Eunho was momentarily taken aback by Nomi’s enthusiastic suggestion.
Thoughts of the dishes Yoonhwa had made in the past flashed through his mind.
Those dishes had been so bizarre they felt life-threatening.
Eunho hesitated briefly at the energetic proposal, recalling Yoonhwa’s not-so-successful attempts from back then.
He quietly approached Nomi and whispered in her ear.
“Nomi, um, we ate Yoonhwa’s food yesterday…”
“Let’s, um, cook together next time?”
Nomi’s eyes widened as she heard Eunho’s whisper.
She briefly got lost in a memory of the past and then startled, glanced at Yoonhwa.
“Ah, ahh!!”
Her face seemed to vividly remember the shock from that time.
She accepted Eunho’s warning and felt a hint of fear towards Yoonhwa’s cooking as she cautiously stared at her.
After a moment, she seemed to make up her mind and said.
“Yoonhwa unnie, let’s just… eat this!”
“Le-letting’s cook next time..!”
Yoonhwa was a bit startled by Nomi’s reaction but replied with a smile.
“Okay, Nomi. Let’s keep breakfast simple.”
Eunho sighed in relief as he placed the vegetables and fruits on the dining table.
The table was set with various bowls, all containing only remnants of food.
Yoonhwa expressed her curiosity as she looked around.
“What’s this? Looks like there used to be food here.”
Nomi paused in thought before speaking.
“Ah, that… human…”
“Must’ve cooked for us.”
“And then left?”
Yoonhwa stared at Nomi in surprise.
“Hyun did? For us?”
“But where did it all go??”
Nomi cautiously spoke up.
“Umm… I, I ate it…”
“Woke up this morning and finished it all…”
“Sorry, unnie…”
Yoonhwa was taken aback by Nomi’s careful confession, but soon, she couldn’t hold back her laughter.
Her laughter filled the living room.
“Haha, Nomi, so that’s why you said you weren’t hungry?!”
“Then, you’re not hungry now, huh?”
Nomi hesitated for a moment before answering honestly.
“Um… actually, I’m a little hungry again…”
Yoonhwa burst into laughter again at Nomi’s response and pointed to the vegetables and fruits on the table.
“Then let’s eat together!”
Nomi picked up a piece of fruit with a smile.
The vegetables and fruits were unwashed, but that wasn’t much of a problem for the two demons.
Nomi took a big bite of the apple and expressed her enjoyment.
“Yum, delicious!”
“What is this?? Sweet and refreshing!”
Yoonhwa also picked up a strawberry, smiling brightly as she said.
“Right? It’s the taste of nature!”
Yoonhwa and Nomi started munching happily on the vegetables and fruits as if they were kids on a picnic.
Yoonhwa picked up another strawberry, smiling at its refreshing and sweet flavor.
After Nomi had bitten into half of the apple, her curiosity got the better of her as she took a bite of the carrot.
Her eyes widened.
Her mouth, used to the apple’s sweetness, seemed startled by the earthy taste and slight bitterness of the carrot.
“Eww… this is a bit…”
Nomi furrowed her brows, trailing off.
Yoonhwa, seeing her expression, chuckled and teasingly took a small bite of the other end of the carrot Nomi was holding.
Her expression quickly scrunched up too.
“Ugh, I’ve eaten way too much of this in the forest…”
Yoonhwa couldn’t finish her sentence and set the carrot down on the table.
Both of them lost interest in the vegetables and turned their gaze back to the fruits.
Yoonhwa grabbed the apple, while Nomi took the strawberry again, resuming their happy expressions as they munched.
“Wow! This one’s tasty!” Nomi said as she ate the strawberry.
“Yeah~” Yoonhwa agreed, taking a bite of her apple.
While Yoonhwa and Nomi were enjoying their fruit tasting session, Yoonhwa noticed Eunho quietly observing them.
She decided to offer some fruit to Eunho too.
Yoonhwa picked up a fresh apple and approached Eunho.
“Eunho, you should try this too. It’s really delicious!”
With a smile, Yoonhwa held out the apple to Eunho.
Eunho was momentarily startled by Yoonhwa’s warm offer but found it hard to refuse when he saw her expectant gaze.
He accepted the apple and cautiously said.
“Ah, Yoonhwa, I’m fine…”
But Yoonhwa didn’t listen to Eunho and held his hand, bringing the apple closer.
“Just take a bite.”
“This isn’t made by a human!”
Nomi also urged Eunho.
“Yeah, Eunho oppa! Try it!”
“It’s really good!”
She held out a half-eaten strawberry towards Eunho.
Eunho smiled at Yoonhwa and Nomi’s strong encouragement and cautiously replied.
“Haha… thank you so much…”
“But right now, I’m full… I’ll definitely try it next time..!!”
At his words, Yoonhwa paused briefly, then nodded in acceptance of Eunho’s refusal.
With a smile, she brought the apple she had offered to Eunho to her own mouth.
“Okay, don’t eat then~”
“I can’t miss out on such deliciousness!”
With a satisfied expression, Yoonhwa took a big bite of the apple.
