Chapter 133: It’s Bath Time!
“Miss Xue Nuo, can you tell us more about our story?”
During dinner, Roy asked this question.
He remembered some fragmented details but couldn’t connect them all. He needed someone to clearly outline the narrative.
Xue Nuo paused slightly, set down her knife and fork, and calmly met the young boy’s curious gaze before slowly beginning to speak.
“We met at the Academy…”
Their fateful encounter at the Academy led to learning and growing together, sometimes embarking on adventures, and sometimes going out on dates. Many frustrating things happened along the way, but with each other’s company, they weathered the winter nights and welcomed beautiful dawns.
Until the imperial prince forced a marriage, shattering their peace but also giving their feelings a chance to evolve; it was then that they became lovers. They subsequently supported each other to fend off the invading imperial royalty and the Demon Race.
Wow, a classic blend of school romance and fantasy adventure!
Roy reflected on this and as his memory cleared, he found that Xue Nuo’s recounting matched up with what he could recall, which made him breathe a sigh of relief.
Xue Nuo must not be lying; they were indeed lovers, right?
Looking at the young boy settling down, Xue Nuo pursed her lips, her heart aching faintly.
She had revealed everything to Roy, except for two things.
They were master and apprentice.
And they were not actually lovers.
How dirty of her.
Even if just for once, she wanted to be Roy’s lover.
However, as memories returned, Roy would eventually notice the differences.
As his mentor, how could she be unsatisfied and lost in forbidden thoughts despite his care?
Once his memories fully came back, he would surely look down on her.
Shamefully, she still wanted to indulge in this dream that was bound to fade away.
In her sorrow, she thought of drowning it in wine.
Xue Nuo called over a nearby maid and simply said two words: “Pour wine.”
The maid hesitated and nervously asked, “Are you sure?”
Xue Nuo was prohibited from drinking by Count Barley’s orders to all the maids.
Roy curiously asked, “Miss Xue Nuo, do you happen to have poor alcohol tolerance?”
At these words, Xue Nuo suddenly became displeased.
Saying that people from the Empire had poor drinking skills was like suggesting that people from the Kingdom couldn’t fight, those from the South Sea didn’t know how to swim, or that those from the Magic Nation were ignorant and illiterate.
Especially coming from a beloved student, a lover’s inquiry.
This was a humiliation that Xue Nuo could not tolerate!
“Overthink it. My tolerance isn’t great, but it’s up to the Empire’s average standard. Besides, as an Extraordinary Being, expelling alcohol with my Extraordinary Power is not difficult.”
Xue Nuo pushed her empty wine glass forward and commanded for the second time: “Pour wine.”
Even though she hadn’t been formally appointed as Duchess, her identity as the future Duke of the Border was already acknowledged by the people, giving her a status higher than Count Barley.
Under an order from her superior’s superior, the maid dared not oppose and could only obediently pour her a glass of low-alcohol red wine.
At that moment, Roy suddenly felt a deep, instinctive unease that transcended memory and logic, causing cold sweat to trickle down his back.
He had a nagging feeling that letting her drink would lead to something unforeseen!
“Miss Xue Nuo? Are you really sure your alcohol tolerance is good?”
Xue Nuo smiled lightly without answering. In front of the young boy, she raised her glass, skillfully swirling the wine gently before downing it with elegance.
Roy couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief.
“Looks like I was overthinking it.”
“Hmph, it’s not some imperial specialty vodka. This low-grade red wine, I definitely…”
She stopped mid-sentence.
With a thud, Xue Nuo collapsed onto the dining table, shocking both Roy and the maid.
Five minutes later, Roy declined the maid’s frantic offers for help and managed to carry the limp Xue Nuo back to her room.
Was this the Empire’s average standard?!
Then your Empire’s drinking abilities must be lacking too!?
Just earlier, Roy had been curious enough to sniff the wine and found the flavor nearly faint as grape juice! And this is what had brought her down?!
“Miss Xue Nuo, it’s best if you don’t push yourself next time.”
“I-I didn’t push myself; I-I’m not drunk!”
“……That’s your pillow. I’m behind you.”
With slightly disheveled hair and a dazed look, the girl turned around, fiercely reiterating, “I’m not drunk!”
“Not drunk……”
Hardly had he finished speaking when she began to sway, her fierce glare softening, as if she might tumble onto the bed.
“Sigh, Miss Xue Nuo, you should really get some rest. We’ll see each other tomorrow.”
With a wry smile, Roy was about to turn around when he suddenly felt a firm grip on his hand.
Even in her drunken state, she had a surprising strength that he couldn’t resist.
The silver-haired girl stammered with tear-glimmering eyes that had replaced their usual coldness, like a little wolf that couldn’t quite growl, “N-No, you can’t go, you’re not allowed to leave…”
“There’s still so much we could do, lover’s things, you can’t go!”
When people get drunk, their emotions can get out of hand.
Looks like Miss Xue Nuo wasn’t entirely cold all the way through after all.
Intrigued, Roy patiently advised, “There’s really no need to rush?”
“The future days are still very long, right?”
At those words, Xue Nuo’s heart trembled violently, more tears welling in her eyes.
The future between them was clearly limited.
Even with her mind swirling, that point pierced deeply in her heart.
“No, we must, we must do it now!” Xue Nuo suddenly lunged forward, wrapping her arms around Roy’s waist and refusing to let go.
Her soft hands began to roam around in a way that startled Roy.
Not there!
Even boys have places that can’t be touched, hey!
“Okay, okay! I promise I’ll do anything with you!”
With those words, Xue Nuo calmed down slightly.
However, the next thing she said utterly stunned Roy.
Tilting her head with an adorable yet clingy smile, she said, “So now, let’s go take a bath.”
————————
No one could stop a drunk Xue Nuo, not Roy, not the maid, and not even the Count and Countess.
Even if they wanted to intervene, they were nearly turned into ice sculptures by Xue Nuo’s furious outburst.
Everyone could only watch helplessly as she domineeringly dragged the despairing young boy into the bathroom, completely at a loss.
Brittany, covered in dark lines, muttered, “Isn’t this progress a bit too fast…?”
Of course, they supported Xue Nuo in seizing the man.
But, if this solitary man and woman ended up with an unexpected pregnancy, wouldn’t the other girls go to war out of anger?!
They say romance is like a battlefield, but for one man, we can’t really ignite a global war, right?
The old Count wore a worried look, yet forced a smile, “Though Xue Nuo is drunk, Mr. Roy should be sensible.”
Brittany furrowed her brows, “What if the little white wolf forces him?”
“With Mr. Roy’s strength, he should be fine defending himself… probably.”
