I’m Really Not Trying to Be Chased by the Heroine as the Villainous Playboy! – Chapter 365

Chapter 71: The Fox and the Warrior

A woman draped in a purple fox fur coat hugged her voluptuous curves, her long skirt slit deliberately flaunting a hint of creamy skin. A tear-shaped beauty mark under her eye added an extra touch of charm to her already alluring features.

If Leanna was a shadow behind a black veil, a subtle seduction, this woman resembled one of those sultry vixens from the red-light district, exuding an unapologetic sensuality.

In fact, she intentionally swayed her hips, reveling in the sea of fiery glances directed her way.

Leanna’s gaze turned icy, yet her lips curled into a smile: “Could you not compare me to a loose aunt like you?”

“Aunt…?” The woman’s eye twitched, a flash of murderous intent passed over her face, but she quickly forced a smile, “That mouth of yours is as irritating as ever.”

Leanna turned to Roy: “Weren’t we just saying there are clowns to watch out for? This is one of them.”

“She’s the notorious Extraordinary Being, Hera of the Black Fox, who rules the red-light district.”

Though Leanna’s tone was light, Roy sensed the gravity of the situation.

The seven most wanted criminals were all at least Sequence 7 Extraordinary Beings, and running a red-light district in Academy City implied some serious connections.

As the name Black Fox echoed through the crowd, the lustful gazes quickly grew cautious.

Nobles were far flung, but the seven most wanted were a present danger, controlling the underworld of Academy City.

The reputation of Black Fox was not that much better than the Serpent-Eyed Witch.

In fact, it might be worse.

While the witch brutally killed any man who dared to desire her, Black Fox did the opposite: she hunted men, completely dismantling them before disposing of them carelessly. Anything like candles or steel wool seemed childish; anyone who had seen the corpses of her discarded suitors would think twice about having any intentions toward her.

“By the way, I hear the Sword Demon is quite the handsome one. Why hide under such rags?” Hera strolled over, undeterred, her gaze scanning Roy with keen interest.

“If little sis can’t protect you, you can always come to big sis here, okay?”

Before Roy could respond, he felt a sharp squeeze at his waist.

He was shocked.

To think he had Steel Bones – how much strength did Leanna just use?!

“This whole getting in the way act is just too shallow,” Leanna mockingly retorted, pulling Roy even closer behind her, “I’m really curious where your confidence comes from to steal someone from me.”

“Do I even need to say? Of course, it’s in that aspect.”

“Little witch, I’ve heard you’re still a virgin, right? With your skills, can you really satisfy him? Only naive little boys like your type; experience and skill are what women should have,” Hera bantered, throwing a suggestive wink at Roy. “Mr. Sword Demon thinks so too, right?”

Roy didn’t dare to reply.

Leanna’s gaze was now cold enough to kill: “You don’t need to worry; he’s so obsessed with me he can’t even get out of bed.”

No, which parallel universe are you talking about?

Joking aside, Roy didn’t have the guts to meddle in a woman’s dispute. Thankfully, with the Shadow Veil hiding his face, he could conveniently ignore Hera and play dumb.

The onlookers exchanged strange glances.

The seven most wanted criminals had come together, and of course, their meeting couldn’t go without some power plays.

However, the current scene felt more like petulant schoolgirls fighting over a boy, which was a bit of a twist on what they expected.

Especially since neither the witch nor the Black Fox was a pushover; witnessing them drawn to each other made it hard to tell if they were envious or sympathetic.

But the standoff between the two women was soon interrupted.

A bright, discordant laugh rang out, like thunder striking in the atmosphere.

“Wow, what luck! At an auction and I run into two wanted criminals at once. My luck must be awesome!”

A man dressed simply, solidly built, casually waded through the crowd, scratching his head and taking in the scene with a hint of nostalgia.

He resembled a cheerful, carefree boy who had stumbled into a riot.

He was Hex, an A-Rank Adventurer invited by the Prince of the Southern Sea to the auction.

Roy, a prince himself, couldn’t make an appearance in such a setting, but Hex truly couldn’t resist the urge to join the fun.

As he appeared, murmurs ran through the crowd. Leanna frowned slightly, and Black Fox Hera visibly cringed.

He turned to Roy and introduced himself: “A-Rank Adventurer, Warrior Hex.”

“You’re the one who killed Black Claw?”

Hex surveyed the room, unable to pick up on Roy’s aura, which piqued his interest even more.

“Why are you hiding?”

“None of your business,” Roy replied coolly.

Hex didn’t seem discouraged by the cold reception. Instead, he muttered to himself, “Generally, only weaklings dive under cover and act like cowards, right?”

His gaze suddenly sharpened, and he stomped his foot.

In an instant, a powerful wave of extraordinary energy surged from Hex, causing everyone’s clothing to flutter wildly.

The hundreds of guests and servants around him were sent reeling, drinks spilled, and embarrassment ensued.

Even Black Fox nearly stumbled, sputtering in disbelief.

However, the black-clad swordsman, merely ten meters away, stepped forward, shielding the witch without retreating, as if the whole moment was just a gentle breeze.

Hex blinked, his expression brightening.

To face his pressure without flinching meant the other guy was at least Sequence 7.

“Seems like Mr. Sword Demon is no ordinary character.”

“But I must remind you to remember your identity and steer clear of these ruffians,” Hex shot a significant glance at Leanna, “Or don’t blame me for forgetting the bond of adventurers.”

“Are we really gonna fight?!”

“Dammit, this is an auction!”

“What are you waiting for, hurry up and call Mr. Loxus!”

Just as the crowd held its breath in fear of conflict, surprisingly, the Sword Demon responded with a cold defiance, his sharpness on display.

“I’ll give you a piece of advice, kid. Some things are better left unknown.”

Hex raised an eyebrow, his fighting spirit ignited.

What had started as a probe now turned into genuine interest.
