Make Our Family Great Again – Chapter 161

“Alright, this should be enough.”

I glanced at the map indicating the new territory laid out on the table in the living room.

“I don’t think we need to go. Just tell them to come here from below…”

“….”

Elena’s thunderous announcement struck like lightning.

“Okay. Let’s head down from our side.”

But Elena quickly backtracked within seconds. Was my shock that evident? It didn’t seem that dramatic to me.

“Elena, don’t you think you still don’t know Luke well enough?”

Before I could respond, Felicita jumped in.

“Felici, you aren’t still upset about Sarina, are you?”

“Well, how does Luke see it?”

I intervened before the two could start their argument again, but it seemed I had picked the wrong topic for discussion.

“How does he see it? He obviously looks sulky. Do you think a person with such a narrow mind would do that?”

Tsk.

Elena couldn’t hold back that brief moment.

“Elena, let’s just go down.”

“Oh, but Elena, you weren’t really a fan of Sarina, right? I think you being less honest in front of your husband is the bigger problem than my petty nature.”

Since Elena opened the floodgates first, Felicita countered fiercely.

The speed of their exchange was astonishing, and I couldn’t help but marvel.

“If neither of you are going, can I go first?”

“….”

“…Alright, I’ll go.”

Felicita and Elena only stopped their bickering after I pulled the go-ahead card. They couldn’t let Sarina enjoy herself without them.

As I stepped out of the living room with my two wives, I crossed my arms. It was truly a sight to behold, a flawless bouquet in both hands.

“Oh, wait a moment.”

I suddenly realized I forgot to grab the map I had left on the desk.

“Luke, don’t worry; I’ve got the map.”

Just then, Felicita responded while waving her tail. It was quite an impressive sight as she wrapped the rolled-up map with her tail.

“Elena, but you have other things besides a cow tail, right?”

As we headed down the stairs, I tossed out a suitable topic. They wouldn’t start fighting over this, would they?

“Of course not. Do you think I’m going to feed only cow tails to the Caporegimes?”

Since she mentioned “banquet,” that made sense.

I didn’t particularly dislike cow tails, but they were more of a dish you had to pick at with your hands for the best flavor.

It would be quite embarrassing for the more refined Caporegimes like Viola or Lumini, unlike the likes of Vanella or Granada.

“Still, it was unexpected.”

“What was?”

Felicita’s sudden comment met with Elena’s questioning.

“The fact that you agreed to share territory with Luke.”

Ah, that’s true.

This recent reallocation of territory ended up making the whole Little Village area, which could be considered prime land in the center of the city, a shared territory between Elena and me. While I also had the Academy and its surrounding area as my own territory, Elena didn’t have that luxury.

All her territories were effectively shared with me.

“Why? What are you trying to say now?”

“Nothing, just said it because I’m proud of you.”

Proud of me, huh.

The word itself doesn’t imply condescension or mockery, but when Felicita used it towards Elena, it felt like it carried a different nuance.

“Seriously, everything is just so noisy.”

“I was surprised too.”

“Luke, are you going to join in with that?”

“I’m speaking sincerely.”

“….”

Elena quickly turned her head away from my reply. Felicita showed a hint of discomfort at this, but I couldn’t tolerate any further squabbling.

Before long, we had descended all the stairs and were about to meet the Caporegimes.

The mansion was enormous. The banquet hall itself was even on the first floor.

While the living room could potentially serve as a suitable place, in consideration of its role, it would not be the best choice.

“Alright, shall we go in?”

*

My entrance with my two wives.

We didn’t need to force open the large door to the banquet hall. That duty lay with the servants who took care of the Caporegimes.

“You’ve finally arrived.”

“Hmm?”

As soon as we appeared, the Caporegimes scattered across the banquet hall reacted.

According to Elena, she had summoned the Caporegimes who would be experiencing changes due to the territory reallocation… but I noticed some who didn’t seem to fit that description.

“Ahem! Ahem.”

The first to catch my eye were Kambara and the Samia brothers.

While the elder brother Samia devoured his meal, the younger Kambara immediately finished eating when we arrived and stood up.

“….”

The most noticeable Caporegimes among them were Viola and Vanella.

Viola had beauty and influence, while Vanella had her unique charm that attracted various Caporegimes around her.

It was as if the Caporegimes had split into two factions.

The non-affiliated Caporegimes were just four: the previously mentioned Zakaya brothers, Lumini, and Sarina.

“Godfather, Godmother.”

Just as we entered, the first to approach was Armo.

Given that Armo’s territory was close to the mansion and he was responsible for Elena’s security, it would have seemed odd for him not to show up.

“Armo, everything alright?”

“Yes. Everyone was quiet.”

Hmm. I couldn’t help but wonder if Armo’s words were genuine.

