Chapter 14: Blind Date Crisis
Watching the dejected figure of the little princess, Lisa felt a pang of sympathy.
Wanting to date the guy you like is just a normal wish for any girl.
But for a member of the royal family, it’s impossible.
To wear the crown means to bear its weight, and this goes for royal children too.
While Charlotte enjoys all the riches, she must also shoulder the responsibilities of the royal family.
Ordinary women can act spoiled, choose not to marry, marry late, regret their marriage, or even divorce, waiting for their Prince Charming to show up.
But not Charlotte.
A royal princess must marry as soon as possible to ensure the stability of the future political landscape. Otherwise, countless people will fight over the position of her betrothed. Not to mention, in this extraordinary world, if war breaks out and the royal family has no heir, the kingdom is not far from destruction.
Pursuing their own happiness is a given for every girl.
But the Lionheart Kingdom’s princess is destined to be out of luck with such matters.
Charlotte has never complained about this fate.
Among noblewomen, many abandon their family for the pursuit of self. Countless women have had regrets, called off engagements, cheated after marriage, or run away from home.
Since the world is inherently unfair, why shouldn’t they indulge in their desires?
As a woman, Lisa even understands their choices quite well.
But Charlotte has not chosen this path.
From the very beginning, she decided to sacrifice her happiness to fulfill the responsibilities of the royal family. So even knowing Raymond’s vile nature, she attempted to go on blind dates.
Charlotte’s noble mindset earned Lisa’s admiration. But seeing such a young girl burdened with melancholy broke Lisa’s heart.
“Your Highness, if you really don’t want to, you can ask His Majesty to delay it a bit longer.”
Charlotte’s back trembled slightly, but soon a flat sigh escaped her lips.
“Forget it, what difference does delaying it make?”
“I have my responsibilities.”
Charlotte turned back, revealing a faint smile.
Yet, Lisa couldn’t muster a smile seeing the gloom in Charlotte’s eyes.
She pulled out the list of potential suitors and began to review it again.
Even if she couldn’t fulfill Charlotte’s wishes, Lisa wanted to find her a decent man as much as possible.
“Let’s take another look; there are still some families we haven’t visited.”
“Mm.” Charlotte replied absentmindedly, continuing to gaze at the men and women on the street.
“If the remaining candidates meet the criteria… the son of Count Carter, the second son of Marquis Roderick…”
Charlotte knew the kind of personalities found in knight novels didn’t exist in reality.
She self-deprecatingly said, “If it really doesn’t work out, marrying some handsome guy wouldn’t be a loss, right?”
“Handsome guy…”
Lisa flipped through the pages and suddenly stopped with a jolt.
Wow.
This guy is way too handsome, right?!
Rarely found with black hair and black eyes, his flawless features were simply stunning, and his physique was just the right mix of toned and strong!
“Your Highness! What about Ainbrad? Super handsome!” Lisa exclaimed excitedly.
“What?” Charlotte blinked in surprise.
“What are you talking about? The Iron-Blooded Marquis could be my father!”
“I’m not talking about the Iron-Blooded Marquis, I’m talking about his son!”
Lisa brought the illustrated roster to Charlotte: “This one, Roy Ainbrad!”
Charlotte’s eyes brightened at first, thinking this guy really was quite handsome.
However, when she recalled this familiar name, she instantly blew up, baring her teeth and feeling like flames were shooting out of her head!
“What kind of joke is this?!”
“Eh?”
“Haven’t you heard? Roy Ainbrad is nothing but a worthless scoundrel!!!”
He bullies the weak, oppresses the commoners, harasses women, is lazy, uneducated, and has a character so despicable that besides his pretty face, he’s got nothing worthwhile!
Saying he’s despised by both people and dogs wouldn’t be an exaggeration!
In a sense, this guy is even worse than Raymond! At least Raymond is an Extraordinary Being!
But Lisa chuckled: “Your Highness, what are you saying?”
“How could such a handsome guy possibly be a bad person?”
“… You’re hopelessly obsessed with looks.” Charlotte replied, feeling speechless.
Lisa turned serious: “But seriously, when did you last see Roy?”
“Four years, no, five years ago, I think.”
“People can change; he might have turned over a new leaf!”
Charlotte’s lips twitched, deeply skeptical of that.
She still couldn’t forget the last time she saw Roy, drooling over the noble ladies at the ball.
Just thinking about it made her shiver.
Moreover, she heard that Roy had recently splurged at an auction for a little blonde girl.
Isn’t he a total lolicon?!
“Who else is left?”
Lisa answered concisely: “A 60-year-old man and a 7-year-old kid.”
Charlotte’s vision went dark.
“Your Highness, it’s just a blind date, not an engagement; at least you can feast your eyes!”
Charlotte looked at the portrait in the album and, under Lisa’s persuasion, sank into deep conflict.
Truth be told, that face is really handsome.
“… Alright, let’s meet him.”
Even if they end up not falling in love, looking at a handsome guy wouldn’t be a loss!
————————————————
Under the afternoon sun, Roy was sprawled on a recliner in the library, looking utterly despondent.
It’s over.
He never imagined that with both goals one and two progressing smoothly, he would get backstabbed by goal three!
It’s not without reason that Roy was worried; the panel had indeed given a warning!
【Lionheart·Reverse Fate Progress】: 0%
【Current Reverse Fate Node: Lionheart】
【Charlotte Reinhardt】: Current Affection -19 (Disdain)
The reason Roy prioritized cultivating Alice and changing his image wasn’t just because those two matters were more important, but also because he thought he wasn’t ready to interact with the celestial ladies from “Angel Dance.”
“Angel Dance” spans quite a considerable amount of time.
By the timeline, it’s only just the beginning of the game; far too early for Alice’s harem moment to arrive.
Who’d have thought his father would suddenly call for a blind date!
And it just had to be with Charlotte Reinhardt, the Lionheart Princess!
Among the celestial ladies, she harbors the most hostility towards “scoundrel Roy”!
Charlotte, who has received a royal education since childhood, possesses an absurd sense of justice; how could she tolerate the “scoundrel Roy” committing all sorts of atrocities towards Alice?
Upon discovering that Alice was mistreated, underfed, and poorly clothed, the princess was instantly enraged and forcibly took Alice away, setting her sights on the “scoundrel Roy,” ultimately teaming up with Alice to end his sin-filled life.
Congratulations, congratulations… on what?!
I’m Roy right now!
Facing the most favored princess of the Lionheart Kingdom, the girl in the original story who gets strong, what do I have to fight back?!
Just thinking about it gives Roy a headache.
In short, under no circumstances should he oppose the Lionheart Princess.
But what exactly should he do?
