My Disciples Think I’m Strong – Chapter 250

Clang! Clang! Clang!

The swords in front of me clash repeatedly, sending sparks flying.

“Die! Die!”

“You die instead!”

“You pathetic human! You’re not even a hero! Know your limits! Your life ends here!”

Clang!

“Ugh!”

Each strike is incredibly heavy. Unlike the penalties that come from copying, there’s no urgency to end this quickly. But it feels absolutely impossible to win through physical attacks.

The Demon King entering Phase Two has a power much stronger than I anticipated, making it difficult just to defend myself.

The suppression of magic and slowing effects from Absolute Domain are barely effective. The slowing effect is especially being nullified by the power of Time Loss.

Even if I slice his body with the All-Cutting Sword, he instantly recovers, making it impossible to break his momentum.

“Where did that momentum from earlier go?!”

Clang!

I took a blow from Blas while alternating between the All-Cutting Sword and the Guardian of the Sanctuary.

Damn it. If I stay this close, I can’t use magic. But I can’t let him maintain this momentum forever. Then…!

“Repulsion!”

I used repulsion on my sword and Blas’s sword, making it easier to push them apart.

First, I’ll disarm him. His sword isn’t like Miles; it lacks sentience. Surely it can be crafted with magic, but that will take a moment of focus.

In that gap, I need to land a solid hit.

“All-Cutting Sword!”

The blade’s aura slices Blas’s magic sword cleanly in half. Taking a step forward while he falters, I swung the Guardian of the Sanctuary.

“Destruction Strike!”

Clang!

I aimed for his neck with the Guardian of the Sanctuary, stopping his fist with my own.

While Iris has a ‘gap,’ I don’t, so I had to rely on the mana barrier to mitigate the impact.

“Stop resisting, you useless fool! Damn you!!”

Meanwhile, his sword had already been restored.

Clang! Clang!

As we exchanged blows, I kept looking for openings, but I couldn’t find any advantage.

Is it really down to just the True Word?

I just need a tiny opening to behead him.

I jumped to avoid a strike aiming for my side and shouted.

“True Word!”

However, this time, the vitality didn’t fade from his eyes. His gaze was sharp, following my every move.

“Do you think such a pathetic mental attack would work on me twice!!”

“Oh no!”

Boom!

I barely managed to block his sword strike, but the delayed barrier sent me crashing into the wall. Despite mostly nullifying the impact, a sharp pain radiated through my back, and blood filled my mouth.

“Ugh, I’m gonna die.”

I spat blood and stood up.

He’s been using mental immunity against me, but I never heard that the Demon King had that ability…

Does that mean the Demon King I’m facing now isn’t the same one I encountered in the game?

“Praus, are you okay?!”

Yggdrasil rushed over and quickly started healing me.

“I’m sorry. I can manifest in the Human World, but I can’t intervene much.”

“It’s fine. More importantly… Are you sure you have authority over me?”

“Yes. My authority is tied to Praus. I can’t explain it well, but you are currently the World Tree of the Human World.”

The World Tree of the Human World…

The power and authority held by the World Tree.

“…I see. That’s what it means.”

Thud! Thud!

Every step he takes echoes through the damaged audience chamber. Watching the Demon King draw closer, I spoke quietly.

“By the power of the World Tree, I summon the Spirit Kings here.”

As if reacting to my words, turquoise mana spread around me. Then, before me, four Spirit Kings were summoned. They looked around with confused expressions before spotting me.

“Praus…?”

“What trickery are you pulling this time?”

Blas stomped the ground, approaching us with intent. He thrust his sword forward.

“Extermination of Evil Spirits!”

“Acceleration.”

Swish!

I swiftly cut off his swinging arm before his skill could activate. Blas, who reacted too late to my sudden speed, clenched his fist.

“Destruction Strike.”

Clang!

As I endured the impact that rushed toward my body, I stepped back.

“What the hell is going on…?”

“Even if you don’t understand, just follow my lead!”

I shouted to the bewildered Spirit Kings.

“Do you think I’ll let you do whatever you want?!”

Blas, having recovered, unleashed a torrent of magic toward the Spirit Kings. The volume of magic was sufficient to engulf the entire area.

I quickly positioned myself in front of the Spirit Kings and swung the All-Cutting Sword multiple times, dispersing the magic. The energy rained down as it dissipated away from my allies.

“Hah, hah.”

Damn it. My mana burden is starting to take its toll.

Using considerable mana just to block Blas’s ordinary physical attacks didn’t lend itself to efficiency.

Although I still had more mana than the supposedly exalted Maria, Blas’s magic didn’t seem to wane, and prolonging this wouldn’t yield any benefits.

Moreover, since his appearance, he had been using so much magic that he almost completely disregarded the Purification Stone.

It seems the Purification Stone only seals cursed abilities, without any further effects.

Is this the real Demon King in full force?

No wonder they say the World Tree couldn’t kill him. If he could use cursed abilities too, he would have died a long time ago.

But it’s not a full loss yet.

“You guys!”

As I called, the Spirit Kings flinched.

“I command you by the authority of the World Tree. Focus your wills into one.”

