The Demon King appeared before me.
I politely knelt before her…
Then, the Demon King spoke to me in a calm voice, “Please, sit comfortably. I hope your meal wasn’t interrupted by my presence.”
“Ah… No, not at all. I was just about to finish. I’m rather humbled to be treated to such a splendid meal.”
“Thank you for saying that.”
At my words, the Demon King flashed a cold yet breathtakingly beautiful smile.
Seeing her like this, I took a seat as instructed…
Then, she looked at me and asked in a calm tone, “So, do you like living here? If there’s anything uncomfortable, please tell me.”
“Ah… No, it’s perfectly fine. I’m beyond grateful for your kindness.”
“Is that so? Well, I’m truly relieved to hear that.”
The Demon King smiled, as if feeling a moment of relief.
However, despite her beauty, I couldn’t help but feel a tightening in my chest at that moment.
She seemed to show kindness, yet the dark shadow in her gaze made me reinforce my resolve within.
‘That uneasy look on her face as we talk… Clearly, the Demon King is still suspicious of me. Though she doesn’t seem to plan anything immediate since I’ve sworn my loyalty, I might be in serious danger if I don’t achieve something noticeable quickly.’
My oath of loyalty to the Demon King started off with many regrets.
Moreover, as a human, I needed to prove my loyalty as a warrior of the Demon Race rather than a human hero as fast as I could.
It was a matter of revenge, but more importantly, to live a sweet life as the Demon King’s trusted aide safely.
‘The Demon King coming here must mean she has some sort of orders for me. Perhaps, she’ll have me attack a human city to test my loyalty.’
Testing the new hunting dog’s obedience is typically done through tasks.
In that sense, I felt like a newcomer receiving my first assignment.
Simultaneously, I thought about the need to seize the opportunity to make my contributions as I looked at the Demon King before me and asked earnestly, “Your Majesty, I would like to hear why you have come to see me directly…”
“Are you asking why I sought you out?”
The Demon King’s expression became serious at my words.
And while her appearance was undeniably beautiful, I kept my feelings hidden and spoke with a voice full of loyalty.
“Yes, Your Majesty. Do you have any commands for me, who is now your sword? Whatever it is, just say the word, and I shall accomplish it by any means necessary.”
“Well…”
With that, the Demon King gave a darker expression and slowly nodded.
Seeing her like this, I was certain she was preparing to test me with her coming orders.
‘What kind of task will she assign me?.. Surely it must involve something like massacring humans… Or perhaps conquering an entire castle… Those must be her orders?’
Whichever it was, in terms of proving my loyalty, it was clear her commands would involve killing humans.
However, unlike the original hero, I honestly did not feel any aversion to that notion right now.
After all, considering this is an NTR game world, the humans here weren’t exactly normal.
From merchants who scammed a hero party trying to save the world to townsfolk who would steal under the guise of offering hospitality, creating distrust in humans felt utterly natural.
Plus, all the lords being utterly rotten led me to think they had done well preserving their roles.
The state of human society here was literally hell on earth brought upon by a revolution rather than the Demon King and Demon Races.
‘Or could it be that the Racial Alliance attacking the Demons is also rooted in this situation?’
Even in reality, when the political or economic situation at home is a mess, nations often resort to invading others to divert public attention.
Such events still happen in our contemporary society where civic consciousness is somewhat awake; needless to say, it would be even more prevalent in a medieval fantasy setting where such ideologies are absent.
Regardless, given the overall dire state of humanity, I felt no aversion to causing chaos amongst them.
Instead, if I thought about it more seriously, this comprehensive situation fueled my desire to take revenge against the humans and the Racial Alliance that led to the tragic ending of the hero’s attempts to save the world.
And at this very moment,
I displayed my genuine eagerness born from this background and awaited the orders of the Demon King before me…
In response, the Demon King gave a small sigh, as if feeling my trust was in doubt, and began to issue her “command.”
*
The Demon King had asked me to state what I needed as a hero.
She had plans to bestow upon me wealth, power, or perhaps even women, as much as I desired.
However… in response to her offer, I firmly stated that I needed nothing.
Just one thing… I wanted the Demon King’s orders.
In other words, I was asking for a chance to take revenge on those humans.
And decisively… as I made this request, I displayed an intimidating fervor.
Having the most powerful strength and such fierce desire for battle was undoubtedly a positive thing for the national interest of the Demon Kingdom.
However, despite that, the sight of me made the Demon King feel increasingly uncomfortable.
She felt a slight relief knowing the hero had enjoyed his meal.
But upon reflection, it seemed that the hero’s actions were merely to recharge for his deep-seated revenge.
‘I suspected it might come to this… but I never thought he would actually request to be sent to a bloody battlefield. Hero, is revenge truly all that resides in your mind?’
The once noble warrior displayed a state utterly pitiful.
Yet, despite his tragic condition, the Demon King had no choice but to issue a command.
Because it was something he desired…
And fundamentally, the task she designated him was immensely important and had to succeed at this stage.
“Understood, Your Majesty. I will carry out your orders flawlessly without fail.”
So declared the hero, filled with deep loyalty and joy as he shouted towards her.
Witnessing his demeanor, the Demon King controlled her fleeting feelings of guilt, hardening her face as she slowly nodded in response.
“Then I ask of you, Hero.”
“Yes, Your Majesty!”
