Living Dangerously with a 999-Year-Old Gumiho – Chapter 11

Hyun was a bit worried about Yoonhwa going out alone, but he thought it was important to give her the time she needed.

“Be careful out there, Yoonhwa.”

At Hyun’s cautious reminder, Yoonhwa smiled and nodded.

“Don’t worry, Hyun! I’ll be back soon.”

Yoonhwa turned her steps away from Seojin’s house.

The streets were beautifully bathed in the evening glow, and it was a time when the foot traffic had thinned out. Yoonhwa walked slowly along the street, searching for a place that sold fruit.

However, finding a fruit store wasn’t easy.

Yoonhwa glanced around, looking at various shops but couldn’t locate one that sold fruit.

Just then, a man slightly shorter than Hyun approached her with a smile.

“Aren’t you the magician from this morning’s performance?”

Yoonhwa felt a bit flustered but replied cheerfully.

“Yes, that’s me.”

He asked with a smile, “What are you looking for?”

He approached Yoonhwa with a kind smile.

Yoonhwa hesitated for a moment before saying that she had come to buy fruit.

“Actually, it’s my first time here, so I’m not familiar with the way.”

“Could you possibly tell me where the fruit store is?”

The man showed interest in Yoonhwa’s answer and stepped closer.

“For fruits… I can tell you about a place in town that sells fruits together.”

“The only fruit store in this town closed early today.”

“Shall I guide you?”

Yoonhwa felt grateful for his kind offer and accepted.

“Really? That would be great!”

The two walked together towards the fruit store. While walking, the man shared various stories about the town with Yoonhwa.

“This town is small, but it’s really beautiful. Especially at night, the stars are very visible.”

“So I really love looking at the stars from in front of my house on dark nights.”

His stories were interesting, and Yoonhwa focused on what he was saying, wanting to know more.

Before long, they arrived at the store.

In front of the store was a display of various fruits, and Yoonhwa’s eyes glimmered at the sight.

“Please choose any fruit you like from here. This store sells various kinds of fruit.”

Yoonhwa stepped into the store to see a variety of fruits.

There were apples, oranges, cherries, and many more of Yoonhwa’s favorites.

She picked a few fruits and placed them in a basket.

“I think this will be enough.”

Yoonhwa headed to the checkout with the basket in her hand.

The basket was overflowing with the fruits Yoonhwa had carefully chosen.

When she arrived at the checkout, she carefully set down the fruits, and the shopkeeper greeted her kindly.

“I’ll help you with the checkout.”

The shopkeeper began weighing each fruit and calculating the price.

Yoonhwa watched the shopkeeper’s nimble hands while tightly gripping the money Seojin had given her.

Under the warm light of the shop, the fruits looked even fresher and glossier.

When the shopkeeper told her the final amount, Yoonhwa took out the money Seojin had given her and handed it to him.

The amount Seojin had given her was much more than she had expected, and there was still a significant amount left over after the checkout.

“Thank you!”

Yoonhwa expressed her gratitude and left the store.

With a basket full of fruits in hand, she smiled, thinking about eating the fruits when she got home.

Yoonhwa looked at the man and said, “Thank you so much for your help today.”

He smiled and nodded.

“I’m glad I could help.”

“I really enjoyed your performance today.”

Yoonhwa carefully took an apple from the basket and handed it to the man.

Though Yoonhwa felt a bit wistful to lose one apple, she thought this was an adequate reward.

“Oh, are you giving me an apple?”

“I should give you a gift too.”

The man said with a smile, “I’d like to offer you some delicious food as well.”

“Just a moment!!”

The man dashed off somewhere.

Yoonhwa stood there, perplexed, and waited for a moment. It wasn’t long before he returned running.

He seemed to be in good shape, showing no signs of being out of breath or weary.

“I don’t have much time right now!!!”

He handed Yoonhwa a black bag.

“This is from my favorite restaurant. You should try it later!”

Yoonhwa, bewildered, replied, “Uh… Thanks?”

Before Yoonhwa could finish her sentence, the man dashed away.

Yoonhwa, flustered, ran after him.

It had only been a few seconds, but Yoonhwa quickly caught up with him.

The nameless man looked surprised and asked, “W…why are you doing this?”

“And…how did you catch up so…?”

Yoonhwa smiled and said, “Your name!”

“I was going to ask for your name.”

The man seemed a bit startled but told her his name.

“Um… My name is Eunho.”

“I’m really busy right now. It was a pleasure today!”

“See you next time!”

Eunho dashed off quickly again.

Yoonhwa stared at the black bag in her hand and muttered to herself.

“Wow… I wonder what delicious food he gave me?”

She opened the bag with curiosity.

Inside was a variety of street food. Among them was some fried food she had eaten before.

Yoonhwa’s eyes sparkled.

“Wow, this is so much!? He’s really a kind person!”

Yoonhwa hurried home, eager to show off the delicious food to Seojin, Kangtae, and Hyun.

When Yoonhwa arrived home, Hyun was already outside.

Hyun had been worried about Yoonhwa and had gone outside looking for her.

Seeing Yoonhwa, he sighed in relief and approached her.

“Yoonhwa, are you
