Living Dangerously with a 999-Year-Old Gumiho – Chapter 65

Her gestures grew larger, and soon she stretched lightly and opened her eyes.

“Ugh… I’m hungry…”

Yoonhwa mumbled in a sleepy voice.

Her eyes focused on the familiar ceiling, then shifted to Eunho, Nomi, and the messy room.

‘W-What’s going on?!’

Yoonhwa shouted towards Eunho, her eyes wide open.

“Eunho, is it you again?!”

Disbelief and anger filled Yoonhwa’s gaze.

She quickly stood up, ready to confront Eunho.

Yoonhwa charged at Eunho with an aggressive stance.

In that moment, Nomi jumped between the two monsters.

“N-No, sister…!”

“Eunho oppa helped me!!”

Nomi hurriedly explained, witnessing Yoonhwa’s aggressive posture.

“Sister, I… I got hurt playing with Yoonhwa’s tail!”

“Eunho oppa didn’t do anything wrong…”

Both Eunho and Yoonhwa looked surprised by Nomi’s words.

Eunho had helped Nomi, but he didn’t know the details, and Yoonhwa couldn’t hide her shock at realizing her tail had hurt Nomi.

“My tail…?!”

Yoonhwa exclaimed in shock.

After hearing Nomi’s explanation, Yoonhwa realized her tail was the cause of the mess.

With a mix of embarrassment and surprise, she quickly tucked her ears and tail in.

As her ears and tail disappeared, the tension in the room eased a bit.

“I’m… I’m sorry… I was just sleeping…”

“I didn’t know my tail was so dangerous…!”

Yoonhwa approached Nomi, genuinely apologetic.

Her face was full of worry and guilt.

Eunho sighed in relief as he witnessed Yoonhwa acknowledging the chaos her tail caused and apologizing.

’Thank goodness…’

After apologizing to Nomi, Yoonhwa turned to Eunho.

Her gaze was filled with regret, and her face showed her discomfort.

“Eunho, I’m sorry for scaring you too…”

Yoonhwa’s voice was soft and careful.

“I thought you hurt Nomi…”

She paused for a moment, waiting for Eunho’s reaction.

Eunho smiled at Yoonhwa’s apology and waved his hand dismissively.

“It’s okay, Yoonhwa…”

Yoonhwa let out a sigh of relief at Eunho’s words, her tension easing slightly.

Eunho chuckled as he noticed Yoonhwa’s pajamas.

“Yoonhwa, your outfit… it has a fox design? It’s so cute!”

The pajamas Yoonhwa wore were covered in tiny fox illustrations.

Yoonhwa’s face turned red in embarrassment at Eunho’s comment.

“Oh, th-this is just… comfortable…”

Her voice trembled with shyness, trailing off into awkward sounds.

“Ugh… it’s just comfortable…!”

Eunho laughed harder at Yoonhwa’s reaction, causing her to blush even more.

As Yoonhwa turned crimson, Nomi suddenly changed the atmosphere.

She grabbed Yoonhwa’s hand and turned to Eunho.

“Enough chit-chat, let’s play already!”

“I’m so bored~!”

Nomi’s voice was filled with excitement.

Eunho smiled at Nomi’s enthusiastic suggestion.

“Okay, what should we do?”

Eunho said with joyful anticipation.

The three of them looked around the living room, pondering what to do for fun.

Just then, a loud ‘grrrr’ from Yoonhwa’s stomach echoed through the quiet room.

The sound was clear and loud enough to fill the stillness.

Eunho and Nomi stared at Yoonhwa in surprise, while she blushed and looked flustered.

“Uh, um… I’m really hungry…!”

Yoonhwa said sheepishly with a smile.

Her voice was filled with embarrassment, and her gaze dropped to the floor.

Eunho burst out laughing at Yoonhwa’s hunger.

The three monsters shared a moment of surprise and laughter when suddenly a knock interrupted the living room’s calm atmosphere.

Knock

Knock

Eunho, Yoonhwa, and Nomi all turned their heads towards the door at the same moment.

