Ku Wuchang’s exit was anything but peaceful…
Just as he fully activated the power of the Token to suppress Hong Qianye, she let out a cold laugh, swinging her sleeve fiercely.
Boom!
The enormous snow-white wolf claw shattered into pieces.
“What?!” Ku Wuchang’s face went pale, and he quickly glanced at the Token in his hand, discovering it was now covered in cracks and completely lost its spirit.
Next thing he knew, he was yanked by a powerful force, rolling off the throne in a disheveled state, crashing to the ground and immobilized, his bones creaking as if a divine mountain was crushing him.
“A mere firefly dares to compete with the bright moon!”
In front, Hong Qianye’s voice dripped with disdain.
At that moment,
Ku Wuchang’s previous arrogance vanished, replaced by sheer terror as he stammered, “Sect Leader, spare me! I was just joking with you earlier!”
“Shut up, you shameless fool! You think you can just call the Sect Leader’s name? You’re not even worth being a member of the Fire Cult!” Gui Jianchou scolded angrily.
After witnessing Hong Qianye’s strength, he knew Ku Wuchang was utterly powerless now.
“Nonsense! I am at least an organizer of the Fire Cult! The methods might be questionable, but my intentions were good. The current scale of the Fire Cult was built by my hands; even if I have no credit, I have worked hard!”
Ku Wuchang was sweating profusely, regretting his actions as he never anticipated that Hong Qianye’s power was this formidable, strong enough to break even the Token given by the Snow Wolf King.
There was no choice left but to struggle in desperation, hoping to grasp even a slim chance of survival.
“Ridiculous! Without you waving around a chicken feather as a token, I could still summon experts from the Demonic Path in the Central Region!”
Hong Qianye’s tone suddenly turned icy, “Moreover, it’s because of you that so many of my willing followers are dead! For this great sin, to me, you are a dead man walking!”
Feeling the overwhelming killing intent, Ku Wuchang bit back his fear and gritted his teeth, “Red Demon! I have backing; they are legendary Immortal Kings! If you kill me, your ending will definitely be miserable!”
Upon hearing this,
Hong Qianye was taken aback, a flicker of surprise in her eyes, “Another one from ancient times has awakened, I see.”
From the Eastern Domain to the Central Region, these beings were appearing more frequently, and it was not a good sign for contemporary cultivators.
It would shatter the existing order and unleash chaos!
But now with her increased strength, Hong Qianye felt even more confident and didn’t view Ku Wuchang as much of a threat.
Are Immortal Kings that powerful?
My master and I have killed a few before!
“Die.”
Hong Qianye’s eyes shone with cold light as she pointed her finger lightly, sending a wisp of black flame that eerily merged into Ku Wuchang’s body.
Ku Wuchang’s expression changed drastically; the pain made him break out in a cold sweat, and he howled, “Aaaahhhhh…”
He felt as if millions of insects were gnawing at him, with his divine soul suffering immense agony.
Before Gui Jianchou’s horror-struck gaze, Ku Wuchang visibly transformed into a puddle of blood.
“Send out the order, Ku Wuchang has been dealt with. From now on, the Fire Cult shall officially be on the right track,” Hong Qianye waved her sleeve, her tone leaving no room for argument.
“Understood, Sect Leader!”
Gui Jianchou clasped his fists and replied respectfully.
Soon after, the order echoed through the Fire Cult’s base, shocking all the followers.
Hong Qianye also revised the internal hierarchy, placing the Vice-Sect Leader beneath her, followed by four Grand Kings, then the Branch Leaders, Hall Masters, Elite Disciples, Regular Disciples, and Novice Disciples.
And she promptly enhanced the reward system, ensuring her subordinates remained motivated and spirited!
After handling that, Hong Qianye intended to head back to Litang City.
“Sect Leader, do you need me to follow you?”
“Don’t forget, you’re the Vice-Sect Leader, you should stay here to manage things. While I am gone, you must handle internal affairs well—you must not disappoint my trust!”
“Sect Leader! I, Gui Jianchou, vow to dedicate my life to the Fire Cult!”
“Hmm. If anything crucial comes up, just contact me through your communication ring; I will respond.”
“Farewell, Sect Leader!!”
As he watched the departing figure, Gui Jianchou knelt on the ground, tears in his eyes as he cried out.