I need to create a variable in this fight.

The variable I’m thinking of is summoning someone strong enough to be considered the second in command of the Spirit Realm, who can intervene in this world.

“You want us to focus our wills, huh.”

“We don’t have time! We must unite to kill the Demon King. Become the primordial spirits, Spirit Kings!”

[Adjusting causality by the authority of the World Tree.]

As my shout echoed, a hologram appeared in response. As I stared vacantly at it, I suddenly spotted Blas charging his sword at me.

“What the…!”

“What’s with this punk?!”

Alongside a strange voice, a young girl dressed in Turquoise Fairy Attire appeared before me. With her short arms outstretched, she confidently blocked Blas’s sword.

“What the hell is this…?”

“And what’s your deal? You rude demon spawn.”

The girl with a tone that seemed to spit out her words clenched her fists. Mana surged from her hands, enveloping Blas.

“Transcendent Magic, ‘Life Crush.’”

In an instant, Blas’s body twisted, and his limbs tore off.

With a loud splash, the dismembered remains of the Demon King hit the ground.

Having assessed the situation, the turquoise girl turned to me, smirking.

“Was it you who summoned me?”

Now, the Spirit Kings who were behind me had vanished, leaving only the youthful girl, who bore a resemblance to Yggdrasil, standing there.

“It’s been a long time since I slept. And now you’ve disturbed me. If you summoned me just to kill that, you better brace yourself.”

I felt a bit uneasy. Especially with her manner of speaking.

I was confident I could summon the primordial spirit, Initina, but her immediately showing anger left me flustered.

…I can’t help but be reminded of the me from earlier.

“…”

“What’s wrong with you? Cat got your tongue? Why can’t you speak?”

Initina’s eyebrows twitched at my silence.

“Why do you have the mana of the World Tree?”

“Initina.”

“…What! World Tree!”

As soon as she realized it was Yggdrasil calling her, she quickly lowered her head. Initina didn’t show any signs of surprise at seeing someone who looked just like her. It seemed almost natural to her.

“Long time no see. Have you been well?”

“I’m fine. But I was in the middle of a fight…”

“That pathetic creature died a long time ago—”

“Hey.”

Blas was once again looking down at us, having reconstructed his body. His aura was far more sinister than before.

“Huh? Why are you still alive?”

“Did you really think such a pathetic magic could kill me?!”

He swung his sword, slicing through my barrier.

Initina’s level of magic was on par with Maria, yet it was effortlessly severed, raising a question in my mind.

What’s going on? Something feels off.

Why does that punk seem to have even more magic than before?

No matter how much I rubbed my eyes and looked again, Blas’s body was exuding even denser magic than earlier.

“Don’t tell me…”

“That was quite impressive. Well, I guess I’ll kill you for sure this time—”

“‘Life Crush.’”

Splatter!

“Is this how it’s done?”

“Ugh!”

Initina looked down at her half-destroyed upper body, spitting out blood. Thankfully, I acted quickly, and blocked the magic using the All-Cutting Sword, allowing her to escape instant death.

“You keep interfering, Praus!”

“I wouldn’t have died even without your help.”

Can’t you even say thank you?

She wiped blood from the corner of her mouth with the back of her hand. As she placed her hand on her body, her lost limbs started to regenerate.

“The sensation of magic wrapping around my body is absolutely revolting.”

“Agreed. It feels like I’m covered in filth whenever my mana touches me.”

That was all they spoke of.

As soon as their conversation ended, they lunged at each other.

Every time they cast magic, their mana and magic clashed violently. The shockwaves made me feel like I could be blown away.

Damn it, I haven’t even explained the plan yet! If they go and get themselves killed, it defeats the purpose of summoning them.

Initina was the only viable asset to replace the nearly dead heroes.

“Is there such a being among spirits! This is interesting!”

Boom!

Once again, mana and magic collided, resulting in an explosion.

“Hey!”

Initina, landing beside me, shouted.

“That guy can’t die even if his body bursts? Is there no way to kill him? Normal demons die just by beheading them.”

“That guy isn’t a normal demon. He’s the Demon King.”

“What?”

“So don’t charge in recklessly; just listen to me.”

“What, you punk!”

“I’ve thought of a way to kill him.”

Even if I cut with the All-Cutting Sword, he restores himself through his vast reservoir of magic. He survives even if beheaded or blown apart. I realized that Initina’s magic wouldn’t be enough to kill him.

Moreover, as time passed, the amount of magic spilling from the Demon King increases. It felt as if he was absorbing the mana we used.

Once I gathered all the information I had, I concluded that to kill the Demon King, I first had to eliminate the source of all evil: his magic.

“Initina, create an opening.”

“What? Why do you speak like it’s a command? So rude?!”

“So I can jam the Purification Stone into his body.”

Ignoring Initina’s resistance, I continued.

“The Purification Stone… Will that work?”

“It should, if my assumption is correct.”

She stared at me intently before turning away abruptly.

“…Fine. But if you can’t do it, I’m going to kill you myself.”

When you talk like that, it just kills the mood!

“…Fine.”
