Limitless Ascension: Strength Amid Adversity – Chapter 635

After a brief exchange of pleasantries, Ye Junlin and the others continued their journey towards the Immortal Court.

This time, Ah Kun was serving as their mount.

Boom, boom, boom~

Amid countless astonished gazes, a mythical creature, resembling a giant whale, flapped its wings, riding the swirling currents, and soared at great speed towards the end of the Heavenly Road.

“True to the legend, this divine beast Kunpeng can reach speeds that even many Immortal Emperors can’t match!” Bu Qianfan exclaimed in surprise.

“This Kunpeng will probably surpass even me once it breaks through to the Immortal Emperor stage,” Li Ruotong sighed.

Upon hearing this, Ah Kun couldn’t help but speak up, “Lady, please refer to me as Kun Ye from now on!”

“What?” Li Ruotong froze, her beautiful eyes revealing her shock.

Ye Junlin grumbled, “Go, go, go! Don’t be so impudent!”

“Oh,”

Ah Kun reluctantly complied, sulking in silence.

For some reason, he really enjoyed being called Kun Ye!

“Your mount is quite amusing…” Li Ruotong said with a strange expression.

Ye Junlin shrugged, “That’s just his nature; he’s a bit too eccentric.”

“Master, what title do you think I should have once I break through to the Immortal Emperor stage?” Ah Kun suddenly asked, curiosity sparked.

With his bloodline powers fully activated and having devoured a wealth of heavenly materials at the Ten Thousand Buddhas Sect, he figured he would break through to the Immortal Emperor soon without waiting to reach adulthood.

He knew that upon breaking through, he would have his own title, so he sought Ye Junlin’s opinion.

One couldn’t help but feel sorry for Shijia Shengsi; after mountain climbing Ah Kun, he poured countless resources and efforts into his training.

He expected to gain a flashy mount and an incredible fighter, but in this outing, all his efforts turned into someone else’s bridal dowry!

Hearing this, Ye Junlin casually replied, “Is that even up for debate? Just call yourself Kun Emperor when the time comes! It’s simple and easy to remember, plus it fits your status!”

Kun Emperor?

Ah Kun contemplated those two words, his eyes sparkling with excitement as a grin spread across his face,

“Great! I’ll be called Kun Emperor then!”

Little did he know, this title would one day resound throughout the vast universe, becoming a legendary existence revered by countless demon clans…

Before long, the group arrived at the end of the Heavenly Road.

At the top of the heavens, the majestic Immortal Court floated in mid-air, radiating millions of beams of immortal light, with auspicious energy swirling around, truly divine.

At the South Heavenly Gate, a large number of heavenly soldiers stood guard, all clad in silver-white armor, armed with war soldiers, their gazes sharp and postures tall like spears.

Leading them was a stocky, hairy Middle-aged Man, adorned in splendid golden armor with a fierce dragon design etched on his chest. His face appeared pale as he forced a strained smile to welcome every arriving Immortal Emperor.

This Middle-aged Man was the Dragon General, tasked with guarding the South Heavenly Gate!

After the last incident with the Heavenly Execution Pavilion, the Dragon General had completely lost his temper and readily conceded, especially since there was no evidence against his status, he was released and reinstated.

However, due to prior rough soul searching, his memories had been thoroughly screened, leaving his consciousness injured.

Though many days had passed, he still experienced occasional pains in his head, harboring resentment towards the Heavenly Execution Pavilion, yet too fearful to speak out.

After all, the Heavenly Execution Pavilion was currently in a position of great power at the Immortal Court; who would be brave enough to stand up and condemn them?

That might just get them dragged in for another round of torture!

The Dragon General, proud and resilient, could barely withstand the torment of those interrogators!

It was downright insane!

Nevertheless, as the Immortal Court Summit convened, the Dragon General was in no condition to host, yet he forced himself to pull it together, wearing a forced smile as he welcomed everyone, putting on a show.

“Please, come in, come in…”

As he welcomed one Immortal Emperor after another into the South Heavenly Gate, he suddenly noticed a huge creature in the sky, radiating a terrifying aura that instilled fear.

“What is this?!”

His eyes widened; it was his first time seeing such a mount.

The heavenly soldiers were also shaken by its presence, revealing fear on their faces.

“Ye Junlin, we’ve arrived,” said Bu Qianfan.

Ye Junlin nodded, “Let’s get down.”

In an instant, the three of them flashed to the front of the South Heavenly Gate.

“Greetings, Bu Qianfan!”

Since Bu Qianfan had visited the Immortal Court before, the Dragon General immediately recognized him, then turned his attention to Ye Junlin and Li Ruotong, cautiously cupping his fists, “And these two are…?”

Bu Qianfan introduced them, “These two are from the North Cold Immortal Domain; this is Celestial Moon Emperor, and the other is the North Cold Immortal Lord!”

The Dragon General was startled and hurriedly bowed, “I am the guard of the South Heavenly Gate, pleased to meet you both!”

His tone was respectful, primarily due to Ye Junlin.

“Uh-huh.”

The two nodded in acknowledgment.

Whoosh, Ah Kun transformed into a youthful appearance, bouncing over to Ye Junlin, staring at the grand South Heavenly Gate with eager anticipation, “Master, can I go in with you?”

Ye Junlin didn’t respond but shot a questioning glance at the Dragon General.

“There are regulations that allow mounts and battle pets to enter, but they can’t participate in the summit. There will be a designated guest area instead,” the Dragon General quickly explained.

“That’s fine,” Ye Junlin said.

Ah Kun’s eyes rolled, seeming to think about something.

“Ladies and gentlemen, please step inside!”

The Dragon General gestured respectfully as Ye Junlin and the others stepped into the South Heavenly Gate.

Just then, a group of figures dressed in black and white garments strode over arrogantly, adorned with a special token bearing the words “Heavenly Execution Pavilion.”

At the forefront was a pale, somewhat slimy-looking man whose eyes lit up upon seeing Li Ruotong.

He cleared his throat dramatically, strolling in with hands on his back, “Halt, routine inspection!”

“Huh?”

Everyone frowned.

The Dragon General felt a jolt of dread and rushed forward to intervene, saying, “Captain Meng, they are all here to attend the summit; there’s no need for such formality!”

Meng Yi sneered, “Dragon General, do you know what time it is? The orders from above are strict; we must be vigilant. And here you are, being so lax!”

The Dragon General, suppressing his anger, forced a smile, “Isn’t that a bit of an overreaction?”

“Fool!”

Meng Yi reprimanded sternly, “This concerns the safety of the Immortal Court and even the survival of the Immortal Realm! How can you take it lightly? What if the Undying Blood Clan manages to slip in, leading to grave dangers? Are you willing to take responsibility for that?”

Spit flew everywhere, splattering the Dragon General’s face.

The Dragon General’s expression darkened.

Here he was, a battle-hardened veteran, reduced to being publicly scolded by a petty official; the more he thought about it, the more frustrating it became.

But what could he do?

After all, this man was part of the Heavenly Execution Pavilion and held the title of captain, now standing higher than him!

If he dared to retort, he would only invite trouble!

Seeing Meng Yi in such a self-satisfied posture, nearby Immortal Officials clenched their teeth in hatred.

“What’s going on?”

Ye Junlin was puzzled; this was his first visit to the Immortal Court, and the atmosphere was not what he had expected.

Bu Qianfan was even more baffled.

He had come to the Immortal Court many times for important discussions and had never seen such an arrogant group demanding inspections, even scolding the Dragon General in charge of guarding the gate.

More importantly, these folks weren’t even Immortal Emperors; who gave them the authority and confidence to act like this?