Meanwhile, the aloof Hong Qianye hurried to Litang City.
Deep inside, she had a nagging suspicion that the real mastermind behind everything was about to reveal itself…
Litang City.
The Ding family estate was bustling with activity.
An old man in red clothing with a black eyepatch over his left eye and skin flushed as if from high altitude found an excuse to slip away. As he exited the building, a look of sorrow crossed his face.
Once the king of Litang, now a mere clown.
This massive psychological gap left Ding Zhen feeling quite unsettled.
“Grrr…”
Suddenly, a low growl from the Snow Leopard behind startled Ding Zhen, causing him to instinctively turn around and snap,
“Snow Leopard, shut up!”
Just as he finished speaking,
His pupils shrank, and a sense of crisis washed over him.
Swish! The Snow Leopard lunged like a flash of lightning, raising its paw and slapping Ding Zhen hard across the face.
Ding Zhen was caught off guard, and he flew backward, crashing through several buildings, dust and debris flying, drawing countless screams in his wake.
Amidst the ruins, Ding Zhen coughed violently a few times, half of his face marked with a clear red palm print. His head was spinning as he gazed in disbelief and muttered, “Snow Leopard, you’ve changed…”
He never expected that his partner, the Snow Leopard, would give him such a fierce beating!
Do you know how much damage a serious beating does to me?
Recovering from his surprise, Ding Zhen stood up furiously, “Snow Leopard! How dare you attack your own master!”
Theoretically, the Snow Leopard was only a True Immortal, and with his cultivation level, he could have easily handled it. But the problem was, Ding Zhen never anticipated being attacked by his most trusted combat partner one day.
I let my guard down!
But facing Ding Zhen’s righteous fury, the Snow Leopard’s eyes were utterly lost, standing there like a marionette.
And behind it, a towering being with a wolf’s head and a man’s body strode forth, its thick snowy fur and eyes like cold stars, a mocking smile on its lips.
As it came into view, the snowflakes floating in the air froze in place like a still picture.
“You, who are you…” Ding Zhen’s scalp tingled with fear as he asked suspiciously.
The Snow Wolf King sneered, “Though there was a hiccup, I still gained something; your Ice Spirit Immortal Pearl, I’ll be taking it.”
Ding Zhen’s heart sank, and he pulled out the Ice Spirit Immortal Pearl from his robe, pointing it threateningly at the Snow Wolf King. “Get out of Ding’s estate now, or I will use this treasure, and you’ll regret it!”
The Snow Wolf King scoffed, “Foolish human, who do you think you’re scaring? I already know you’re in no condition to use the Ice Spirit Immortal Pearl.”
“Wha—?!”
Ding Zhen’s expression turned a bit frantic, “How do you know?”
“Telling you doesn’t matter; I had the Snow Leopard monitoring your every move,” the Snow Wolf King chuckled. “The Ice Spirit Immortal Pearl, a treasure of its kind, is not something you can lay your hands on.”
“So my Snow Leopard was under your control…” Ding Zhen’s face turned ugly; he knew his once-trusty partner could never act so suspiciously.
“Hand it over!”
The Snow Wolf King waved its hand, snatching the Ice Spirit Immortal Pearl. Grasping the ice-blue, fist-sized pearl, it wore an expression of thrill and excitement.
Because it could clearly sense the overwhelming ice power contained within, enough to freeze thousands of miles and bring forth the Ice Age!
As one of the awakened beings from ancient times, the Snow Wolf King knew that to seize the advantage, it had to act first; it needed enough leverage to compete with other awakeners for the fabled resources!
Now, with the Ice Spirit Immortal Pearl, not only would it gain even more terrifying strength, but its future cultivation speed could be described as astonishing, and reaching Immortal Emperor or even Immortal Sovereign was entirely possible.
“The era belonging to me, the Snow Wolf King, has finally arrived!”
“Awwooo~!!”
In a state of euphoric excitement, the Snow Wolf King threw its head back and let out a magnificent howl that echoed through the Ding estate, shaking Litang City and sending countless cultivators trembling in fear, their internal dread spilling forth like a flood.
Suddenly,
From afar, a voice filled with impatience rang out from the upper floors,
“Who’s barking like a dog?!”
