[TS] Obsessed Gamer: The Ultimate Return – Chapter 279

Give and take.

BLH dreamt of one last team fight as they handed over objectives to OLZ one by one.

First came the dragon, then the Rift Herald.

Again the dragon, again the Herald.

Soon after, turrets—another turret.

Despite the game gradually tipping in favor of OLZ, there was hardly any energy left in BLH to resist.

But BLH still had one last move up their sleeve.

Diana, alone on the side.

Seeing that, BLH made their move in unison.

“Right now, we need to focus on bot!”

Let’s catch Diana, let’s catch Outlaw.

Even with the top and mid tier two turrets under pressure at the same time, BLH seemed to think this way as all five charged in.

“Looks like they decided to take down Diana?!”

“There’s a bounty on Diana right now?! If only… if we could catch her, BLH might still have a shot!”

“But we need to act quickly! If we stall too long, both top and mid will fall!”

“Exactly!”

“Teleporting to bot now!”

Whee—

It started with Renekton’s teleport from behind.

The ward placed earlier by the supporter was now coming into play.

“We’re tightening the noose! Can Diana make it out?!”

– Diana looks like a monster right now, can she survive?

– Still better to do something than just lose, right?

– Can they actually catch her?

– Isn’t this a one versus five death? LOL

The audience was calm.

The situation was heavily in OLZ’s favor, so even if Diana died here, the chances of changing the game were slim to none.

Renekton closed in from behind.

In response, four champions from BLH charged toward Diana.

As Renekton unleashed his ability, Jin’s ability followed up seamlessly.

In the meantime, BLH’s champions were rushing in.

Just before Leona’s crowd control landed on Diana, her body shimmered with golden light.

It was Junya’s Sand Hourglass.

“Uh, well, she did use Junya… but won’t she die right after this?”

“BLH’s champions are gathering around Diana one by one!”

The duration of Junya’s Hourglass was 2.5 seconds.

One second at a time was crucial, but it wasn’t a long time for her to endure while isolated.

But what if it was 5 seconds instead of 2.5?

“Uh-oh?”

The Junya-Hourglass combo.

Diana, who should have died long ago, managed to stall for one more turn, causing BLH’s strategy to unravel.

During what felt like an eternity, BLH’s momentum started to fade.

And during that time, OLZ’s other teammates were not idle.

As soon as the Hourglass activated, a magic circle was drawn at Diana’s feet.

“Uh, uh-oh…?!”

But that wasn’t all.

Flames began to ignite from the minions next to Diana.

It was Yune’s Teleport.

“Uh-oh-oh-oh!!!!”

– What the?!

– No way, right?

In a situation where only “uh” was the sound escaping from everyone’s mouths, Galion’s ultimate dropped, completely changing the situation.

Boom—!

Galion’s ultimate hit massively.

To top it off, Diana’s ultimate followed up, layering two area-of-effect abilities in quick succession.

Before the sequence of events could settle down, Galion had used his taunt on four enemies, and Yune arrived via teleportation.

On paper, it looked like a 3 versus 5, but with the leveled difference and the flawless execution of Galion and Diana’s ultimates hitting the entire enemy team, it was a different story.

In that scenario, landing a multi-target ultimate with Yune was child’s play.

“No, no, this can’t be…!!!”

“Ahhh! Getback’s Galion has really emerged like a hero!”

“This is really happening…!”

As BLH’s champions got swept away.

– Enemy eliminated!

– Double Kill!

– Triple Kill!

Jhin, who had been relatively far back, managed to slip away without getting caught, but waiting behind were Ezreal and Yuumi.

– Cleanup!

The champions from BLH aiming for Diana couldn’t even achieve their primary goal and were instead routed.

And with the champions that needed to defend already eliminated, one conclusion was clear.

“OLZ’s champions are charging in! Can BLH hold them back?!”

“Ahh… BLH even tried for one last comeback, but it looks like this is it!”

OLZ’s champions advanced relentlessly and soon destroyed BLH’s Nexus.

“Jiji!”

[Victory]

– Wow, insane!

– That was epic.

– What just happened?

– Outlaw! Outlaw! Outlaw! Outlaw! Outlaw! Outlaw! Outlaw! Outlaw! Outlaw! Outlaw!

– Getback was amazing!

– Insane to survive two turns with Junya and then Galion’s ult, wow!

– That was wild!

– Are they not going to show a replay?

The chat exploded, and so did the cheers from outside the arena.

*

“Everyone did great.”

“Good job, good job.”

A smooth victory in the first set.

