Chapter 30: All Done
As the days went by, Roy’s body finally hit its limit.
【Compatibility: Medium】
【Carrying Capacity: Strong】
But even so, magic potions can’t be chugged like plain water.
Deciding it was time to take the potion and become an Extraordinary Being, Roy started busting his tail early in the day getting everything set up.
When Alice found out that there was some risk in becoming an Extraordinary Being, she couldn’t help but worry, “Master, are you really going to be okay?”
Roy, who was busying himself in the room, couldn’t help but smile at her question.
“I’ve prepared so much; what could possibly go wrong with just one little promotion?”
The more powerful the Extraordinary ability, the harder the promotion process is, putting a colossal strain on both body and spirit.
Take someone like Charlotte, born with Extraordinary powers—she nearly kicked the bucket a few times just coming out of the womb! Without a team of doctors, it would’ve been lights out for her.
But Alice’s worries were totally unnecessary.
The Blood of Iron and Blood was still Silver Blood, so how dangerous could it really be?
Lacking talent? Just throw money at it!
With the 【Activating Potion】, Roy not only consumed a bunch of potions to boost his mental power but also exchanged for loads of goodies to help with the promotion.
【Purple Smoke】
【Description】: A special incense used by Dark Elves in the Second Era that significantly reduces mental fatigue during the promotion of Extraordinary Bloodlines. Originally meant for Dark Elf adulthood ceremonies, it’s effective for normal folks too.
【Emerald Essence】
【Description】: A medicinal bath used by the royal family of Forest Elves in the Second Era, combining seventeen secret herbs from the Elf clan into a concentrated potion. It helps reduce physical fatigue and evaporates a portion of the user’s undigested Extraordinary power.
These two items drained half of Roy’s affection points, making him feel a real pinch in his wallet.
With all this preparation, it was like using a cannon to swat a fly.
Roy honestly didn’t believe that just having Silver Blood could bring him any real danger.
“Don’t worry, I’ll wrap this up soon.” Roy ruffled Alice’s hair reassuringly.
Alice perked up and clenched her little fists, “Yeah! Master will be just fine!”
Alice helped Roy prepare the green medicinal bath, pulled the bed curtains, lit the incense, and finally assisted him in shedding his extra clothes to soak in the potion.
Then, the girl retreated to a corner, waiting quietly.
Those who consume the magic potion end up feeling weak, but before that, there was nothing she could do to help.
Roy picked up the 【Blood of Iron】 magic potion, opened the vial, and gulped down the thick crimson liquid in one go, then sank into the emerald bath, beginning the digestion process with the extraordinary power from the potion.
Just as Dad Carl described, Roy felt the potion sliding down his throat like molten lava, flowing into his organs.
“I’m so…….!”
Roy gasped, caught off guard by the pain, coughing and twitching in the bath.
He didn’t even need to look to know he looked like a half-dead salted fish on the beach.
He started regretting having Alice wait here to witness his embarrassing state.
Even with a mental prep, Alice was startled and felt completely at a loss, “Master! Are you okay? Do you want me to call Sister Anya…?”
“No, I’m fine, it’s normal…” Roy gritted his teeth through the pain, finally managing to finish his sentence: “Just hang in there for a bit!”
The magic potion was made from materials of extraordinary beings. It’s said that the core material of the 【Blood of Iron】 potion is the heart’s blood of an undead knight.
That stuff was as hot as magma, so his current sensations were totally expected.
A headache was just a small price to pay! So what if it hurt? Let’s get it done!
With Alice by his side, how could he let her see him in such a shameful light?!
Roy forced himself to suppress the urge to scream, clenched his teeth, and focused on digesting the potion.
He could feel the scorching flow moving through his body, from head to toe, inside and out, melding with him bit by bit.
The pale purple incense floated around him as if it was conscious, soothing his mind, while the green potion started bubbling up like it was boiling.
Lost in the promotion process, Roy actually found himself not too worried about the pain.
Phew, what’s the deal with this?
Becoming an Extraordinary Being isn’t as tough as I thought!
The digestion of the potion was going smoothly, and Roy suddenly felt a pang of regret over the affection points spent.
Seeing Roy stop twitching, Alice’s worried expression eased little by little, and she let out a long breath.
“Truly worthy of being the Master.”
They say Extraordinary Beings carry responsibilities far beyond ordinary folks, and while Alice respected her Master, she couldn’t help but feel a tad heartbroken.
If only she could become an Extraordinary Being too, she could help her Master.
Unfortunately, she wasn’t born noble, so taking a magic potion wouldn’t do her any good, right?
Even with Roy’s promise, Alice believed he wouldn’t abandon her, but she still felt lonely not being able to walk the path of becoming extraordinary with him.
Just then, Roy let out a loud scream.
“Master?!”
“Ugh, ahhhhhhhh——”
Roy could hear Alice’s panicked calls, but he was way too busy to respond.
This pain wasn’t coming from his body; it was all in his head.
It felt like his brain was about to split open, a deep-seated pain from his very soul!
What the hell is going on here?!
Roy remembered that this kind of headache usually happens during promotions to a higher sequence—too much extraordinary power affecting one’s soul.
But he had just chugged the potion; he wasn’t even close to a higher sequence yet, right?!
What the heck, old man! Are you messing with me?! This potion better not need diluting before drinking!
Roy desperately tried to scatter his thoughts, hoping to ignore the agony, but before long, the scene before his eyes twisted!
In the next second, the sights around him began to swirl.
As if some ancient, colossal, and majestic thing, glimpsed through frost that freezes everything and flames that burn the world, peeked through.
As if some graceful, evil, yet breathtakingly beautiful figure, laughed inhumanly beneath the scarlet moon and the pitch-black night.
Every brush with those unfathomable terrifying existences made Roy’s soul tremble, and he felt excruciating pain as if he were being ripped apart!
Oh man, this is bad.
The 【Blood of Iron】 potion couldn’t possibly cause this kind of effect!
These guys must be… evil gods!
The instant he realized this, Roy nearly had a heart attack from the fright.
But he quickly sensed something was off.
If he was truly staring down an evil god or had caught its attention, he would’ve been dead by now!
These non-humans had no malice.
Yet the situation was still dire.
Sometimes, extraordinary beings, even with no ill intentions, are a disaster just by existing!
Just like how humans might unintentionally harm ants, a single misplaced step could spell disaster for the ants!
Ancient murmurings and bizarre landscapes continued to flicker before Roy’s eyes.
As his soul was torn apart repeatedly, Roy’s consciousness finally began to blur.
It felt like being dragged into a dark abyss by indescribable monsters, falling into eternal darkness.
This is it…
It’s all over now…
