Dora are already beyond help.”
“Well then, I’ll leave those two in your capable hands. As for the others, I will seek redemption on the road to d*ath.”
“Got it.”
Yuliya nodded, shaping the soul in her hand into a sphere, then in a flash, she vanished.
Just conducted a little experiment, and now I’ve got a clear understanding of the curse’s operation mode; I can save those two who haven’t been too deep in it yet.
