Chapter 66: A Moment of Warmth
Leanna suddenly opened her eyes.
Familiar dark curtains and classical decor greeted her, along with a somewhat blinding light from outside.
This was her own room.
Leanna propped herself up, her unclothed elegant curves slipping from the blankets, revealing a somewhat confused expression.
She remembered suffering from a backlash of her bloodline yesterday. Based on past experiences, even if she had been unconscious for a whole day and night, she should have woken up still aching all over and in a daze.
But now she felt refreshed, and the bloodline within her was remarkably calm.
As a breeze fluttered the bed curtains, she first looked at the endless blue sky with white clouds, then glanced at the empty bed next to her.
With her body feeling so good, she should be happy, yet for some reason, she felt a bit forlorn.
After a moment, a familiar figure walked into the room.
Kreya was momentarily stunned, then happily ran over. “President, you’re awake?!”
Leanna couldn’t help but smile, “Can’t you tell?”
“But usually, even if you’ve suppressed your bloodline, you’d still be unconscious for nearly a day! I didn’t expect that guy really…”
Mid-sentence, Kreya froze and quickly shut her mouth.
However, Leanna keenly sensed something unusual in her demeanor.
“That guy? Someone came to help me?”
“N-no, you must have misheard!”
Leanna squinted, pretending to be uncertain and asked, “Really? You’re not lying to me?”
“Of course not! When have I ever lied to the President?” Kreya forced a smile.
Looking at the cold sweat on the girl’s brow, Leanna understood and nodded, “That’s definitely true.”
For some reason, even without any evidence, Leanna instinctively thought of a certain figure.
With her eyes downcast, she wrapped herself up and murmured, “So, Roy has already left?”
Kreya trembled slightly.
Roy had instructed her not to tell Leanna he had come to help her as a way of repayment.
“Haha, President, you’re not still in a daze, are you? What does this have to do with Roy? Or are you just simply missing him?”
Leanna raised her head, staring intently at Kreya.
It was only when Kreya felt a chill from being scrutinized that her fake smile began to twitch, and Leanna finally shifted her gaze away.
“All right, you can go now.”
“Huh?”
“I’m going to lie down for a bit longer.”
“Oh.”
Kreya secretly sighed in relief and hurriedly left the room.
It was only at this moment that a hint of tenderness appeared at the corner of Leanna’s mouth.
She glanced at the unnatural depression beside her pillow and discovered a few strands of black hair that shouldn’t be there.
Gently reaching out, she felt a warmth that was fading but still held some residual heat.
“Weren’t you just playing around?”
As she murmured, Leanna lay down, pressing against the spot where the boy had been, as if she could see that figure waiting by the window.
Speaking of which, Kreya must have been the one to change her clothes, right?
Thinking of this, a rare blush crossed Leanna’s face, and she couldn’t help but chuckle helplessly.
Whether she gained something or lost it, she didn’t want to think too much about it.
Placing her hand where the boy had been and clenching it slightly, she peacefully closed her eyes in the warm morning breeze,
At this moment, that fleeting warmth was enough.
————————————
Today was the weekend.
Finally escaping the punishment of make-up classes, the elven girl came to Roy’s place to pass some time.
By the way, since Nia and Charlotte always came to stay over on weekends, the extra room had become their exclusive bedroom. Even the living room was adorned with decor they liked, such as knight armor and monster heads.
Roy didn’t really have any special preferences about room decor, so he was indifferent.
Today, he was once again enjoying Alice’s snacks when the elven girl, throwing knives at the target in the room, suddenly said out of the blue.
“You’ve been getting pretty close to that student council president lately.”
The knife hit the target dead center.
Roy, grabbing a snack in the living room, nearly choked. After finally swallowing, he pretended to be nonchalant and explained, “What are you talking about? I haven’t seen her much lately.”
That was the truth.
Although he had suppressed the backlash of Leanna’s demonic blood, it was only a temporary fix.
Leanna still needed to rest for a few days, so she hadn’t shown up recently.
Besides, Leanna preferred to manipulate things from behind the scenes, and the fact that she often needed to take time off was another reason why the head of the Black Magic faction wasn’t as publicly active as leaders from other factions.
He wondered how she’d been resting these past few days…
But Nia kept throwing those knives.
“Miss her after not seeing her for a while?”
“I’m not close with her, so why would I miss her?”
“Let me think, top student senior, plus long legs in black stockings?”
“…You’re thinking too much.” Roy took a sip of coffee, feeling guilty.
“Oh, that’s hard to say.”
Nia threw her last knife and then turned, hugging Roy from behind.
The elven girl was dressed quite casually, wearing nothing more than a thin top, and her ample assets pressed against the top of Roy’s head, causing him to feel pressure on multiple levels.
Roy’s face couldn’t help but heat up. “Don’t, don’t do this.”
Nia giggled, her own cheeks flushed, but she tightened her embrace around the boy a bit more, feigning nonchalance, “But I want to.”
“No, really, I have nothing going on with her.”
“Men’s mouths are deceitful; your words don’t count.” Nia called out to the little blonde maid busy in the kitchen, “Alice! Has your master really had nothing going on with the student council president?!”
Roy’s heart sank.
This could be bad.
He had clarified the misunderstanding from his previous visit to the student council room. But the fact that he had stayed over at Leanna’s place a few days ago was a big problem—Alice hadn’t asked much about it, so he had forgotten to remind her not to mention it.
Even if Alice didn’t embellish the story and just honestly said she spent a night at Leanna’s, that would be enough to get him in hot water!
Seeing the little maid in an apron bring over tea, Roy hurriedly tried to signal her.
However, the doll-like girl usually wore an expressionless face, leaving Roy unsure if she understood his meaning.
“Alice, tell me, while Charlotte and I aren’t around, has your master had any wild adventures with that bad woman?”
“Let me think…”
Alice fell silent, appearing to plunge into thought.
In those few short seconds, Roy didn’t even dare to breathe, fearing the little maid might blurt out something shocking.
Fortunately, Alice didn’t let him down.
“There was nothing.” Alice lowered her eyes, her tone a bit cold.
“No other business, Alice should go prepare dinner now.”
“Oh.”
Once Alice returned, Nia lowered her head, smiling sweetly with a slight dimple. “Wow, so you really didn’t find the senior attractive? Should I compliment you for that?”
Roy sighed in relief internally but smiled outwardly, “What do you take me for?”
However, just then, there was a knock at the door.
The little maid, who had just walked into the kitchen, immediately dashed to the door and came back with a letter in hand.
“Master, it looks like this is a letter from the student council president.”
Seeing the lipstick mark stamped on the envelope, Roy’s smile instantly froze.