It felt like a usual win, but somehow, the opponent seemed excessively intimidated.

The BLH we knew was a team that knew when to seal the deal, yet just earlier, they had seemed so helpless, merely giving away the game.

Maybe that’s why Baek Seong-an spoke up.

“I think… we’ve created some kind of image for our team among the Challengers Korea community.”

“What kind of image?”

“Like, they’ll never win, something like that?”

Kim Jae-min chimed in.

“That’s a fact though.”

“Shut it.”

Despite Jaem-min’s interruptions, Baek Seong-an continued.

“But our goal is the promotion tournament, right? The teams we’ll face there are not from Champions Korea, but from the top division.”

“What are you trying to say?”

“Don’t let your guard down.”

Kim Jae-min replied again.

“Aw, come on.”

“You’re the biggest problem here.”

“I was the one carrying in the first set!”

“Hmm.”

And then…

Amid trivial banter, the second set began in earnest.

As Baek Seong-an said, BLH showed a somewhat defensive stance in the second set.

We took charge right from the lane phase and rolled the snowball forward just like we did in the first set.

Taking down opponents,

Seizing dragons,

Claiming the Herald,

And eventually taking the game.

[Victory]

OLZ vs BLH.

2:0 OLZ wins.

This way, we wrapped up the regular season of Legends of League Challengers Korea, undefeated in sets.

“Thanks for your hard work.”

“Great job, everyone.”

“Good job.”

Whether we won or lost this game, our straight passage to the promotion tournament and the title of Challengers Korea champions had already been secured, so the team’s reactions were surprisingly calm.

– Woahhh!!!

But while we were like that, the fans watching the game were a different story.

The audience erupted in cheer.

“OLZ players, please come out!”

Following the staff’s call, we exited the booth.

The monumental roar that greeted us was an entirely different magnitude than what we’d heard inside.

– OLZ! OLZ! OLZ!

– Outlaw! Outlaw!

Uh…

The voices from the stands felt louder than usual, and it wasn’t just a coincidence.

Today marked the last day of the regular season of Legends of League Challengers Korea.

Furthermore, it was the day our team would be crowned champions of Challengers Korea.

We greeted the audience and stood waiting.

As we stood there for a moment, the commentators began the official interview.

“First of all, congratulations on finishing the regular season with a victory on the last day! Let’s hear your thoughts one by one. First up… Honor?”

“Uh… I’m just glad we won.”

“Great, and now, Outlaw?”

“Thanks for the support. We’ll definitely win in the promotion tournament and meet you all on a bigger stage.”

“Haha! A bold ambition! We look forward to it. And, Getback?”

“I never thought I’d be on a professional stage again… I’m really grateful to my teammates, and we’ll be working hard in the remaining promotion tournament. Thank you.”

“And Jaem-min?”

“Uh, umm… for the promotion tournament… um. I’ll do great.”

The commentators’ faces showed genuine surprise.

“…What?”

“Oh, mistake. Mistake. I’ll work hard.”

“…Haha! It seems Jaem-min is pretty nervous. Protein?”

“I’ll do my best.”

After everyone shared their brief thoughts, the official trophy presentation began.

“Actually, there has never been a match called a final in the Challengers Korea, so we never had a trophy presentation before. But that has changed this season!”

“Yeah. There were a lot of complaints that it didn’t feel like a proper victory!”

I didn’t know why such a change had suddenly occurred, but standing in front of the trophy made my heart race.

“Alright, OLZ players! Congratulations on your victory!”

“Congratulations!”

The trophy presentation officially began.

– Woahhh!!!

– OLZ! OLZ! OLZ!

Thus, our team held up the trophy together.

It was smaller than I expected, but it didn’t matter since I was planning to hold a bigger one later.

“Now, let’s announce the POG for the regular season. The prestigious POG is… Outlaw!”

With that, another huge cheer erupted from the audience.

– Woahhh!!!

– Outlaw! Outlaw! Outlaw!

“Alright, Outlaw, come over here.”

“Uh… yeah, yeah.”

“Being selected as the comprehensive POG for the regular season, how do you feel?”

“Uh… I think it’s nice. Thank you all for your support. I’ll show an even better performance in the promotion tournament.”

“Outlaw’s ambitious hope! We’ll keep our expectations high. Now, how about lifting the trophy in front of the fans!”

“Uh, sure?”

“The trophy!”

In reality, winning the Challengers Korea title was less valuable than the immediate entry into the promotion tournament.

But even so, holding the trophy made my heart swell with emotion.

“Uh, um…”

I slowly reached out for the trophy.
