What should a laner do first after getting a solo kill against the opposing champion?
Of course, they should push the lane.
If they go home without managing the lane, there are often times when despite the solo kill, they end up falling behind in levels and losing the lane against the one they killed.
Usually, this phenomenon occurs mainly in lower tiers where players lack a grasp of lane management, but it’s not completely absent in higher tiers either.
Even if they got a solo kill, if their health or mana is in a dire state due to potential ganks from the enemy jungler, and their own jungler can’t help, laners might choose to go home at the cost of a disadvantage.
However, there are situations where pushing the lane becomes an absolute necessity, even if it means taking risks.
What we call a “push, even if it means dying.”
“I guess I’m not going home.”
After solo killing Sion, Jui immediately began spamming skills in an effort to push the lane.
Jui had about half health left and was almost out of mana.
“If I use my Q to push the lane now, I won’t have mana for my Sleep.”
So, I deliberately moved a bit slower.
To let Jui feel at ease while pushing.
Of course, the opposing Diana might also be rushing to mid, but that didn’t matter.
I was sure she would be much slower than I anticipated.
“Now.”
Just before Jui cleared the entire wave.
At the moment Jui was most relaxed, I struck like lightning.
[“Jui has Flash.”]
“Yeah, I know.”
As I approached Jui terrifyingly with ward protection, she used Flash to escape.
She probably thought she was escaping from my E range, but my Q was already on its way to where she had just flashed.
From the start, Jui’s movements had been in the palm of my hand.
“I got her.”
Jui was at half health.
She had already been hit by Lee Sin’s Q.
In this situation, there was no way for Jui to survive.
-Enemy eliminated!
-Dominating!
[“Nice!”]
[“Oh, that was a sweet kill!”]
[“Big Sis, carry me~”]
“Just trust me.”
[“Ahh, Big Sis, I’m dying.”]
“I’m really heading to kill.”
Even though our team’s mid had just gotten a solo kill, the atmosphere in the team was surprisingly good.
It was partly because the game was in a favorable state, but mainly because I had taken down Jui, who had gotten a bounty.
The gold difference that had widened between the two teams due to Sion’s discrepancy was quickly narrowed.
However, the target that received the gold was different.
You could say that Sion’s gold stationed in mid had effectively transferred to the jungle.
And soon after, Sion, who had died much earlier than Jui, returned to lane.
Among the many champions, the reason why Sion could pull off such a strategy was simple.
Out of all the champions, Sion was the fastest at pushing turrets.
To prove that fact, as soon as Sion returned to mid, the enemy Diana hastily came to cover mid.
They knew very well what would happen if they left the mid turret open against a so-called “suicide Sion.”
Returning to lane, Sion took a few risky trades and pushed the lane again.
Deliberately dying is trolling.
But fighting without fear of death can cause the opponent to lose their turn.
And…….
Eventually, it became time for the first Rift Herald fight.
Perhaps due to the tight bout in the bot lane, it seemed like one side would usually either join the Herald first or both would, but neither bot lane team moved.
In other words, the outcome of the first Rift Herald fight was now solely dependent on the strength of the top jungle.
Naturally, the team feeling good in this situation was us.
The enemy top Irelia had recorded a staggering 2 deaths, and Uni was ahead by one level.
Moreover, how was the jungle?
Diana and Lee Sin, who had focused more on farming and sharing lanes, were at the same level.
So while there might not have been a visible difference, the gap in team resources had already widened.
While our mid Jui was slightly stronger, it was not a difference that could turn the tides.
Above all, as long as Sion continued to stand in mid, Jui couldn’t afford to leave the mid lane carelessly.
If she carelessly joined the Rift fight, Sion pushing mid would be just as good as securing the mid turret.
Given the situation, the Rift fight naturally became a 2v2 battle in the top jungle.
“I’ll start hitting it first.”
[“Okay.”]
“Watch your angles while pushing the lane reasonably. If the enemy Irelia doesn’t come, you don’t have to come either.”
Of course, in the current timing, the 1v1 matchup between Lee Sin and Diana would favor Diana, but since I was ahead in items, I wasn’t worried.
Most importantly, due to Diana’s nature, if I could avoid her skills, it was absolutely worth a try.
I began to slowly hit the Rift Herald.
I deliberately saved my skills aside from my protective ones, holding back as much as possible.
After all, even hitting the Herald with just auto-attacks while W was on would suffice for damage and health management, so I planned to see how things developed.
[“Looks like they’re just giving it up.”]
“They’re giving it up way too easily.”
Thinking the situation was unfavorable, the GBP coolly decided to concede the Herald.
-Red team has slain the Rift Herald!
-Blue team has slain the Ocean Dragon!
Of course, they took the Dragon in payment, but the value of the first Herald and first Dragon is incomparable.
“I’ll watch for a mid dive while we release the Herald.”
[“Understood.”]
Of course, the enemy probably knew our intentions, as Diana was seen waiting slightly while hitting the Frostbird.
It was a fight that wasn’t necessary for them to take.
But there was no reason not to.
“I’ll release the Herald right away, tank the turret.”
I purposefully released the Herald a bit further away and narrowed the mid dive angles through the enemy upper jungle.
As soon as Sion initiated with his ultimate, Jui’s Sleep went off.
It was also my turn to step in.
[“I’m going to sleep.”]
“That’s fine.”
Even though Sion’s Q didn’t connect due to the Sleep, the tower aggro was already drawn to Sion.
In this situation, it was a piece of cake for me to give Jui a big kick.
And the moment I struck Jui…
Diana, who was watching for a counter-gank, appeared from below.
-Enemy eliminated!
Fortunately, I caught Jui cleanly with a QRQ combo before Diana could join in, but what Diana was targeting was Sion, who was drawing the tower aggro.
Since Sion was already barely holding the aggro, he was pulled inside tower range and got smacked around after getting hit by Diana’s ultimate.
[“Dead for sure.”]
Ultimately, Sion fell.
But just as Sion briefly returned from death, he slammed the mid turret with savage might, and even managed to snag a decent bit of fun while being watched by Diana.
-Our ally has been slain!
As Sion’s passive expired, the Herald I purposely released earlier came forth to slam the mid turret and the bounty gold was neatly deposited into my account.
1:1 trade.
Sion had died again.
But at the same time, it was also true that I was growing larger.
[“Not bad.”]
The game continued.
Despite Sion dying a whopping two times, the side under pressure for the mid first turret was the enemy.
Besides, as Sion’s items came out, it became more and more difficult for Jui to find solo kill opportunities like in the early game.
Due to the inherent characteristics of AP mage champions being weak against tanks.
No matter how little Sion’s itemization leaned towards tank items, due to his passive, he had become too burdensome for Jui to break through.
[“It doesn’t hurt, you floor-sitter.”]
Baek Seong-an was playing Sion with an unusually high tension.
Perhaps sensing that Sion had crossed a certain line, the enemy jungle and supporter came to gank mid.
Sion died again.
-Our ally has been slain!
But during that downtime, on the contrary, our bot was reaping benefits.
-Blue team’s turret has been destroyed!
Sion had simply been pushing the lane and hitting the turret in mid, yet the game’s control naturally shifted to our team.
Slowly, little by little.
Even though it was a situation that could be frustrating for the enemy, they had no choice.
This was the current Legends of League.
Typically, the League hinges on who finds the answer to the current meta first.
Of course, this isn’t the only answer.
But what we could offer in our team’s situation was definitely the closest thing to the right answer.
The second Rift Herald.
The second and third Dragons.
And Baron.
[Victory]
