Chapter 114: This Little Flame Is Enough
Flames ignited from the darkness, like a torch lighting up a long night.
The boy wielding the Ember Flame Blade stood firm, blocking the way, preventing any branches or vines from crossing his line.
Watching the silhouette of the elven girl fade away, Sharon let out a nonchalant hum, shifting her attention to Roy with a sneer.
“Foolish.”
“Not to mention that you brought the Forest Elf right into the trap, do you really think you can stop me? Your delays are meaningless.”
Yet Roy simply flicked his wrist, spinning his sword casually, glancing back at the cultist in the distance.
“Walk into a trap? Delay? Do you think you’ve misunderstood something?”
“What?” Sharon frowned slightly.
“Nia will handle your barrier.”
“As for me, I’m not here to buy time.”
Gazing up, the black-haired boy raised the Ember Flame Blade toward the cultist hovering above him, declaring haughtily and indifferently, “I’m here to take your life.”
Sharon froze, and then her eyes bulged like a fungus about to burst.
This arrogant declaration pierced the cultist’s pride completely.
What is a False King anyway? Just a kid barely at Sequence 8?!
No need for the Mother Goddess’s chosen one to step in; she would take revenge for her previous humiliation right now!
Sharon suddenly spread her arms wide, and countless dead branches swirled around, forming a terrifying massive shadow from rotting wood that shot up, releasing a poisonous miasma.
“Defeating a puppet just now, do you really think you can challenge the Mother Goddess’s might?!”
Feeling the overwhelming Extraordinary Power exponentially stronger than before, Roy instinctively broke into a sweat.
This was the true Fallen Treant, the priest of All Things Wither; Sharon Blackwood’s full power could match a genuine Sequence 6!
Compared to this, the barely qualified Bruewen from before didn’t even stand a chance.
In this battle, without Nia’s assistance, surrounded by heavy miasma, and facing Sharon’s full force, it was undoubtedly going to be way harder than the previous fight against ‘Yana’.
Especially since the opponent continuously drew Extraordinary Power from the Fallen Forest, Roy realized his bloodline wasn’t sufficient, so he had to finish this as quickly as possible!
Roy was the first to strike, leaping up, cutting through the winding branches, charging straight toward Sharon.
Sharon scoffed, swatting her hand, and a massive fist larger than thunder descended from the sky!
The shockwave exploded, like a cannonball being fired.
Roy narrowly dodged, but was sent flying by the immense force, his sword stabbing into another tree wall to steady himself.
Where he had originally been standing had long been crushed, collapsing like a domino effect.
Just as he regained his footing on the branch, another hand descended like a hurricane.
From Sharon’s perspective, squashing Roy was no different than crushing an ant.
Yet the blazing red flame reminded her again of the searing pain that dug into her bones.
Ember Destruction!
With one sword slash, flames erupted, roaring like a fire dragon.
The flames collided with the giant fist, sending countless sparks and shockwaves flying, uprooting everything nearby.
In the end, that blazing red giant fist shattered with a deafening crack, burning completely through from the outside in. The black-haired boy was blasted over a hundred meters away, crashing out.
The power of the dark god came with a hefty price; the pain of the Fallen Treant would recoil on its user.
Sharon covered her scorched left hand, her face contorted, shaking at the horrifying dragon flames, yet managing to force out a cold smile.
She could sense that last strike had drained more than half of Roy’s Extraordinary Power.
That kid could no longer wield the dragon flames!
“The blood of a False King is nothing. Besides, how can someone who exchanged their soul to serve a dark god compare to the true divinity’s favor upon us?”
Amidst the smoke and dust, Roy slowly propped himself up, exhaling a breath of stale air, his burnt right arm hanging limply as he switched the sword to his left hand.
That last punch’s force was terrifying. His right arm was injured not just from Ember Destruction but from the collision with that gigantic fist, which had broken his bone.
Dragon scale protection was only superficial; it couldn’t fully negate the impact.
Meanwhile, the surrounding miasma grew denser; even after taking holy water, Roy could feel his vitality decreasing rapidly.
But so what?
Roy took out the Blood Reagent and swallowed it in one gulp.
The pain vanished in an instant; his weary body surged back with energy, and his fighting spirit ignited anew.
Blood was the most direct manifestation of life force, and one vial of Blood Reagent was enough to counter the miasma’s drain.
“Favor? Don’t make me laugh.”
“Selling your soul to a dark god as a dog, and that’s called favor?”
Roy charged once more; his momentum unchanged from before.
But this time, Sharon no longer held back, bursting into laughter.
“That’s still better than you! What can your pathetic little flames even do?”
“To deal with you, this little flame is enough!”
Facing the overwhelming vines, Roy swung the Ember Flame Blade once more.
To conserve his Extraordinary Power, this time the flame was only a thin layer, but under the boy’s exquisite swordsmanship, countless vines were severed and burned away, raining down like remnants of a battle.
Beyond the vines was an army of razor-sharp branches.
Hundreds upon thousands of branches rained down, like a whole army launching spears from a castle wall, the momentum thunderous and terrifying.
Yet Roy raised his sword fiercely, standing alone against the incoming storm.
Sky-Rending Dragon Claw!
A dark-golden silhouette of a flying dragon appeared, slicing through the air with a powerful blow that shattered all the wooden spears, forcibly tearing open a path!
Weaving through the debris of vines and branches, the black-haired boy leaped, twisting between the entwined branches, finally reaching the upper level, charging straight at Sharon’s main body!
Sharon’s expression finally twisted into a wicked grimace, controlling the Fallen Treant, and with her still-healing left fist, she brought both fists down with devastating force.
A shadow blotting out the sun barreled toward him, the fists of the treant titan exploded with terrifying roars, enveloping an endless amount of lethal miasma, pouring down caustic filth, like a retribution-filled hammer!
However, against the crushing power, Roy didn’t retreat but advanced, raising his longsword to meet the overwhelming might.
Ember Destruction!
The crimson flames erupted again, far inferior to before, yet still piercing through the space between the fists, igniting a blazing path.
Sharon’s face twisted in pain; facing the boy charging with his blade, she chose not to dodge or evade.
With her legs transformed into roots, she wasn’t good at close combat.
She couldn’t dodge, but she didn’t need to.
Because the boy’s Extraordinary Power was already as minor as a flickering candle in the wind!
The scarlet light from Roy’s sword rushed forth. With a strike that condensed Life Force, he cleaved Sharon in half.
After that, the boy’s movements slowed down like a marionette with cut strings, losing all prior might.
“Enough!”
Sharon, tethered by vines, widened her eyes, the giant she controlled lunging again to deliver final judgment upon this filthy bloodline that dared challenge the Mother Goddess’s authority.
Until she carelessly tossed a handful of yellow powder.
That was the elven tribe’s secret Extraordinary Fuel, Flame Essence!
The cultist, familiar with plants, instantly recognized what it was, desperately trying to control the vines and branches to lunge at Roy, but it was too late.
“I told you, to deal with you, this little flame is enough.”
Under Sharon’s utterly terrified gaze, the black-haired boy’s weary face revealed a trace of mocking.
With a snap of his fingers, a feeble flame lit up from the dust, erupting into a massive firework, exploding with a thunderous bang, completely engulfing Sharon’s figure.
