Chapter 35: The Rat Tail Juice
This time, Yana brought even more bodyguards.
At the foot of the teaching building, several handsome boys from various countries stood respectfully behind Yana, casting envious glances at Roy.
Yana herself wore her usual annoying, pretentious smile: “Mr. Roy, what a coincidence, we meet again.”
“I wonder if you are free tonight?”
Before Roy could respond, she interrupted again: “Oh, don’t use that excuse from this morning. A gentleman shouldn’t refuse a lady’s invitation twice, right?”
Yana stepped slightly forward, her brown eyes hinting at a sense of coercion.
Previously, there were those who had refused her candies, but once a whip was added, those men ultimately ended up as her toys, didn’t they?
Since this Roy dared to ignore her candy, he should experience the taste of the whip!
Too bad she picked the wrong target.
“A gentleman? I think you’ve misunderstood something.”
“Others call me a ‘scoundrel.’”
Roy smirked, lifting his chin slightly.
At the same time, two catgirl maids, one black and one white, immediately stepped in front of him.
Despite their petite figures, the black and white catgirls emitted a terrifying extraordinary aura, their eyes glinting with a bloodthirsty fighting spirit.
The extraordinary level of pureblood beastmen cannot be enhanced through training; it relies solely on natural growth, and their limit is far from that of human extraordinary beings.
However, their growth rate in childhood clearly outpaces that of humans.
Among the top newcomers in Sequence 8, Kirak and Vanilla in Sequence 7 stood out prominently.
Yana’s expression changed; those bodyguards behind her gasped, growing tense.
Having always accustomed to bullying others in her home country, Yana finally realized that Roy was not the soft persimmon she had dealt with before.
But she couldn’t back down.
At this moment, the entrance of the teaching building was bustling with students leaving class, countless eyes were watching, and backing out now would only make her appear inferior to Roy.
“Roy Ainbrad, think carefully; being invited by me is your honor! Don’t be disrespectful!”
Bluffing meant the opponent was already helpless.
Roy sighed. “Sorry, I’m in a hurry.”
As he spoke, Roy attempted to pass by Yana.
“Stop right there!”
An exasperated Yana reached for Roy’s hand.
But just as she was about to grasp his wrist, the black-haired boy swiftly turned his head, his dark eyes narrowing slightly.
In an instant, an invisible pressure swept in like a storm. It was an oppressive force deeper and more frightening than that of higher-sequence extraordinary beings, completely shattering Yana’s pathetic pride, engulfing her in irrepressible fear and helplessness, feeling like a tiny ant gazing up at the heavens.
“Ah!”
Yana recoiled as if electrocuted, stumbling but nearly falling to the ground.
The dragon’s might lasted only a moment, and the next second, Roy returned to his usual calm demeanor.
“What a rare opportunity; let me be clear.”
“Yana Shanik, I have far more important things to do. I hope you think wisely and don’t waste my time again.”
With that, just as he had stated, Roy turned and left, accompanied by the two catgirl maids, not intending to waste another second.
Yana glared, humiliated and wanting to retort, but her body still remembered the earlier terrifying pressure, instinctively trembling, her face pale, unable to utter a word.
“Hey, isn’t that Yana?”
“She’s having a hard time today?”
“Looks like she clashed with Roy just now.”
“Guess bad people do meet their match?”
“No, no, don’t compare our kingdom’s oath knight with someone like that!”
The noisy comments washed over Yana like a tide, causing her to snap back to reality; she suddenly realized she had shown weakness in front of Roy!
Why? Didn’t they feel that pressure?!
What a joke; I’m not scared of that man!
Yana couldn’t understand and could no longer endure the surrounding mockery, hastily retreating with her guards.
————————
Roy gave the two catgirl maids a bit of pocket money, sent them off, and then headed to the training ground.
There were many magic academy training sessions going on, and most newcomers were outside, giving Roy the perfect opportunity to sneak… uh, pass by.
Hiding in a small grove common throughout the academy, Roy quietly peered towards the training ground, quickly spotting a golden figure.
During training, one naturally changes into more comfortable clothes, and Alice was currently in a single ponytail wearing a black tank top and matching skirt, with delicate armor on her slender arms and calves.
The girl’s gaze was cool and indifferent, but her movements were sharp and fierce; each sword swing made her golden ponytail dance elegantly.
With her strength in Sequence 8 and battle experience from fighting against dragons, she was unbeatable among her classmates, hardly any sparring partner could withstand ten moves against her.
However, some boys preferred to get beaten up by her wooden sword rather than not practice with her.
Alice was serious and hardworking, evident from how strictly she followed the maid code of conduct. Upon arriving at the academy, she naturally became the top of the class, even earning approving glances from the typically strict and harsh teacher, Miss Sado.
Seeing Alice train hard without being bullied and receiving good evaluations from the teacher made Roy feel a bit proud. He couldn’t help but want to rush out and show off to everyone.
Look, look! My little maid is just this capable!
But engaging in such embarrassing dad behavior would probably make Alice dislike him even more, so Roy only dared to think about it.
Kids grow up; guardians should gracefully step away.
Just as Roy was about to get up, a tinkling laughter suddenly rang out from above.
“Tsk, tsk, tsk, someone said, ‘The young eagle must learn to soar alone.’ Look at what’s happening now?”
Roy froze, slowly lifting his head to see a green-haired girl lounging on a tree branch, propped up on her hands, her face full of mischief.
“I was just passing by,” Roy explained a bit sheepishly.
“Passing by, what a nice way to put it,” Nia shook her head repeatedly.
Roy retorted, “Don’t point fingers; what about you? Not training and slacking off here?”
“Don’t slander my innocence; it’s extra training time, regular training has already wrapped up.”
Nia, being an Extraordinary Being of the Forest Elf, jumped down from the tree as lightly as a bird landing, making almost no sound, which Roy admired.
However, in contrast to her agile movements was her energetic and restless nature.
Nia approached, bringing with her a refreshing scent of vegetation.
“Speaking of which, now that you’re here, why hide?”
“Aren’t I worried about bothering Alice? Just like some kids hate having their parents watch them. Plus, coming to pick her up after school makes me seem too indulgent, which isn’t good for her growth!”
Despite Roy’s valid reasoning, Nia wore a face of disbelief.
Putting aside the fact that Alice wouldn’t dislike him, this kind of slime-like statement was foolish; didn’t he pamper that kid enough already?
“So, in conclusion…”
“Let’s go, you!”
Nia threw a sudden palm strike toward Roy’s back, catching the young boy off guard as she pushed him out of the grove.