Yoonhwa glanced at Eunho and Nomi in surprise before confidently stating, “It must be Hyun, right?”

Yoonhwa walked over to the door.

As her hand reached the doorknob, she hesitated momentarily but soon seemed to find her resolve and opened the door.

When Yoonhwa turned the doorknob, the door creaked open to reveal someone entering the living room.

Eunho and Nomi watched with eager eyes, but it wasn’t Hyun as expected; it was Roji carrying the unconscious Hyun, thoroughly inebriated.

Roji stood at the door, with an awkward smile on his face.

He cautiously greeted Yoonhwa, “Hello, Yoonhwa…”

“We met before, right?”

Roji’s voice was tentative, and his gaze seemed a bit tense.

Yoonhwa suddenly felt a flash of memory, remembering the note passed to Hyun by the woman with white short hair.

Yoonhwa caught a whiff of Roji’s overpowering perfume.

The scent triggered her curiosity about how Roji knew Hyun was drunk and why he was carrying him at this hour.

“Yes, I remember. But what happened to Hyun? Why are you…?”

Yoonhwa asked, shifting her gaze to Hyun.

Her voice was a mix of suspicion and concern.

“Ah, well, it’s a bit complicated… Hyun drank too much…”

After hearing this, Yoonhwa hesitated briefly but eventually led Roji into the house.

Roji carefully moved Hyun to the room, keeping an eye on Yoonhwa.

The atmosphere in the room felt quiet as Roji gently laid Hyun on the bed.

Yoonhwa kept her watchful eye on Roji’s actions.

She was torn between suspicion about Roji and concern for Hyun.

But given the circumstances, she felt there was nothing she could do besides help Hyun rest comfortably.

Eunho stood in the living room, staring blankly at Roji.

Seeing Roji come in surprised him, but he silently observed the situation.

After Roji laid Hyun down in the room, he quietly approached Eunho.

Roji leaned in and whispered in Eunho’s ear.

“Act like you don’t know.”

Roji cautiously closed the door to the room and walked back into the living room.

Yoonhwa expressed her gratitude to him.

“Thank you for bringing Hyun safely back.”

Yoonhwa’s voice was sincere, and gratitude shone in her eyes.

Roji waved his hand modestly in response.

“It’s nothing. I fed him, so I need to take responsibility.”

At that moment, Yoonhwa’s gaze lingered on Roji’s outfit.

She seemed slightly flustered by Roji’s bold choice of clothing.

Particularly, his prominent perfume smell accentuated his personality.

“But I think I should be going now.”

Roji looked towards the door as he continued speaking.

His tone held a hint of urgency.

Just then, Roji’s gaze turned to Eunho.

He shot a glance at Eunho, as if to remind him of what he had whispered in his ear moments ago.

Eunho caught the hint in Roji’s eyes and awkwardly nodded.

Roji quickly scanned the room, then bid farewell to Yoonhwa and Eunho.

“Well then, I’ll just take my leave… Have a good time, everyone.”

His voice was soft and friendly.

Roji carefully opened the door and stepped outside.

Once the door closed, the living room fell silent again.

Yoonhwa and Eunho exchanged glances, sharing the subtle atmosphere Roji left behind.

“Eunho, did you have some history with that person…?” Yoonhwa cautiously asked Eunho.

Eunho paused at her question.

A subtle tension crept onto his face.

“No, it’s nothing, really…!”

Eunho responded awkwardly with a smile.

Yoonhwa didn’t seem entirely satisfied with Eunho’s answer, but she chose not to press further.

She sighed and turned to head towards the room where Hyun was sleeping.

Yoonhwa entered the room where Hyun lay, being mindful.

She paused to observe Hyun, falling into deep thought.

Yoonhwa stepped cautiously into the room where Hyun was asleep.

As she crossed the threshold, she caught a strong whiff of alcohol emanating from him.

Mixed with that was the scent of perfume that stimulated her sensitive nose.

But what really captivated her senses was the uniquely enchanting smell that humans possess.

