I wanted to stay in this perfectly calm atmosphere a little longer.
Was it because of Dogun’s warmth?
At some point, I felt sleepy as if someone had poured sleep over me, and when I regained my senses, the sun was already shining outside in the dim light.
“Ugh…!”
Not only that, but my body also felt quite sluggish, so it seemed I had fallen asleep nestled in Dogun’s arms.
Realizing this, it felt a bit chilly, and I was probably trying to burrow back into Dogun’s embrace to find warmth.
Could it be that my little fidgeting had woken me up?
Dogun’s tightly closed eyes fluttered, and after a moment, the body that had been hidden beneath his eyelids revealed itself.
But maybe he couldn’t shake off the lingering drowsiness that still lay heavily upon his eyelids.
As if to shake off the sleepiness, he repeatedly opened and closed his eyes a few times; thanks to that, he seemed to gather some clarity and looked at me with slightly hazy eyes before eventually closing them again, breaking into a bashful smile.
“Did you wake up?”
Then, quietly, he pulled me closer into his embrace.
Did Dogun know?
That someone could feel their heart racing to the point of bursting from his unconscious actions while he was half-asleep?
Probably not.
If he knew, he wouldn’t be so carefree with people’s feelings.
“Seriously…”
To make someone’s heart race like this from the morning.
It’s said that everything that feels good to the mouth is basically bad for the body, and what Dogun was doing now was exactly that.
It made sense because just a moment ago, my heart had been quietly leaping happily, but now it felt like it was thumping loudly.
Whether he knew it or not, or maybe he did it deliberately, Dogun showed no indication of loosening his hold around me.
“Feels nice.”
Not only did he not let go, but he even buried his face deeper into my shoulder, showing no signs of releasing me for the time being.
Ignoring the increasing chaos in my heart, I tried to sound as nonchalant as possible.
“…What?”
Still, my voice trembled slightly.
“Um… it’s warm and squishy… just like…”
Just like?
“I guess like freshly made rice cake?”
If it’s warm and squishy, there are many things that could fit that description, so why specifically rice cake?
Out of curiosity, I asked why rice cake, and the answer I got in return was something I never expected.
“Because both rice cakes and you, Yoonseo, are delicious?”
Seriously… what are you saying…
What’s amusing is that even with such nonsensical remarks, I couldn’t help but find his playful expression adorable.
They say that during romance, it’s harder to break free from someone when they seem cuter than they are handsome, and that seemed to be true.
Probably due to just waking up, I couldn’t tell if something was in my eyes, but seeing Dogun mumble with sleep still lingering in his voice made my heart race uncontrollably.
It’s like my heart was malfunctioning, not responding to my wishes and bouncing around on its own.
So while I buried my face into Dogun’s chest, I might have let out a sigh without trying to show it.
He just said it was like freshly made rice cake, and it seemed he genuinely enjoyed the soft feeling.
At some point, I felt Dogun’s hand sneak inside my clothes and start softly kneading the warmth of my body.
Well, that part I could understand, but why was he constantly touching my chest… could this be a signal?
“Are you a baby? Are you obsessed with my chest?”
“Uh-uh, I’m a baby.”
“Ew… what are you saying, that’s just gross…”
Although I said that immediately, it didn’t feel gross; it felt adorable instead.
Because of that, I couldn’t help but think I was in deep trouble.
Even a sight that others would find repulsive seemed adorable to me.
Seriously, was my vision clouded or something?
Even as I wondered this internally, Dogun’s hand didn’t stop exploring inside my clothes, and as a result… I felt something at the tips of my chest starting to awaken.
“Hmm… You were saying I was too obsessed with your chest, yet look at this—”
“That’s because you keep touching me!”
Even if I just let him touch me, my body had no choice but to respond. This was a human body, a woman’s body, and especially Dogun’s hands were rather daring, right?
And with his left hand, which elicited a strange pleasure that was hard to articulate just from the mere touch… If I didn’t react, wouldn’t that be even stranger?
“Ugh… ah, don’t…”
Had he fully committed now? Dogun’s fingers continued to tease the sensitive spots, making me tremble as I pondered whether to succumb to this obvious trickery of his or not.
Knock, knock—
Considering it’s morning, perhaps someone came to check the patient’s condition.
Suddenly, I felt wide awake as if a bucket of cold water had been poured over me, and I hurriedly pulled away from Dogun’s embrace.
Then I retreated to the caregiver’s bed and started fixing my disheveled clothes, all while Dogun looked at me with an expression that clearly showed he was sad.
“Ah, yes, you can come in.”
As soon as Dogun uttered that to the door, it swung open, revealing none other than—
“I thought someone was busy this morning — looking all loved up and cozy? Hmm?”
It was Chae-rim’s Sister.
I had assumed it would be one of the doctors or nurses checking on Dogun’s condition, but to find it was Chae-rim’s Sister was surprising.
Forget that part, though; how strange it was for someone who worked late nights as the Vice Chairman of the Association to show up at this hour.
“Yoonseo, you too. When you returned from the business trip, at least let our parents see your face. Do you know how busy I was because you just sent a text and disappeared?”
“W-What…? Really?”
That’s strange… I clearly remembered writing to my mom and dad that I would be stopping by Dogun’s hospital before heading home.
“Oh, maybe…”
Could my vague message about stopping by be the reason? Sending a message that way but not actually returning home must have led to this situation.
“What are you doing? Hurry up and call our parents!”
Since she was saying all that, it must be true.
“Y-Yes…!”
Well, I didn’t mean to make them worry. I never thought that falling dead asleep from the warmth Dogun radiated would come to this.
“And after you finish talking with our parents, let’s have a quick chat, just you and me.”
“What? Oh, okay.”
Though I was indeed at fault, it seemed that there was some fault on her part too, so maybe that was why I didn’t particularly like how this atmosphere felt like I was just being scolded.
As if patiently waiting for the right moment, Dogun swiftly interjected when the conversation between the two of us came to a close.
“But what’s my sister doing here at this time?”
Only after hearing Dogun’s question did she seem to remember the reason for her visit.
“Oh, right. I should have mentioned this first…”
For a moment, she muttered to herself about her mental state, then entered the hospital room with a big smile and pulled something out of the briefcase she had.
“Do you know what this is?”
Then, she waved something that looked obviously like a document envelope in front of me.
“What is that?”
“What could it be? Of course, it’s the discharge papers.”
“Discharge papers? You mean for…?”
“Yep, that’s right. So, Dogun, hurry up and pack your things.”
With that, she confidently declared that it was time to go home.
