Chapter 133: The Heat Between Us
Rolynn, lounging with her legs crossed and a wicked grin, said, “Why bother treating it? Just let your little angel take care of you for life!”
“Ugh, back in the day, I dreamed of being pampered by a handsome guy!”
“… Don’t give me that pitying look!”
Under Roy’s resentful stare, Rolynn had to raise her hands in surrender, “Alright, I’ll stop teasing you.”
She straightened up, legs still crossed, and pointed her finger, adjusting her demeanor slightly: “The Holy Light that is eroding you essentially comes from the Goddess’s flames.”
“Still Holy Light, but the Goddess’s power is on a whole other level, far superior. With Alice’s current abilities, it’s tough to eradicate it completely.”
“So, it’s either ramp up the power output—”
Roy immediately shot that down: “No way! Recklessly letting Alice use ‘Seraph’ will just stir up the Goddess’s soul; the risk is too high.”
During the battle with the Pope, the Goddess’s power had already started to spiral out of control. Luckily, Alice managed to digest that portion and use it.
But ‘Seraph’ is definitely a double-edged sword.
If it doesn’t work and Alice ends up controlled by the Goddess again, that would be a disaster.
Rolynn nodded slightly, “So, we need to use the second method.”
Roy held his breath, listening intently.
But what Rolynn said next was utterly shocking.
“Sleep with her.”
Roy was stunned for several seconds before managing a single word: “… Huh?”
“Sleep with her.” Rolynn shrugged, bewildered as to why he didn’t get it.
“Did I say it too softly? Get in bed, do the deed, the whole baby-making harmony—get it?”
“Stop, stop, stop!” Roy covered his head and waved his hands repeatedly.
How could she just come out with something like that?!
“Seriously, if you don’t get it, don’t start with raunchy jokes!”
Roy shot her a look of disdain, completely grossed out.
But Rolynn’s expression turned serious: “I’m dead serious.”
“Kissing is the simplest form of soul connection, but—doing it is the deepest form.”
“Mind and body intertwined, there’s no separating, it can let Alice’s Holy Light seep into every corner of your bloodline.”
Rolynn rested her chin on her hand, leaning back casually, “This not only heals the Holy Light eroding you but also greatly benefits your bloodline advancement.”
“Oh, did you not know? The ‘False King’ must draw divinity from the Saint’s bloodline to ascend to higher tiers. In other words, you have to do it with her, even for advancement!”
“Wait…”
The shocking revelation left Roy feeling dizzy.
Who could have thought the deeply troubling secret behind the ‘False King’s’ ascension was so crude and simple?
So, in order to ascend, one must harmonize with a Saint?!
Single guys don’t get to be high-tier?!
No wonder there have been so few ‘False Kings’ reaching higher tiers.
Saints have been under the Church’s control since ancient times, and even if a ‘False King’ somehow dodged the cultists and advanced to the middle tier, without a Saint’s help, they ultimately hit a wall before reaching higher tiers.
Roy suddenly caught a blind spot: “But weren’t you with Angela…”
Rolynn nearly choked on her drink.
She quickly defended herself: “I never did anything to betray your dad! Sacrificing my soul as fuel just to forcibly raise the ‘False King’s’ bloodline was all!”
To heal the Holy Light erosion and let the ‘False King’ ascend, one must always couple with the Saint.
The Holy Light Goddess can suppress even the most focused of beings at the soul level.
Combining with an angel’s holy blood is undoubtedly beneficial with zero harm.
But Roy clenched his fists and shook his head firmly: “I can’t do that.”
Once he speaks, Alice will agree to whatever he asks.
It’s precisely because of her unwavering trust that Roy didn’t want to violate her feelings.
“Even for the sake of healing the Holy Light erosion, I can’t hurt… why are you laughing?”
The black-haired woman smirked amusingly.
She looked like an older sister reveling in the innocence of a younger one, which made Roy a little irritated.
“You just said that, so it seems you’re still a virgin, huh.”
What?!
How did she figure that out?!
As Roy stared in disbelief, Rolynn took on the demeanor of a wise elder and sighed: “You guys always think only you’re lustful but have no clue girls are the same.”
“Cherishing a girl isn’t wrong, but if you’ve already won her heart yet you don’t take that step, you’ll just come off as indecisive. What’s up? You’re willing to fight the Church for her but not brave enough to take her body?”
Rolynn patted his shoulder, speaking like a mother: “Don’t keep a girl waiting too long.”
Well, she’s definitely speaking from experience; she made some sense, at least on the surface.
However, while this may work with other girls, Alice struggles with even a kiss; proposing this right away might scare her off!
Roy remembered how nervous the little maid got when they just shared a bed.
He pondered for a while and finally sighed in resignation, “Let’s wait a bit.”
Even putting aside the healing of the erosion and the need for bloodline advancement, as a normal guy, it’s impossible to say he didn’t want to do that.
But no matter what, he must get Alice’s consent first.
And then there’s Charlotte and the others; that’s another issue.
Roy hadn’t taken that first step because the girls still disagreed on who should go first.
They agreed to treat each other equally, but he had no way to clone himself; there had to be an order.
None of them would admit defeat, and no matter whom he took that first step with, it would ignite fury.
His gut told him if he didn’t handle this well, there would be quite the uproar.
The next morning.
Alice always woke up earlier than him.
By the time Roy opened his eyes, the golden-haired girl had already tidied herself up, preparing warm water and a towel for him since he was injured and couldn’t get out of bed. At the foot of the bed, his clothes for today were neatly folded, and under a warming cover lay breakfast, freshly made by Alice herself.
When Alice noticed Roy waking up, she bowed slightly: “Master, good morning.”
“Good morning. But you don’t have to be so formal; if anyone should bow, it’s me to the Saintess!”
“Um, I’m used to it…”
While saying this, Alice arranged the cutlery for him with care.
Her soft, golden hair shone brightly in the morning light, and her fair face looked pure and elegant in the gentle breeze, just like soft clouds.
Dressed in pure white priestly robes embroidered with golden holy marks, she radiated an aura of elegance and sanctity, untouched by any stain.
Honestly, not just Alice, but Roy himself wasn’t accustomed to the shift from maid to Saintess.
“What’s wrong?” Alice looked over at him.
Gazing into her clear, watery eyes made it even harder for Roy to speak.
How shameless would he have to be to directly tell such a pure girl that he wanted to “do the deed” with her?!
Desire didn’t exist, but the warmth of the moment seemed pretty nice too.
“Nothing, just think Alice is really cute.”
“Eh?”
The Saintess retorted lightly, seeming shocked, blushing and at a loss, making Roy chuckle.
“Not teasing you…”
Roy dove into his morning routine, washing away his thoughts, unaware that Alice’s gaze subtly shifted elsewhere.
There was curiosity, anxiety, and a hint of… heat.
Sure enough, it was standing up, huh.
Roy concealed his male desires well, but unfortunately, the body had its own ideas.
Especially when he was asleep.
The girl who got up even earlier than Roy had already noticed the unavoidable physiological response typical of adolescent males…