The fragrance was subtle yet strong, drawing Yoonhwa in as she stood there, mesmerized.

Hyun’s breathing was steady and deep, his face frozen in a peaceful slumber.

That serene sight provided a degree of comfort to Yoonhwa.

But at the same time, the scent provoked her instincts, filling her heart with a whirlwind of emotions.

In that moment, without her realizing, her tail and ears popped out.

This was a response born of tension and instinct. Upon realizing her tail had appeared, she was startled and hurried to hide them.

Yoonhwa struggled to conceal her tail and ears, but for some reason, they kept springing back out.

Usually, she could easily control them, but in this situation, her body seemed to be reacting against her will.

Her tail moved awkwardly, seemingly uncontrollable, and her ears also flopped about as if they had a mind of their own.

Yoonhwa became increasingly flustered at her appearance, feeling deep confusion.

She attempted to grasp her tail and ears, but her instinctual side seemed to be taking over.

Ultimately, Yoonhwa gave up on hiding her tail and ears and looked at Hyun’s sleeping form one more time.

At that moment, she found herself increasingly drawn to the intoxicating scent coming from Hyun, gazing at him blankly.

Unknowingly, she started drooling.

This situation was cautiously observed by Eunho and Nomi as they approached.

Eunho watched Yoonhwa’s behavior and asked seriously.

“Yoonhwa, why don’t you just…”

“Try tasting him once?”

Yoonhwa’s tail moved left and right, and her ears flopped rapidly up and down.

Her eyes were fixed on Hyun, and drool was dripping unconsciously from her mouth.

Eunho, watching Yoonhwa’s condition, continued cautiously, “Don’t deny your instincts~.”

“Just once, just a taste.”

“Could it be that bad?”

“There are plenty of humans in this world.”

Nomi immediately reacted to Eunho’s suggestion.

“Absolutely not!”

“He’s great at cooking!”

Following Nomi’s words, Yoonhwa’s response became even more intense.

Her eyes were fixed on Hyun, and her voice turned to Eunho.

“Eunho, that won’t do…!!”

“I-I would never do such a thing..!!”

Eunho was taken aback by Yoonhwa and Nomi’s strong reactions. He waved his hands repeatedly, hurriedly apologizing.

“Uh, um… really? Oh, I see… don’t be mad..”

Yoonhwa struggled between the strong aroma coming from Hyun and her own instincts, ultimately deciding to leave in order to suppress her appetite.

She slowly turned away from the room where Hyun was sleeping and walked back into the living room.

Her tail was still moving erratically, and her ears bounced around, showing her excited state.

As Yoonhwa entered the living room, Eunho and Nomi cautiously followed her.

Eunho, still flustered by the previous situation, repeatedly offered apologies.

“Ah…~ I said I’m sorry, didn’t I?~”

“Cheer up~..”

Despite Eunho’s attempts to apologize, Yoonhwa couldn’t hide her lingering confusion.

Her heart was entangled in feelings of guilt over her chaotic emotions and Eunho’s irresponsible suggestion.

Eunho decided to change the atmosphere and headed into the kitchen.

He opened the fridge, looking for snacks that Yoonhwa and Nomi might enjoy.

Eunho wanted to ease the tension between Yoonhwa and Nomi but lacked experience with food.

He peered into the fridge, unsure of what to pull out.

His eyes landed on various vegetables and fruits.

Eunho had no idea what could make a good snack among them.

He awkwardly pulled out some carrots, strawberries, and a random assortment of vegetables.

When Eunho returned to the living room holding the vegetables and fruit, Yoonhwa and Nomi were taken aback and then burst out laughing.

“Eunho, why did you grab so much…?”

Yoonhwa asked, struggling to hold back her laughter.

A smile danced around her eyes.

“Um, I thought these might be okay to eat!”

“But… I’m not sure what they taste like…”

Eunho’s voice trailed off.

His tone carried a hint of confusion.

Nomi was delighted when she saw the vegetables Eunho had brought.

“Let’s cook something with these!”
