Chapter 126: Charlotte’s Care
【True Bloodline】
【False King】: Sequence 9
【Dragon King’s Blessing】:
【False Dragon Breath – Sky Dome】: A dragon breath projection of 【Dragon King Bahamut】, infused with the majesty of the Dragon King, capable of rivaling a full-powered strike from Sequence 4. However, divine power comes with massive side effects.
Although Roy hadn’t completely figured it out yet, he was certain that the 【False King】 possessed the ability to inherit the power of ancient heroic spirits, even able to leverage a hint of divine power!
It was said that 【Dragon King Bahamut】 was a demigod, and just the projection was enough to kill the 【Crimson Bloodfire Dragon Balagas】; the legends were indeed true.
Sequence 4 in Veszyra is a rare breed, a powerhouse capable of dominating the continent! In the worst-case scenario, he had the ability for a one-for-one exchange with these strong beings!
If he trained this bloodline power well, he might truly match, or even surpass, the golden bloodline in the future!
There might still be other dire crises ahead, and the fire dragon had mentioned that its surviving kin had their eyes on him; surely, other celestial dragons were still alive in the world.
But now, he was no longer the helpless good-for-nothing; he finally had a real opportunity to rebel against fate!
Thinking of this, Roy was filled with ambition and immediately rolled over in bed!
No choice, the power of 【Dragon King Bahamut】 was strong, but the side effects were equally ridiculous.
Especially the projection of the Blade of the Progenitor, which not only consumed reverse fate points but also required life energy; it was used only as a last resort.
No matter the aspirations, they had to wait until he was healed.
Thus, Roy calmly focused on recuperating, spending his days eating and sleeping, and sleeping and eating.
Veszyra lacked the rich electronic entertainment of his past life, making recuperation quite a tedious affair.
Fortunately, with Charlotte’s company, these days weren’t too boring.
Charlotte was recovering much faster than he was; after a day of sleep, she regained her vigor.
Since then, the girl had appeared by Roy’s bedside every day, voluntarily taking up the responsibility to care for him as his two cat-girl maids looked on.
At first, Roy was quite looking forward to it; having the Lionheart Princess personally take care of him seemed like quite an enviable situation.
But the princess, having never cared for anyone before, was a bit clumsy; she would spill water, feed him on the face, apply medicine in a messy way, and wrap his bandages like a mummy.
It really wasn’t enjoyable and instead left Roy quite exhausted.
“Uh, if it’s not going well, maybe let the maids handle it,” Roy said, trying to be polite and gentle.
Charlotte immediately exploded, fuming, “Who says I can’t do it?!”
“It’s just caring for someone, don’t underestimate me!”
Charlotte was determined to do something for Roy, so she put aside her pride and actively sought advice from the two cat-girl maids.
Truth be told, Roy was quite touched.
The princess was willing to ask the maids how to take care of him; just having that heart was enough.
And today was the day for Charlotte to showcase her learning results.
But one thing puzzled Roy immensely.
I get the logic, but why are you dressed like a maid while taking care of someone?! You’re a princess!
And it was a cat-girl maid outfit! This just felt so off! What exactly did the maids teach you?!
Charlotte stood in front of Roy’s bed in a white maid dress with red edges, over-the-knee lace socks, a pair of cat ears on her head, and even a long, soft, red tail poking out from behind!
The girl stood there, slightly embarrassed as she fidgeted with her skirt, her beautiful legs twisting around while that tail swayed behind her.
This was her first time wearing such clothes, and being stared at by Roy made her so anxious she huffed, “What? Not satisfied?”
“How could I not be satisfied?!” Roy exclaimed, immediately causing pain in his wound with his excitement.
Cat-girl maids were treasures of the world, especially with a beauty like Charlotte!
It was just way too stimulating for his heart…
“Really? You like it?” Charlotte asked, her frown finally softening, a shy smile appearing at the corner of her lips.
“But why the sudden outfit change?” Roy was still puzzled.
Maid outfits looked good, but after all, they were the clothes of servants, which nobles would look down upon. Not to mention, as a princess, if her family found out, it would be a ‘Dad’s scolding, Mom’s nagging’ kind of scenario.
Charlotte anxiously twirled her hair and weakly averted her gaze.
“Why do you ask? Don’t you like cat-girl maids?”
“Huh?”
“And I asked Lisa and your two maids; to be a good maid, you have to start with the outfit!”
“Becoming a maid?” Roy was getting more and more confused.
“That means…” Charlotte stammered, her tail flicking in a panic, then she closed her eyes and declared, “You should feel honored! I, the lady, am willing to be your maid!”
Roy had not only rescued her but had also defeated the Crimson Bloodfire Dragon; it was no exaggeration to say he had saved the whole kingdom.
However, she couldn’t even take good care of him.
Every time she thought of that, Charlotte felt guilty, so she made up her mind to reward him properly.
Now it seemed the effect was quite good.
“Really, is it okay?” Roy confirmed one last time, jokingly adding, “Isn’t it too much for the Lionheart Princess to demean herself like this?”
Unexpectedly, the girl tightened her grip on her skirt, glanced over shyly, and whispered softly, “What are you thinking? I only wear this for you.”
Looking at the girl with affectionate eyes, Roy felt his heart skip a beat, leaving him speechless.
With her face flushed from embarrassment under his gaze, Charlotte quickly changed the subject.
“Anyway, just for today! I’m willing to be your maid and do whatever you say; just tell me what you need!” Charlotte puffed her small chest proudly, full of confidence.
Only one day…
Roy felt a bit regretful deep down.
Wait, if killing a dragon could unlock a Charlotte skin, wouldn’t killing all of them unlock even more?
Suddenly, Roy was filled with determination, wishing for the remaining dragons to hurry up and drop dead.
“But, even if you say to make requests…” Roy squinted at the cat-girl maid in front of him, dubious.
Even in a maid outfit, this girl was still the clueless little princess who couldn’t take care of anyone; Roy felt hesitant to ask anything out of line.
“Who are you underestimating? I’ve trained hard! This time, I’ll absolutely nail it!” Charlotte pouted in displeasure.
“Anything I can ask for?”
“Anything you want!”
Hearing this, Roy grinned mischievously: “Actually, I do have one request.”
“Can you meow for me? Like the beastfolk do.”
“What?!” Charlotte was shocked, nearly toppling over.
“You used to meow when you were surprised! Isn’t that easy for you?!”
“I never did!” Charlotte was both embarrassed and angry, immediately blowing up.
Not letting you make requests was about feeding and watering, I didn’t mean for you to do these weird things!
“Well, if you don’t want to, that’s fine.” Roy turned away, gazing out the window at a 45-degree angle.
His silhouette looked particularly melancholic.
“Ah, poor Roy, after such a bloody battle, even this little wish can’t be fulfilled…”
“Uh!” Charlotte felt a jolt in her chest, instantly hit by a wave of guilt.
