I’m Really Not Trying to Be Chased by the Heroine as the Villainous Playboy! – Chapter 468

Chapter 14: Reporting to the Academic Affairs Office!

Facing Enwei’s questioning, Roy nearly rolled his eyes. “If we really waited for you, we’d probably be in a monster’s belly right now.”

Enwei’s expression twitched but he managed a forced laugh. “As long as you’re okay, that’s all that matters.”

“Due to misinformation from the guild, this special training has been temporarily suspended. Of course, your credits will still be adjusted. Since everyone is fine, we can disband now…”

“Wait a minute, I’m not fine at all.” Roy coldly interrupted Enwei.

He had already heard from other classmates about the training being canceled.

“Teacher Enwei, why didn’t Alice and I receive the familiars you sent?”

Enwei paused, responding with a stiff smile. “That’s strange.”

“Maybe it’s because you were too busy running away, so you missed the familiar. Or the familiar might have been killed by a Sequence 6 ferocious monster.”

That excuse was somewhat reasonable.

However, what Enwei didn’t know was that the duo hadn’t been running in a panic; they were actually fighting monsters. If there had been a familiar sent, there’s no way they would have missed it.

“Then why did it take you so long to come to our rescue, Teacher Enwei?”

Roy pretended to be somber, sighing dramatically, “If we really had faced any danger, it would have been a big deal.”

Roy was feeling a bit personal about this.

If it weren’t for Alice’s extraordinary strength and his own presence, an ordinary Sequence 7 extraordinary being would have already been a snack for the monsters.

Enwei was dumbstruck.

His speed wasn’t exactly slow, but who would’ve known that these two got back before him?

It made him look like a pretty incompetent teacher!

The glances from the students turned towards him were filled with disdain and contempt.

Enwei’s expression twitched as he awkwardly laughed, “Haha, good thing you’re all fine. I guess the younger generation is indeed tougher than my time…”

Roy said nothing, just gave him a half-smile.

Until Enwei started to feel a bit uneasy, Roy finally withdrew his gaze, allowing Enwei to breathe a sigh of relief.

“It seems I was overthinking; I thought Teacher Enwei had some grudges and was intentionally giving us a hard time during the training.”

“Haha, how could that be?” Enwei wiped the sweat off his brow.

“But, since I’m just a student, it’s not right to suspect you without cause. So…”

Roy flashed a bright smile. “I think we should report this to the Academic Affairs Office and let them handle it.”

Enwei felt like he’d been hit by an invisible lightning bolt, freezing in place, his hair standing on end.

Students fear telling on teachers, just like employees fear reporting to the boss.

Over at the Academic Affairs Office, there were the leaders and superiors that gave Enwei the most anxiety.

“Wait, wait a minute! You must’ve misunderstood…”

“Goodbye, Teacher.”

With that, Roy turned around and left with Alice, not looking back.

He suspected that guy was intentionally targeting him, but had no proof. Still, there were many suspicious points about this training—better to let the professionals investigate.

Of course, if it were an ordinary student, reporting this would likely just make a big deal out of a small one.

But with his identity, the Academic Affairs Office probably wouldn’t dare cover for him.

Besides, though he said he’d report to the office, Roy had a perfect candidate for the situation in mind.

Hand it over to that “Ice Rose” who takes rules as law, and Enwei would have a mountain of trouble.

As the sun set, the duo returned home.

Today was the weekend, and three young girls had been waiting for them.

Familiar laughter echoed in the room. Usually, Alice liked to stay aside, watching the young boy and girls getting along, almost as if she was warmed by their camaraderie.

But today, she silently returned to her room.

Alice was quiet but not reclusive; her behaving this way was a first for the three girls.

The girls shot Roy reproachful looks, especially Nia, who thought he was being too harsh on Alice, leaving the young boy feeling awkward.

Rather than harsh, it was more like she was pushing herself too hard?!

Strangely enough, although the three girls didn’t get along well, they all showed a united care for Alice as if they were doting on a younger sister. This made Roy seriously doubt his family status.

However, Alice was oblivious to everything outside.

The usually capable girl didn’t even light the magic candle, lying languidly on her bed like a puddle of mud, not wanting to move as dusk fell.

Looking back, this special training was a complete disaster.

She had aimed to show her reliable side, wanting to earn the Master’s approval like the others.

But what happened?

She broke the brooch the Master had given her.

She failed to defeat the Heart-Eating Demon gracefully.

In the end, she had to trouble the Master for help, showing him her embarrassing state.

And she had even made the Master angry.

Yet, even so, he didn’t blame her.

The more she felt his kindness, the more Alice felt inadequate.

If it were them, they would definitely have performed better.

The Master must be disappointed in her.

Thinking this made Alice’s chest feel tight and hard to breathe.

Perhaps she should just be a humble maid, not aspiring for anything more.

The Master had given her enough gentleness; as a maid, why should she crave so much more?

Alice slightly lifted her head, making eye contact with her puppy doll.

She propped herself up, carefully cradling it in her arms.

Once, this doll was her happiness.

But now, she wanted more.

“Alice, you’ve unknowingly become greedy…”

With a family background that matched, bonds of life and death, and strength to fight alongside them, she had none of that.

With them, she was just a maid.

Such a self probably never had the qualifications to stand by the Master, let alone be noticed by him like they were.

“But that’s just fine.”

As a maid, it was natural to silently guard the Master’s happiness, wasn’t it?

Alice firmly patted her cheeks, casting away the complicated thoughts. Like a wound-up doll, she smoothly removed her uniform and changed into her maid outfit.

At last, she glanced in the mirror.

The blonde girl, with a cool expression and indifferent eyes, just like usual.

“This is good enough.”

No need to think about those unattainable desires anymore. Just do what she should do, what she could do; being the Master’s maid was enough.

Alice gently exhaled, completely suppressing the loneliness in her eyes, opened her door, walked towards the dining table by the kitchen, and asked in a flat tone, “Master, what would you like for dinner tonight…”

At that moment, a warm yellow light flooded in, blurring Alice’s vision.
