I’m Really Not Trying to Be Chased by the Heroine as the Villainous Playboy! – Chapter 163

Chapter 16: The End of Encounters

The Central Continent Academy of Magic was originally established to unite the elite of humanity against the Demon Race. Before that, it served as a training ground for apprentices of magicians from the Second Era, making its history quite extensive.

Now, the Central Continent Academy aims to cultivate extraordinary talents for various nations and facilitate political and cultural exchanges, standing as the premier institution in the Western Continent.

However, the official opening day is tomorrow, so there’s no need to rush today.

“We’re tired from the journey, let’s rest at an inn for the night,” said Roy, the young master, and obviously, no one could oppose that.

Roy was quite generous with accommodations, bringing Alice, Vanilla, Choco, and the entire squad of guards to a high-end hotel specifically catering to nobles.

In Academy City, even the hotel was filled with monster specimens and precious extraordinary books, leaving newcomers like Choco and the others in awe.

However, Roy wasn’t really tired; he had another reason.

Back in his room, instead of resting, he walked to the window and silently stared outside.

Before long, a carriage stopped across from the hotel, and a girl draped in a light green cloak stepped down.

Though her hood obscured her face, those well-proportioned, shapely legs and the elegant figure made Roy immediately recognize her identity.

No doubt about it—she was one of the heroine candidates from “Angel’s Waltz,” the elven descendant, Nia Molly!

Once out of the carriage, Nia was surrounded by a group of men who seemed determined to take her into a nearby alley, as if she were a defenseless damsel.

Watching this, Roy began mourning for them.

The original story mentioned that Nia had fled her homeland, disguised her identity, and mingled with smugglers to sneak into the Magical Kingdom.

The smugglers, seeing her alone, had evil intentions, unaware that she was the descendant of the Forest Elf—a golden-blood lineage.

It’s worth noting that elves were ancient beings that stood alongside dragons and titans during the First Era.

Every elven descendant is either a naturally gifted sorcerer or a ranger with exceptional skills from a young age.

Nia Molly had both attributes. She was a bona fide rank-8 Extraordinary Being.

Sure enough, after a short while, a heart-wrenching wail from a man could be heard in the distance.

The girl in the dark green cloak burst from the alley, holding a few wallets.

Several seconds later, a man covering himself ran out, cursing and shouting at his lackeys to chase after her.

Once it was confirmed that Nia headed away from the hotel, Roy finally sighed in relief, no longer paying attention to the window.

Although the fated encounter had no response, Roy still wanted to play it safe and maintain a distance from the Daughter of Destiny.

There were four routes to enter the city.

In the original story, depending on the chosen route, Alice would encounter different Daughters of Destiny the day before enrollment, laying the groundwork for future interactions.

Among the four Daughters of Destiny, Charlotte, being of royal blood, was the most troublesome. Luckily, the attitude between Roy and her had improved, so he had no worries on that front.

But the route involving Charlotte was too close to the other two.

In a sense, while Charlotte was the most unapproachable, she was also the easiest to deal with.

The other two girls posed more of a problem—one was the most dangerous, and the other the most terrifying. If possible, Roy didn’t even want to see them.

Only this last one, Nia Molly, seemed like a hassle yet also the safest option for Roy.

In the original story, Alice miscalculated the dates and arrived at the academy one day early, which led to her rescuing Nia from being chased by smugglers and thieves by pure chance.

After that, Nia often interfered to protect Alice from being bullied by “bad boy Roy,” even seeking him out for revenge.

Though “seeking out” really meant throwing rotten eggs and tomatoes, it never escalated to a deadly feud, making it far milder compared to interactions with the other Daughters of Destiny.

If he were to run into Nia, it’d be better than meeting the other two.

Fortunately, things were going even smoother than Roy anticipated.

Once settled in the hotel, his chance encounter with Nia was fully cut off.

It seemed this world lacked any so-called plot correction ability.

The story of “Angel’s Waltz” was based on favorability, meaning that missing an event meant missed favorability points.

As long as he kept avoiding Nia like this, he could significantly reduce the chances of triggering the original storylines! With good luck, he might not even trigger any fateful encounters!

At dinner, Alice reminded Roy.

“Master, I heard there was a conflict with a band of thieves across the street. The innkeeper suggested we shouldn’t go out tonight.”

“Oh come on! We’ve come all the way to Academy City, can’t we go explore a bit?!” Choco, who was busy eating, raised her head with a mouth full of bread, protesting loudly.

After spending these days together, Choco now completely believed that Roy had turned over a new leaf, even feeling emboldened to act more casual with him.

“Silly sister, how to decide that is up to the young master!”

However, whenever it came to times like this, her sister Vanilla would perform a tail-pulling punishment, making the black-haired catgirl let out a cute squeal.

“I was just joking, meow!”

“That’s not allowed! What if the young master encounters the thieves…?”

Roy wasn’t afraid of danger; he was just scared of running into a certain elven girl.

Heaven knows how long Nia had been chased by those thieves. Just to be safe, it was better to avoid her tonight.

“Sorry, let’s skip tonight. After all, we have plenty of time to explore the academy. I’ll take you both out in a few days,” Roy said, his gaze fixed intently on Alice.

“Master, you’ll accompany us?” Alice hesitated, chewing on Roy’s earlier words.

“Yeah.” Roy nodded.

Even though the Daughter of Destiny was a hassle, it’d be a shame not to wander around in such a vibrant city like Academy City without taking Alice along.

“Everything is as the master wishes.” The little maid replied obediently, a flash of anticipation in her clear blue eyes, her dainty feet in little shoes swaying beneath the table.

The streets of Academy City were lively and prosperous, offering a fresh experience. But for Alice, it was being next to Roy that brought her the most comfort.

In fact, she wasn’t that keen on shopping, but Roy’s suggestion to go shopping ignited her interest.

“There are many lively places in Academy City; I’ll let Alice think about where we might go.”

“Anywhere is fine, as long as I’m with the master,” Alice replied, tilting her head back to glance at the young man, speaking her heart naturally and without reservation.

Under the slightly yellowish light, Alice’s delicate features were outlined warmly and beautifully, sending ripples through Roy’s heart, leaving him momentarily lost in thought.

“?” Alice tilted her head in confusion, a bit unsure why he suddenly seemed dazed.

“Hey, hey! If we’re going shopping, Choco wants to… uh!”

The noisy Choco was silenced by some hidden fan club member, thankfully not disturbing the tender moment between the master and his maid.
