Chapter 14: Reporting to the Academic Affairs Office!

Facing Enwei’s questioning, Roy nearly rolled his eyes. “If we really waited for you, we’d probably be in a monster’s belly right now.”

Enwei’s expression twitched but he managed a forced laugh. “As long as you’re okay, that’s all that matters.”

“Due to misinformation from the guild, this special training has been temporarily suspended. Of course, your credits will still be adjusted. Since everyone is fine, we can disband now…”

“Wait a minute, I’m not fine at all.” Roy coldly interrupted Enwei.

He had already heard from other classmates about the training being canceled.

“Teacher Enwei, why didn’t Alice and I receive the familiars you sent?”

Enwei paused, responding with a stiff smile. “That’s strange.”

“Maybe it’s because you were too busy running away, so you missed the familiar. Or the familiar might have been killed by a Sequence 6 ferocious monster.”

That excuse was somewhat reasonable.

However, what Enwei didn’t know was that the duo hadn’t been running in a panic; they were actually fighting monsters. If there had been a familiar sent, there’s no way they would have missed it.

“Then why did it take you so long to come to our rescue, Teacher Enwei?”

Roy pretended to be somber, sighing dramatically, “If we really had faced any danger, it would have been a big deal.”

Roy was feeling a bit personal about this.

If it weren’t for Alice’s extraordinary strength and his own presence, an ordinary Sequence 7 extraordinary being would have already been a snack for the monsters.

Enwei was dumbstruck.

“It seems I was overthinking; I thought Teacher Enwei had some grudges and was intentionally giving us a hard time during the training.”

“Haha, how could that be?” Enwei wiped the sweat off his brow.

“But, since I’m just a student, it’s not right to suspect you without cause. So…”

Roy flashed a bright smile. “I think we should report this to the Academic Affairs Office and let them handle it.”

Enwei felt like he’d been hit by an invisible lightning bolt, freezing in place, his hair standing on end.

Students fear telling on teachers, just like employees fear reporting to the boss.

Over at the Academic Affairs Office, there were the leaders and superiors that gave Enwei the most anxiety.

With that, Roy turned around and left with Alice, not looking back.

He suspected that guy was intentionally targeting him, but had no proof. Still, there were many suspicious points about this training—better to let the professionals investigate.

Of course, if it were an ordinary student, reporting this would likely just make a big deal out of a small one.

But with his identity, the Academic Affairs Office probably wouldn’t dare cover for him.

As the sun set, the duo returned home.

Today was the weekend, and three young girls had been waiting for them.

Familiar laughter echoed in the room. Usually, Alice liked to stay aside, watching the young boy and girls getting along, almost as if she was warmed by their camaraderie.

But today, she silently returned to her room.

Alice was quiet but not reclusive; her behaving this way was a first for the three girls.

The girls shot Roy reproachful looks, especially Nia, who thought he was being too harsh on Alice, leaving the young boy feeling awkward.

Strangely enough, although the three girls didn’t get along well, they all showed a united care for Alice as if they were doting on a younger sister. This made Roy seriously doubt his family status.