With all these colorful characters gathered in one place, he claimed nothing had happened?

No, the right assumption would be that there were no lunatics crazy enough to make mistakes in my and Elena’s mansion.

“Looks like there are a few more than before.”

“There were some Caporegimes who arrived in the meantime.”

Ah, I see.

It seemed Elena hadn’t miscalculated; instead, some had arrived while she hadn’t been able to check.

“Well, that’s not a problem. We’ve come this far, and it wouldn’t make sense to send them away.”

“And besides, having more isn’t a bad thing either.”

“Elena, isn’t that too blatant? It’s obvious what you’re thinking.”

“Eh?”

I raised an eyebrow at Felicita’s words. It took me a moment to wrap my head around her comment.

‘Oh.’

Elena and I were managing the entire Little Village as a shared territory.

The more Caporegimes there were, the more Elena could emphasize how solid our bond was.

“Well, so what? I’m not lying about it.”

“Luke, are you being too lenient only towards Elena?”

Not a chance. It seemed Felicita was seriously mistaken.

I wasn’t just lenient toward Elena; I was also soft toward Felicita.

“Godfather.”

“Alright. Let’s keep moving since there are eyes watching us.”

Just as I was about to answer Felicita, Armo urged us to move along.

It wasn’t difficult to distinguish the seats of honor in the banquet hall. There was a slightly elevated platform compared to other areas.

“Felicita, hand the map to Armo.”

“….”

Before we reached the seats of honor, Felicita complied with Elena’s request and handed over the map she had been holding with her tail.

Armo took the map from Felicita’s tail with both hands. If anyone saw it, it would look like a noble and servant scenario.

“It seems like the map is a bit smaller now that I look at it.”

“It can’t be helped. Still, we can somewhat make it out.”

After Armo hung the map at a suitable spot, I realized that due to both distance and the small size of the map, it might be difficult for the Caporegimes to see it clearly.

No sooner had we settled into the seats of honor than a thick, heavy silence enveloped the banquet hall.

The gaze and attention of all the Caporegimes gathered in the banquet hall were fixed solely upon us.

“You all must have waited long, so I’ll keep it brief.”

In this vast banquet hall, only Elena’s voice resonated clearly.

“You all know what changes have occurred in your territories, right?”

Elena’s question left me feeling a bit uncertain.

“Luke, while you were sleeping, Elena finished a brief explanation to everyone.”

“Really?”

From Felicita’s words, it seemed that while I was asleep with Little Dom, Elena had mentioned the upcoming changes to each Caporegime.

Elena started by telling Viola that she would be in charge of the two territories first.

“Since Michael’s not here, I assume he’s still with the Russo Family?”

“Yes, Godfather. That’s correct.”

It seemed like in the end, it would turn out that Michael was handling the messy work while Viola collected the spoils.

‘There’s no need to directly caution Viola.’

It appeared that Elena shared my sentiment, as she moved right on to the next topic, which was the complete takeover of the entire Little Village territory by Elena and me.

“….”

Not one of the Caporegimes dared to question that point. Because the implications of this change were very clear.

As I mentioned earlier, the bond between Elena and me was remarkably strong.

Additionally, unlike Elena, I owned the Academy as an independent territory, which in some ways indicated that Elena had significantly conceded to me.

“Alright, now it’s time to discuss the newly acquired territories.”

Elena continued to explain.

To the north of the territory acquired from the Solomon Family was Sarina, while to the south were Vanella and Lumini, who settled amicably.

“Everyone okay with that?”

I asked the individuals involved on behalf of Elena.

“Yes, that’s fine.”

Sarina was the first to respond, followed by Vanella and Lumini, who also complied. Lumini seemed a bit slow in reacting, indicating he might have some discontent.

“Sarina’s old territory will be taken over by Kambara.”

This was another significant change. Elena immediately mentioned that she would hand over Greenbug to the Marinelli Family in exchange for acquiring the southern part of Rosedale.

“Since Zakaya’s territory has disappeared, it would be only fair that the territory we acquired goes to Zakaya and the Gollymen.”

Kambara’s older brother didn’t seem at all dissatisfied with our decision; in fact, he seemed a bit excited.

While Sarina appeared pleased by gaining a closer territory, she was doing her best to hold her composure.

However, Samia lacked such restraint.

Although it wasn’t hard to understand, given he had unexpectedly moved from the outskirts to the city center and had even unexpectedly made his younger brother a Caporegime.

“Elena.”

“Got it. Luke, don’t rush me too much.”

The serious parts were all done.

Elena, looking somewhat defeated by my haste, finally reminded the Caporegimes to focus on the banquet.

Because both Elena and I, as well as the Caporegimes, surely had a lot to say to each other.