Nomi didn’t mind Eunho’s refusal at all.
She continued to enjoy her strawberry, wearing a happy expression.
“Next time, Eunho oppa has to join us for sure!”
Eunho sat watching Yoonhwa and Nomi joyfully eat their fruits.
Their laughter filled the living room, but Eunho’s heart was heavy with thoughts.
The shock from seeing Roji carrying Hyun was still fresh in his mind.
“Hmm… Is Rose targeting the Fox Orb too…?”
Eunho’s mind was cluttered with doubts and worries about Roji.
Various thoughts constantly swirled around in his mind.
Yet, he tried his best to ignore the situation as he watched Yoonhwa and Nomi happily eating their fruits.
“What’s it to me, Darkness Demon…”
“They’re not my concern.”
Noticing Eunho’s troubled expression, Yoonhwa approached him.
Seeing Eunho’s gaze lost in the distance, she quietly sat beside him.
“Eunho, what are you thinking?”
“Why do you look so worried?”
Yoonhwa’s voice was soft and warm.
She genuinely wondered what was in Eunho’s heart and why he was so deep in thought.
“Ah! No… I just zoned out for a moment.”
With Yoonhwa’s watchful gaze on him, Eunho briefly fell into contemplation.
Her warm concern stirred something in his heart.
He thought that it would be difficult to share all his worries, but he resolved to lighten his heart a little by sharing at least some.
“Umm… the thing is…”
Eunho began to speak cautiously.
“About Rose…”
She widened her eyes, looking at Eunho.
“Rose? Who’s that?”
“The one who brought Hyun back?”
Yoonhwa’s voice was filled with curiosity.
Eunho sensed her curiosity and nodded.
“Yeah, Rose. She…”
“When that human in the room wakes up…”
“She’ll go crazy looking for Rose, right??”
“Make sure you don’t let him see her.”
As soon as Eunho finished his sentence, worry and confusion crossed Yoonhwa’s face.
She took Eunho’s warning seriously and fell into thought.
Eunho’s statement about not letting Hyun near Roji weighed heavily on her mind.
“Not let him see her?? What does that mean?”
“What happened to Hyun?”
When Yoonhwa asked, Eunho hesitated for a moment before carefully responding.
“Um… I can’t explain everything in detail.”
“I don’t know much about her either.”
Nomi had been listening to this conversation but didn’t want to interrupt Eunho and Yoonhwa’s serious discussion.
She quietly munched on her fruit, keeping an eye on the situation.
Her gaze conveyed both curiosity and worry, but she seemed to decide not to speak just yet.
Yoonhwa listened to Eunho’s words and fell into deep thought.
The idea that Hyun might be in some danger related to Roji led her to resolve to protect Hyun carefully.
“Okay, Eunho. Thank you!”
Expressing her gratitude for Yoonhwa’s determination, Eunho got up from his seat.
There seemed to be a hint of tension in his expression.
“I had a really great time today.”
“But I think I should go now.”
Eunho gave Yoonhwa and Nomi a warm smile, expressing how precious the time he spent with them was.
Yoonhwa, seeing Eunho getting up, said.
“Eunho, see you~!”
Her words contained gratitude for his presence.
Nomi also got up and approached Eunho, cheerfully saying goodbye.
“Eunho oppa, bye! Come back again!”
Her voice reflected the joy of the time they’d spent together.
Eunho nodded at Yoonhwa and Nomi’s warm farewell and waved at them.
“Sure, let’s meet next time.”
“Make sure to keep him away.”
His words contained a heartfelt plea along with a promise.
And Eunho quietly opened the door and stepped outside. As the door closed, Yoonhwa and Nomi looked at each other, pondering the conversation they’d had with Eunho and the worries he’d expressed.
After finishing all the fruits, Yoonhwa and Nomi momentarily gazed at each other.
The calm that filled the living room after Eunho left was palpable.
“Nomi, want to watch TV?”
Yoonhwa raised her voice in the quiet living room.
Nomi’s eyes sparkled at the suggestion.
“Yeah! We have to see what’s on!”
Nomi excitedly grabbed the remote control sitting in a corner of the living room.
As Nomi pressed the button on the remote, the TV screen lit up, brightening the living room.
At first, she quickly flipped through various channels, unable to decide what to watch.
But soon, she found a program that captured their interest.
While rapidly switching channels, Nomi’s hand came to a halt.
On the screen was a graceful orange fox walking through the forest.
The documentary’s narration praised the fox’s intelligence and skillful hunting techniques, introducing their mysterious charm.
Nomi concentrated on the screen, her eyes shining. Suddenly, when the fox on screen glanced at the camera, Nomi excitedly shouted towards Yoonhwa.
“Yoonhwa unnie! Look, look!”
“Here’s your friend!”
As Nomi’s voice echoed through the living room, Yoonhwa was both startled and amused.
“Haha, does it really look like me?”
“So cute!”
With Nomi’s excitement still bubbling, she turned to Yoonhwa and asked her a more serious question.
“But unnie, um… are you really like that fox?”
Yoonhwa was taken aback by Nomi’s question.
“Um, um? I guess it’s true…”
