Felini Family and the Five Families.
They are located across the sea in Tyrenia, from Hebili, where they are vying for power.
It’s a country shaped a bit like a boot, the ancestral land of all elves since it is where the world tree takes root.
Kazyn and Haremo, executives of an organization supplying a large quantity of drugs to Hebili, made their appearance on a secluded island south of Tyrenia.
“I always feel this way, but it’s quite peaceful here.”
“That’s why the Boss likes it.”
The car carrying the two arrived in front of a mansion styled like a medieval manor, cutting through the vast farmlands.
“….”
The elves guarding the mansion’s main gate were wielding intimidating rifles. This security, consisting of countless members, was operating solely to protect one person.
After entering the mansion grounds through the main gate, the car could finally stop after passing through three doors.
“Brother, I heard you were coming.”
As soon as the car stopped, the organization’s members opened the car doors to welcome Kazyn and Haremo.
“Yeah.”
Kazyn entered the mansion while checking the members’ tense posture on the second floor and high walls. He removed his sunglasses, and Haremo hurriedly put out his cigarette.
Being polite in front of the Boss was a given.
“….”
The two passed by organization members stationed or resting around the mansion and headed upstairs.
In a not-so-large room, an old elf with white hair and wrinkled skin was enjoying wine and cheese alone.
“….”
Haremo didn’t approach the old elf. But Kazyn casually sat nearby.
Their different actions came from the disparity in their standings.
“The Wolf and the She-Wolf have taken control of central Hebili. I heard one of the Five Families has buckled.”
“Which of the Five?”
The old elf opened his nearly dozing eyes and asked.
“It seems to be those vampires.”
“Russo, it’s Russo.”
“Yes, it must be those guys.”
Kazyn answered while cutting a piece of cheese with the dagger on the table and putting it in his mouth. The old elf didn’t comment on that gesture.
“What about the next shipment?”
“Did they specifically ask for anything?”
“No, nothing. But… it seems the Wolf has had a child.”
“…What a joy.”
The old elf briefly commented on the new life born after Vito Felini had left.
“What about our kids’ preparations? Do you think we can ship more?”
“Yes.”
Kazyn nodded slightly. It was a bit troublesome, but it was bearable.
“…Then we’ll do it that way.”
The old elf’s eyes snapped open. The sharp gaze, hidden by the wrinkled skin, became apparent. With an impression as if sliced by a knife, Haremo unconsciously lowered his head.
“Ship more this time than usual. We must show our support for the Felini Family. They’ve always been our good friends.”
“Yes, understood.”
“And one more thing. If we find out who is behind Vito’s murder, we’ll step in.”
“They won’t want that from their side.”
“We have to take care of it properly. If they mess with our people, they’ll find out what happens, whether it’s the Five Families or whoever.”
Vito Felini is part of the Tyrenian organization, and the boss of the Tyrenian organization is Vito Felini’s man. That’s what partnership and cooperation mean in Tyrenia.
Plus, the reason they could be this aggressive was clear. Kazyn and Haremo had directly seen and heard the utter disrespect from the Five Families, eliminating the need to fear them anymore.
Thus, the old elf spoke with complete determination.
“….”
However, Kazyn felt utterly lost as to how to explain this to the Wolves.

Meanwhile, having confirmed the incident at the meeting of the Five Families through Manfredi, I immediately initiated my next action.
I contacted Darius Russo, the boss of the Russo Family.
“…What’s going on?”
It seemed Russo already knew it was me calling.
“I heard the Solomon Family has exited the Five Families.”
“So what?”
“The Marinelli Family is thinking the same.”
“What?”
A hint of unease came through Russo’s voice on the other end. Perhaps he sensed what I was about to say next.
“The Russo Family is also leaving the Five Families.”
“That’s impossible.”
“After all, what’s the point?”
“But symbolism…”
This was an unexpected reaction from Russo. A hot-headed guy talking about symbolism, no less.
“You, Marinelli, and Solomon—the three families will be supplied with the drugs previously supplied to the Five Families. And we’ll fill in the other families to create a new Five Families.”
“….”
Instead of the existing Five Families collapsing entirely, a new set of Five Families would rise.
With this approach, worries about symbolism that Russo was concerned about were unnecessary.
And what will remain of the old Five Families will be the Sanchez Family and the Dragovich Family.
The Carmen Family was also isolated from the Five Families, so they could be excluded.
“Won’t that solve the symbolism issue?”
“Yeah.”
Russo readily agreed to my question.
To sum it up, according to Russo, there was much to gain, and little to lose. I had already gotten Elena’s permission to implement my plan, so there would be no issues.
“When should the timing be?”
“I’ll let you know separately.”
I ended the call with Russo and immediately called Manfredi to inform him that the Russo Family would join in exiting the Five Families.
“So what’s the exact date you’re thinking?”
