Chapter 661

Chapter 13: Mischief

After applying sunscreen, Night Star bounced back with renewed energy, rejoining White Fish and the others for some fun.

Even with Night Lan around, Night Star was still playing the messenger of the Rising Sun Theater Group. Some of the little Lolis didn’t even know the true identity of the Audience Performer.

Night Star needed to blend in with them as the Audience Performer for a bit longer. Once the moment was right, she could reveal her true identity and give them all a surprise!

Of course, it might end up being a scare.

As for Eypar, she donned her swimsuit and wandered off on her own.

She had suddenly spotted a pigeon blended in with a flock of seagulls!

A dull gray pigeon amidst a bunch of white seagulls was quite the eyesore.

Unfortunately, Guqiu, being a Star Eclipse, was difficult for ordinary people to spot.

They might only hear Guqiu’s voice and mistake it for a supernatural event.

Eypar floated curiously beside Guqiu.

“Hey, silly Guqiu, what are you doing here?”

“Guh, I’m waiting for a fateful person to give this pigeon some fries.”

Guqiu stood quietly on the railing, lacking the raucous energy typical of seagulls.

Seagulls usually didn’t wait for people to feed them; they’d lock onto food in a pedestrian’s hands and swoop in opportunistically.

Hence, seagulls were often dubbed the beach bandits.

If it were the old Guqiu, it might have done the same.

But ever since a little angel came along, promising daily fries, Guqiu had reformed its ways.

With a guaranteed pack of fries every day, Guqiu was more than satisfied; anything more was just a bonus.

Now that Guqiu was back at the beach, it naturally wanted to bask in that nostalgic feeling.

Yes. Just waiting for someone to hand it fries.

The last time was Night Star.

Would someone else show up this time?

Eypar quipped, “If no one can see you, you might as well go all pirate like those seagulls and snatch some food.”

“Guh, this pigeon is a highly educated one. I wouldn’t be so rude as to act like those barbaric pirates.”

Guqiu puffed out its chest proudly.

Compared to this rare Star Eclipse pigeon, the other seagulls just didn’t hold a candle!

“Shock and awe! Silly Guqiu has been educated? I can’t believe it!” Eypar laughed.

“Guh, short-sighted ghost! I live at the Rising Sun Theater, surrounded by classy folks, and a gentleman even taught me etiquette, so I’m not the pigeon I used to be!”

Eypar pondered, eyeing Guqiu suspiciously.

“You didn’t misbehave in front of the gentleman and get taken for a lesson, did you?”

“Guh, something like that.”

“Ha! That’s hilarious! I wish I had been there to laugh at you!” Eypar doubled over, her laughter ringing melodiously.

“Guh! This pigeon won’t argue with a silly ghost. Stop bothering me while I wait for my special someone, alright?”

“Hmph! I’m not worried. Even if you wait forever, no one will deliver you fries!”

With that, Eypar stuck out her tongue and turned to leave.

Guqiu ignored her and intensely gazed into the distance, appearing as the pigeon version of a philosopher.

But the silly ghost had a point.

Since it came out, no one had given it fries.

Maybe it wouldn’t find a second fateful person.

By the way, Night Star was the first one and the best feeder.

Looks like there would be no second one.

Just as Guqiu prepared to take off, a voice suddenly chimed in nearby.

“Aw~ Why is there a pigeon here? So cute~”

Guqiu turned to find an unfamiliar stranger.

“Guh?”

None of that mattered; what mattered was the fries she was holding!

Who would have thought this stranger could see it and was holding fries!

Could this be the fateful person it was waiting for!?

Guqiu was blown away!

It really waited for this!

“Guhguhguh!”

Guqiu leaped up and down out of sheer excitement, overwhelmed to the point of losing its ability to speak.

Actually, it was more like returning to its normal state.

Just too cute.

The stranger girl’s lips curled into a smile as she waved the fries in her hand.

“Want some? Just call me ‘sister,’ and I might give you some~”

“Guh! Sister!”

Guqiu called out eagerly.

But instead of fries, all it got was her tinkling laughter.

“Ha! Silly Guqiu~”

Suddenly, a transparent figure popped out of the girl’s body—it was Eypar, grinning like a Cheshire cat.

She was having the time of her life because her prank had succeeded.

As Eypar emerged from the girl, the girl soon regained her awareness, puzzled about why she was there and why she was holding a box of fries.

Just a moment ago, she was merely taking a short nap in a hammock!

“How strange…”

Puzzled, the girl turned and walked away.

She didn’t notice the ghost girl or the weird pigeon at all.

Eypar grinned mischievously, bursting with joy.

“So, what do you think, silly Guqiu? Surprised? You weren’t expecting your fry-delivering fateful person to be me, this ghost!”

Guqiu: “Guh! Your mother, why?!”

“This is a ghost-exclusive prank! Since I couldn’t mess with Night Star, teasing a little Guqiu is fair game!”

Eypar twirled around happily, her little tuft bouncing cheerfully.

Though pranking a pigeon didn’t seem like a big deal, Eypar was just delighted.

Perhaps this was the essence of a fun rivalry.

Kinda.

The perspective shifts.

Night Lan, lounging on her float, raised her head to gaze at the sky, as if sensing something.

A ghost was swiftly sliding through the air, trailed by a dull gray pigeon.

If you listened closely, you could catch snippets of their banter.

Like, “Silly Guqiu, if you can, come catch me!” “Guh! Silly ghost! This pigeon is mad! You won’t get away with this!”

A talking pigeon chasing after a ghost girl—what a sight!

But why was Night Lan having this dream?

It was real, though.

“Just youth!” she sighed, celebrating the brilliance and joy of youth.

Meanwhile, Night Star engaged with White Fish and the others as the Audience Performer, building a closer bond with them, warming things up much better than before.

If she waited a bit longer, she’d be able to bundle this group of little Lolis up and snuggle with them!

Regardless, today at the beach had been the most enjoyable day since arriving in Pinghaishi.

Too bad the theater group wasn’t complete yet; they were missing one member.

Currently, the announcer was temporarily away from the Rising Sun Theater, working as a Night Watcher in the capital.

Speaking of Mo Tu.

What was happening over there with him?

He was probably buried in work.

He could’ve just stayed in Pinghaishi to enjoy a vacation!

He was definitely back to his young adult form by now.

Just thinking about it felt a bit boring.
