Chapter 8: A World Where Only One Person Gets Hurt
Anyone who’s been in this situation knows how hard it is to sleep when there’s a sound that resembles a kitten yowling in the background.
Especially when that person playing with the kitten is your beloved.
Thinking about it, why do I feel so… green?!
After waiting for the noise to die down, Nia finally started to feel sleepy.
However, before long, another round of rustling came from next door.
Hey, aren’t you guys done yet?!
This time, Nia couldn’t hold back anymore.
She jumped out of bed, ready to kick open the door and accuse the two of them of disturbing the peace and stealing her sunshine in the middle of the night.
But just as she reached Roy’s door, she froze.
“Master, my master… Alice will always be your dog, woof~”
Nia was genuinely taken aback, her green eyes wide with disbelief.
No way, no way?! I can let Charlotte with her flat chest slide, but how did little Alice get in on this too?!
Even though Alice always talked seriously about wanting to be Roy’s dog, Nia thought it was just a joke—she never imagined Alice would really go through with it!
The usually obedient and sensible maid, the pure and holy Destined Saintess, willingly played the dog at night.
If she hadn’t heard it with her own ears, she truly couldn’t have imagined it!
To be honest, Nia would have loved to interrupt Charlotte’s little escapade, but interfering with her best friend Alice felt a bit too much.
As the barking grew wilder, Nia, now completely embarrassed, had no choice but to roll back into her room.
Just hold on, just hold on, it’ll pass.
As a healthy young girl, at this point, Nia absolutely couldn’t fall asleep.
Not that it mattered; for an Extraordinary Being, staying up all night wasn’t a big deal.
But as she listened, she felt herself getting overwhelmed.
Summer nights were stifling, and even the evening breeze couldn’t cool the flutter in Nia’s heart, her ears burning hot.
Burying her head in the blanket, fidgeting with her creamy white legs, listening to the mixed sounds of pleasure and pain, along with a barely noticeable boy’s gasping from next door, Nia’s eyes grew increasingly wet as she bit down on her lip in humiliation.
Why?
Having someone she liked and a good friend should double her happiness, right?
So why did she have to listen to her beloved and best friend’s voices doing… that?!
No matter how pitiful her heart felt, her fingers still slid down uncontrollably.
The blanket quivered as if the evening breeze were sending ripples through the leaves, wave after wave stretching out.
Morning.
At the Magic Academy, morning hours were relatively relaxed, which meant Roy and the others had calm mornings.
The little maid in an apron was already busy in the kitchen, with Charlotte still a bit groggy, hair disheveled, and Roy sitting at the table, yawning occasionally.
Like flowers that had received ample nourishment, the two girls appeared even more stunning than usual. Even their simple maid skirts and slightly messy red uniforms couldn’t hide the faint charm radiating from within.
In contrast, Roy seemed a bit lackluster.
For high-ranking Extraordinary Beings, pulling an all-nighter wasn’t a big issue; especially for Roy, who had protection from the True Ancestor of the Blood Clan—he could go for three days and nights without blinking. For him to yawn was a significant warning.
But the one who looked the worst at the table was actually the elven girl.
“Nia, you look a bit off,” Alice said worriedly as she brought a plate over.
“Is it because your bloodline is unstable after reaching sequence 5?” Roy asked with concern.
Nia, sporting dark circles under her eyes and drooping ears, looked like she had been run over, managing only an awkward but polite smile.
“Uh, yeah, something like that.”
It’s all because of you damn folks!
One day or two, fine. Nia initially planned to endure.
But she never expected these guys to act like randy beasts, carrying on every single night!
Meowing and barking all night long for a whole week—it was like she could still hear those bizarre sounds even in her dreams!
Thanks to them, Nia suffered from insomnia and developed a weird habit—whenever she heard similar noises, she couldn’t help but want to join in on the fun.
Every night, she’d swear that she wouldn’t break her vow, but once the commotion started next door, she found herself getting swept away, writhing in bed.
Then, after an experience that wasn’t exactly pleasant, she’d end up feeling lonely and empty.
After finally getting rid of Leanna and Xue Nuo, with no one fighting over her and no one to discipline her, she ended up being tormented—every time she thought about this, she wanted to cry.
By the end of the week, Nia was increasingly irritated, and her heart finally started to harbor resentment.
Why could they, but she couldn’t?
Clearly, her room was right next door—why didn’t they invite her to join in too?!
The more she thought, the angrier she got, and the angrier she got, the more she wanted.
The side of Roy that was solely reserved for the night—strong, rough, and mischievous—had never been revealed to her, which made Nia feel a bit anxious.
This couldn’t go on any longer.
Why should they be the ones tempted by him, while she was ignored? At least when it came to door sizes, she could easily wipe the floor with them!
With a fierce determination, Nia angrily shoved some fried eggs into her mouth before moving over to Roy, wrapping her arms around his neck.
“Hey, do you have time this weekend? Let’s go out and have some fun~”
“Stinky man, you haven’t been hanging out with me lately.”
As she spoke, Roy’s old shirt struggled to contain his fullness, and Nia even remembered to lightly breathe into his ear.
The casual physical contact would usually make other girls turn pale. This was not just a pout; it was a warning and provocation to the other girls.
“I can if you want…”
Roy forced himself to divert his gaze from the enticing closeness to the other two girls, seeking their opinions.
“Don’t mind Alice.”
“Yeah, it’s no big deal to go out and have some fun occasionally.”
The seemingly friendly and tolerant demeanor felt to Nia like a victor’s parting gift.
Putting Alice aside, didn’t Nia see Charlotte’s hidden superiority complex?
That arrogant smile was clearly saying, “You can have this much,” which was infuriating enough to make her want to gnash her teeth.
“Hah, hahah, then it’s settled?”
“Uh-huh.” Roy nodded slightly.
Hmph, what’s the use of running away? The one who laughs last is the winner! You guys only managed to climb the ranks while I’m not around Roy!
Just wait—once I get serious, won’t it be easy to take you down?!
As she left, the elven girl whispered softly in Roy’s ear: “Just wait to see what this weekend has in store~”
Roy shuddered, his body tensing as he looked at the elven girl, unsure of what to say, feeling a bit nervous.