“We can’t just sit idly by while Sanchez’s pockets get fat.”
I could tell well what Manfredi’s answer implied. It indicated before Kazyn brought back the next shipment to Tyrenia.
But that was just a general answer, not the precise answer I wanted.
“Can you let me know when the next drugs are expected to arrive?”
“…Probably next Tuesday or Wednesday.”
There usually weren’t discrepancies from the date given by them.
But… sometimes there might be issues with the maritime security of both countries or problems at sea. That was the answer taking those factors into account.
“Then next Monday would be good. Can you also relay that to Russo for us?”
“…Sure, I’ll do that.”
Manfredi didn’t treat me like a mere errand boy.
He wasn’t deciding things himself and allowed me to make the decisions; that showed consideration to the finest detail, just like how Felicita and Manfredi are siblings.
“Wait, one more thing to ask.”
“What is it?”
“…Have you picked a name for the baby?”
“Not yet. I don’t even know if it’s a son or a daughter.”
“….”
Come to think of it, it seemed the idea of prenatal names was rare in this world. Well, in the world I came from, the same was true in the Western world, so perhaps that’s similar?
While I was lost in thought, Manfredi on the other end of the line didn’t say anything.
“I’d like to hang up if there’s nothing more to discuss.”
“Oh, right. Sorry.”
By the way, Manfredi was my brother-in-law. I never expected that grumpy guy would become my brother-in-law.
I couldn’t quite understand what he meant to say, but perhaps he was trying to congratulate me for having a baby with Felicita.
Last, I conveyed the exact date mentioned by Manfredi to the Russo Family. Russo also acknowledged it.
“Are you done with the call?”
Elena peeked her head out from the bathroom.
“Yeah, following Solomon, Marinelli and Russo have also decided to exit the Five Families before the next shipment comes in.”
“…Russo accepted that quite readily.”
“Well, there’s nothing to gain from staying with those guys, but our ship is completely different.”
“That’s true, but Russo has his pride.”
“Well, judging by his response, his pride didn’t seem to weigh too heavily.”
As I responded, Elena emerged from the bathroom in her robe. Seeing her with her long, not entirely dried hair, I wondered if she had rushed out of the bathroom too quickly.
“Is Luke not coming in?”
“No, I need to wash too.”
Today was meant to be a day shared with Felicita.
Just that she hadn’t returned to her room yet was the only reason I was allowed to be with Elena.
So I needed to hurry and wash up before Felicita came back.
Right now, the only scent on my body, thanks to last night’s intimacy, was Elena’s fragrance, nothing else.
“That girl is taking a while.”
“Elena, how long are you going to keep calling her that girl?”
“That woman?”
“…Enough.”
As an even harsher word slipped out, I dropped my expectations.
It became more apparent that the only reason Elena and Felicita could coexist, albeit imperfectly, was because I was the mediator.
After Elena fully came out of the bathroom, I entered in her place.
My hair wasn’t that long, and compared to Elena’s, I could finish my bath in a very short time and come out.
“….”
“Why?”
“Nothing, it’s just that we’re wearing the same bathrobe, but there’s quite a difference.”
The robe Elena was wearing and the one I stepped out in were the same size. Thus, it felt small on her, but the ends of my robe were trailing on the floor.
“Yeah, I know I’m small. Is that it?”
“What? Are you pouting?”
Elena found it quite fascinating that I was acting this way since she wasn’t used to it.
“….”
Regardless, I didn’t answer Elena’s question. Instead, I turned on the radio while still in the bathrobe.
Checking to see if there was a suitable channel to listen to… one particular channel had a standout voice.
“Once referred to as the ‘City of Fun’, Hebili is now called the ‘City of Fear’ by the police and firefighters.”
Elena and I exchanged glances upon hearing the content on the radio and shrugged our shoulders. It was probably because of people like us.
Then, the voices of others began to emerge. Judging by the way they spoke, they seemed like witnesses present at the scene.
“There was a scuffle on the street, and a man got shot in the head.”
“Robberies and murders have been rampant in this city.”
“Seven people were killed from being slashed by an eleven-inch knife!”
“It seems one of the city’s abandoned subway tunnels has turned into a grave for over sixty corpses due to organized crime.”
“A group of robbers disguised as nuns has injured or killed twenty-seven people.”
Listening to all this at once was a spectacle indeed.
Especially, it seemed a group of robbers dressed as nuns made quite an impressive appearance right in the heart of the city.
“Things are getting out of hand now.”
“….”
I couldn’t respond to Elena’s remark as I focused on listening to the radio.
Suddenly, the phone rang loudly, and before I could pick it up, Elena took the receiver and spoke a few words before handing it to me.
“Who is it?”
“The Financial King, sir.”
“Hagen?”
I couldn’t help but wonder what it was about this time.
