Chapter 143: Who’s the Real Pirate?
Leanna flipped her hair and whispered, “Hey, junior, could you help me put on my swimsuit?”
“I must decline! Is this what you call serious?!” Roy couldn’t help but roast her.
“C’mon, it’s just a swimsuit! What’s inappropriate about it? As a senior, I think people should stop wearing those yellow-tinted glasses when looking at things!”
You say that so grandly, but seriously, isn’t this a bit too much?! This is way beyond mere teasing!
Roy dared only to stare straight ahead, because if he looked even slightly to the side, he’d easily see things he really shouldn’t.
“Hurry up, it’s kinda cold like this.”
“Then you put it on yourself.”
Leanna spoke with a pout, “But I just got completely mushy from earlier, my fingers have no strength!”
Roy felt mentally drained and decided not to argue any further with this nonsense-spewing person.
Eventually, he took the swimsuit, extending his hands to put it on Leanna.
Roy struggled to find the words, “So, um…”
“Hmm?”
“Could you not block my way? Otherwise, I can’t help you wear it.”
“Oh…”
This was a tie-on swimsuit, so Roy put it on her first and then slowly tied it from the back.
During this, Leanna let out another strange sound, “Hmm~ it’s a bit tight…”
Roy helplessly loosened it a bit.
Weirdly enough, Leanna had this slender figure, yet her chest was almost on par with Nia’s—it was that kind of “you take off the clothes and there’s something there” type. Even without touching, just looking through the swimsuit, he could sense a heavy weight.
But Roy never imagined he’d ever get to have such close contact with that witch.
In the original work, Leanna was playful and teased Alice, but she was actually quite conservative and preferred to take initiative.
Yet now, here she was, so unguarded in front of him…
After finally tying the straps, Roy half-joked, “I really admire you for making a guy do this; I’m surprised you remain so calm.”
But then, the brown-haired girl suddenly turned with a smile.
The sea breeze messed up her hair, and her normally playful profile was now tinged with a blush so charming it felt a bit seductive.
It wasn’t the usual teasing she did; it was softer, as if showing some desire mixed with an enormous amount of shyness.
“Maybe I’m not as calm as I seem?”
“But, I don’t dislike your words, junior.”
Waves crashed against the surface, seagulls soared from the skies, and Roy couldn’t shake off the charm of that one smile that had turned his world upside down.
————————————
For the two girls a hundred miles away, things were initially going smoothly.
After Alice read “The Gray Maid,” her attitude did a complete 180, revealing Roy’s exact travel plans to them.
Ever since then, Alice was like a different person, either glued to “The Gray Maid” or sharpening swords non-stop, radiating a deadly aura.
They immediately set off to gather their teams, hire ships, and chase after him.
Just behind by a day, with a bit of effort, they’d catch up soon! Who knows, after snatching Roy back, they could totally replace that bad woman and enjoy a wonderful trip in the south with him.
However, they seriously underestimated the ocean.
They got lost.
Food and fresh water gradually ran out. In such a vast sea, even Extraordinary Beings would be helpless.
Of course, Charlotte had brought a large number of Gryphon Knights, so locating the nearest port for supplies with the Gryphons’ keen sense of smell wasn’t too difficult.
But if they did that, they’d never catch up to Leanna again.
On the deck, the noble kids from the Lionheart faction, the adventurers Nia had privately hired, and even the crew were sitting slumped in corners, staring blankly with hunger and fatigue, suffering under the blazing sun.
Finally, the Lionheart Princess couldn’t hold back her complaints, breaking the silence, “If it weren’t for someone rushing out and not taking enough supplies or hiring a proper team and ship, we would have arrived by now!”
The elven girl lying nearby got angry, “Hey, you can’t say that! It was that someone who rushed to take a shortcut, and then ended up hitting a current that caused us to get lost!”
The two shot daggers at each other for a moment, but then both sighed and leaned back against each other, sitting down weakly.
“I didn’t think it’d be tourist season; all the good sailors got hired away.”
“Ugh, and we hit the current—why is our luck so bad?”
Arguing was just wasting breath, and whining was no good either, but the two, feeling utterly defeated, couldn’t help but want to vent.
Nia stared blankly up at the sky and murmured, “I heard they hired a cruise ship.”
“Maybe that bad woman is currently sunbathing in a swimsuit with Roy.”
“Hey! Stop talking nonsense!” Charlotte spat, but deep down she felt a chill.
Because she noticed that this green tea elven girl sometimes had an uncomfortably accurate intuition…
But Charlotte bit her silver teeth and pumped herself up, “That bad woman is nothing to fear!”
“Just because she has a better figure!”
“Just because she’s a bit older!”
“Just because her personality’s a bit bolder!”
“She’s just last year’s school beauty, a mere student council president, and a witch… no, just a bad woman…”
Charlotte’s voice grew smaller until it was barely a whisper, tinged with tears, and she finally couldn’t hold back, burying her head in her knees.
As if all hope had burned away, turning into white ashes.
After a long silence, the two girls sighed in unison.
It felt like it was already too late…
Suddenly, a heavy object fell from the sky, splashing water high into the air.
The two girls looked up to see a sailboat, now much larger than theirs, approaching.
On the sailboat, a massive pirate flag waved, and standing at the bow was a grizzled old pirate, pipe in mouth, steel knife in hand.
The old pirate looked down at Charlotte and the others with excitement, nearly drooling.
As the most powerful pirate along this coastline, he had even made moves on noble ships before, stealing away noble daughters.
But this was the first time he encountered a ship with so many noble girls on it, and not just any kind!
“Listen up! Before you is Big Beard Gerald! The strongest pirate of the Southern Seas, an Extraordinary Being of Sequence 7!”
“I don’t want to harm women. Plus, I can see you all are utterly exhausted!”
“If you surrender and join my pirate crew, I promise you’ll get food and fresh water; otherwise…”
Gerald was stunned.
Because everyone on deck suddenly stood up and started moving.
It was the first time he encountered someone who proactively surrendered before he finished speaking.
And they all looked quite eager…
But Gerald quickly realized he was wrong.
Because each of them was holding steel swords, gathering fireballs, and summoning one Gryphon after another.
Their excited expressions resembled hungry lions encountering a fat little sheep—just like him a moment ago.
But this time, they were the hunters.
Leading the charge was a red-haired girl riding a golden-red Gryphon, calling out, “Did you all hear? Food and water belong to us now!”
Gerald: ???
Could someone respect my profession? Who exactly is the pirate here?!
