## Chapter 421: Euphilia
The question was raised once again, and many people began to recall the scenes from before.
Eventually, one brave soul raised their hand to answer, “There are many types of magic, various attribute magics, sound magic, light and dark magic, illusion magic, and there’s even perception magic!”
“As for the magic level, given the stunning scene we just witnessed, it must be pretty high. We’re looking at mid to high-tier magic here.”
The girl smiled and nodded, gesturing for him to take a seat.
“Your observations are quite sharp—there indeed were many types of magic in that display. It basically covered all current types of magic. Besides what our classmate mentioned, there were also space magic and some auxiliary alchemical magic.”
“But,” she continued, “the magic levels aren’t quite what you said. In fact, these spells are all at the minimum daily level—barely even low-tier magic!”
“What! Not even low-tier magic?!”
Gasps of disbelief echoed throughout the room, with plenty of expressions ranging from shock to outright confusion.
Yet, several observing instructors furrowed their brows.
The magic levels were indeed low.
The actual power of these spells was quite weak; otherwise, they’d never be allowed in a classroom.
As for the huge flashy effects? Totally fake!
Just a mix of various magics creating an illusion.
But the real question remained: How could so many spells combine to create such a realistic effect?
From their perspective, if it had been achieved by piling on advanced magic, it would have felt more believable.
After allowing everyone a moment to absorb this, the girl continued, “For instance, a little flame—it’s the most basic fire creation spell. Many people use it at home to light candles. This is ice, freezing. The rest—wind, rain, thunder, lightning—are pretty ordinary.”
“And this is amplification, this is light and shadow, this is an illusion, and this…”
She went through each spell she had just used.
“So, combining these could create the earlier scene,” the girl said with a smile. “Isn’t that simple?”
“…”
Simple?
This was like finishing the times table only to be thrown into complex multiplication problems!
Or learning a few derivatives, then tackling the killer question on the final exam!
“The answer, of course, is that it’s not simple,” the girl’s expression returned to bland neutrality. “Because there’s one crucial factor missing, a factor that can organically blend those spells together.”
“That factor is called—imagination.”
“Now, back to the point. Let me introduce myself.” The girl turned to the blackboard and wrote her name.
“I am Euphilia, the new instructor at the Magic Academy, a classical mage.”
Instantly, the classroom erupted into a cacophony.
The previous tense atmosphere was lifted, and students were finally able to unleash their true personalities.
“Teacher, are you an elf?”
“Teacher, you’re so beautiful!”
“Teacher, I want to be your student! When do you start taking students?!”
“Superficial! So vulgar! Teacher, I wish to discuss the mysteries of magic with you in detail, I hope you’ll personally guide me!”
A flurry of chatter filled the air, everyone talking over one another, while whispers and side discussions bubbled up all around, including the four students near Yuliya.
“This new teacher is incredible!” Inif exclaimed, raising her voice towards Yuliya. “That series of spells! Most people wouldn’t master so many kinds, let alone…”
She trailed off mid-sentence, suddenly remembering that the girl next to her wasn’t just any newbie. If Inif could see it, surely Yuliya could too?
So, she pivoted away from Yuliya.
Uh-oh, dumb cat, skip on!
“Heidis! The way she can use daily magic is incredibly impressive! Most instructors in the academy don’t have that level!”
“Yeah, her control over magic is sublime. To make such an impact on her first appearance, look how excited the other students are!”
As Heidis spoke, she glanced at the other two.
Yuliya was just as unremarkable as ever, but Kaise was peculiarly silent.
Given Kaise’s usual personality, she should have been the first to yell out.
“Kaise, what’s wrong?”
“I…” Kaise frowned, staring at the speaker on stage, then glanced at Yuliya beside her.
Yuliya looked back, tilting her head, “What’s up?”
“Strange, how can there be two L… um!”
Halfway through, Kaise realized she couldn’t make a sound.
But Yuliya put a finger to her lips motioning for silence.
Simultaneously, a long-dormant voice echoed in her mind: “Don’t say a word!”
“Is that really Lady Riya?!”
“I’m impressed. How did you even recognize her?!”
“Lady Riya is Lady Riya! I remember her aura, her demeanor so clearly, how could I not recognize her? Plus the person on stage looks even more like the Lady Riya I first met.”
“Wow.”
“What?”
“Nothing.”
Meanwhile, Kaise realized she could speak again.
“Kaise, what was that you were saying?” Heidis asked, noticing her pause.
“Nothing… just nothing.”
“What were you mentioning two of?”
“Two… two pointy ears! They’re elves!” Kaise perked up again, “Heidis, look! Isn’t this teacher similar to the elf you mentioned earlier?!”
“Of course, she is! She is an elf!”
Suddenly, Kaise leaned closer to Yuliya, using a hushed voice only the two could hear, and in beastmen language said, “So Lady Riya is an elf?”
“No… I’m human, but perhaps because of some special connection with elves.”
She didn’t really know the specifics.
But the primal elf approaching her was no small issue.
“No matter what, that’s definitely Lady Riya!”
After a few more exchanges, the classroom gradually quieted down.
Euphilia raised a hand to regain everyone’s attention.
As for the myriad of questions the students had just thrown at her? She ignored every single one.
“Nice to meet you all, I understand you’re excited, but I expect absolute silence in my class. Without my permission, no casual chatting. I really don’t like being interrupted.”
As her expression hardened, everyone felt a chill down their spines.
“With good order in the classroom, we’ll all relax. Got it?”
Once she finished speaking, everything fell back to normal, as if the previous tension was just a figment of their imagination.
But that brief moment of oppression was real; even a few instructors couldn’t help but gasp.
This new teacher was definitely not your average Joe!
