[TS] Obsessed Gamer: The Ultimate Return – Chapter 306

No matter how much the meta has changed lately, allowing for a turnaround with just one win after losing nine times, it only works if you can actually win that one time.

Fundamentally, Legends of League is designed so that the team in a better position has a higher probability of winning.

No matter how the meta shifts, that’s an unchanging truth.

8 minutes in.

First Rift Herald timing.

You could say it’s practically the most crucial objective in professional matches—a key point for snowballing.

If things were normal, the GBP team likely would have handed it over to us without a fuss.

But maybe they thought the situation was too dire because their champions moved out in plain sight.

[“Looks like their entire bot lane is coming up.”]

“Understood.”

But unfortunately for GBP, this pattern was one we had encountered way too many times.

“Just let the Jaem-min eat the bot.”

[“Doing it.”]

Yuumi had already returned ahead of schedule and was riding on me.

So, even though the opposing bot lane was on their way up, it was technically a 3:4 situation.

Of course, our ADC was Jhin, so trying to take down the turret alone wouldn’t do much, but we didn’t really change our pattern.

[“That’s a Tahm Kench for the enemy, so he’ll join us quickly.”]

[“Got it.”]

Even though there were growth differences, it didn’t mean the enemy had no chance.

If we didn’t act now, they’d have no choice but to get dragged into the first Rift Herald snowball and end up losing helplessly.

We’ve always done that until now.

Without hesitation, we started hitting the Rift Herald first.

There wasn’t much risk in taking it down first, so we had nothing to lose.

Naturally, it was us who took position around the Rift Herald with lane control from top.

The enemy top Graves was in ruins after a solo kill and a dive, so he was practically powerless.

The enemy Lee Sin and Sylas were lurking around, trying to find angles.

But our composition was way better for a standoff, so they couldn’t just engage recklessly.

If they stumbled in, they’d end up handing over the Rift Herald before a fight even started due to pokes from Jason, Janna, and Yuumi.

So the enemy waited.

Until their bot could join.

But the Rift Herald’s health had already dropped below 3,000.

Now, with just a glance and a smite, we could take down the Herald.

That’s when the Tahm Kench joined in.

[“Looks like Lee Sin is going for the steal.”]

“It’s fine. We won’t lose the smite fight.”

I might have felt strange saying that, but in this setup, holding onto the smite gives us a massive edge.

Of course, that’s only if we don’t lose it.

As the Herald’s eyes drooped and its health fell below 1,000, the enemy finally made their move alongside Lee Sin.

‘They want to kick me and steal it.’

That’s what Lee Sin had to do.

It was such an obvious move.

Having already read Lee Sin’s intentions, I confidently shot my skill.

“Start with Lee Sin.”

Charging my skill after casting my ultimate.

Of course, Lee Sin’s kick, which was aimed at knocking me away, only dealt damage, failing its true intention of kicking me out of the Baron pit.

He had lost that skill fight decisively.

After absorbing Lee Sin’s ultimate, I promptly kicked the terrified Lee Sin.

Thanks to Janna and Yuumi, one kick took a huge chunk of Lee Sin’s health.

Lee Sin hastily threw his Q smite at the Herald but only managed to get its health down to about 100.

The damage was too little, but he was too panicked to think it through.

– The red team has slain the Rift Herald!

Of course, the Herald belonged to us, and while Lee Sin tried to flee, he already had taken too much damage by then.

Just when Lee Sin was about to fall, Sylas, who had stolen Janna’s ultimate, used it on him.

“Stop the damage.”

But unfortunately, the orders weren’t well communicated, and in the end, Lee Sin’s time rewind was activated.

[“Aw, too bad.”]

“It’s fine. We got Sylas’s ult out.”

If Sylas had stolen Hecarim’s ultimate, it would have been way more threatening in the team fight.

So, in a way, it was right to see this situation as us stealing their threatening ultimate.

As the fight began in earnest, Sylas and Tahm Kench dove in.

Graves entered a moment late, but he hurriedly followed.

The enemy initially targeted Janna.

Considering how tricky Janna’s ultimate is, they likely wanted to take it out first or prevent her from using it.

With the focus on Janna, she had no choice but to use her ultimate on herself.

“Start with Sylas.”

Sylas used his flash, along with his E and W.

You could say he had lost practically all his escape tools.

As Janna’s time rewind took effect, we focused on Sylas.

During that time, Lee Sin, who had returned thanks to time rewind, used shielding on Sylas, but he couldn’t withstand all the incoming focus.

Though Tahm Kench was nearby, he hadn’t hit level 6 yet and couldn’t tank any damage.

– An enemy has been slain!

But as expected, gaining came with a cost; after taking out Sylas, reviving Janna got focused by the enemy champions.

– An ally has been slain!

Then, Jinx joined in.

Now it was a 3:4 situation.

[“Can we get out of this?”]

Kim Jae-min, who was peacefully mining bot turret shields below, piped up.

As he said, there was no need to fight under unfavorable conditions unless the enemy pushed.

However, that only applied if they allowed us to escape.

“I’ll draw the aggro.”

[“Okay.”]

Yuumi instantly understood what I meant and hopped onto Jason.

Then we both rode the acceleration gate, dashing off in different directions.

As Jason and Hecarim split apart, the enemy’s focus split into two as well.

‘Avoiding the Tahm Kench’s Q, Jinx’s W and traps.’

At level 6, the cooldown for my dive is 24 seconds.

And now, it had been just about that long since my first dive.

I clung to Jinx as I activated my dive, then dashed straight down a line to escape.

I was barely hanging on to life, but the enemy had almost no means to pursue me.

[“Oh, survived?”]

“Yeah, I made it.”

[“Nice!”]

A 1:1 trade.

But since we had already taken the Rift Herald and were mining the bot, it was almost entirely a one-sided gain.

And……

We smashed down the top outer turret with the first Rift Herald, and even managed to hit the second outer turret.

– The blue team’s turret has been destroyed!

The snowballing had begun to pick up speed.

At the center of it all was our AD carry, Jhin, who had been pushed and grown by us.

[“I’m going to carry now.”]

[“Well, of course. We’ve earned it.”]

[“Hmmm.”]

Of course, the champion Jhin does have some growth limits, but that only matters when there are troublesome tanks in the opposing composition.

Against that type of composition, Jhin could definitely thrive.

Especially against picks like Graves, who could serve as a pseudo-tank among enemy champions.

From here on out, we could do things our way.

– The red team has slain the Wind Dragon!

We ate the dragon and pressured bot, completely pushing the almost mined out bot outer turret.

– The blue team’s turret has been destroyed!

The enemy had no strength left to stop us.

They had already used what little strength they had at the Herald, and failed to gain anything.

The gap in growth wasn’t closing.

The enemy had champions skilled in combat, but we had champions great at countering.

Particularly, champions like Janna stood out.

From the enemy’s perspective, whoever they wanted to eliminate, Janna’s presence blocked that route before it could happen.

One by one.

We claimed our rights, and the enemy had no choice but to concede.

Second Rift Herald, dragon.

Mid outer turret.

And then, Baron.

The enemy hadn’t refrained from making bold moves.

However, just when the Baron spawned, there had been accidents, such as Sylas getting a solo kill on Jason, who was hidden in the Honor pit.

Among those moments, there were also times when Hecarim, Yuumi, Janna, and Jason’s combo shone.

As Hecarim, whose movement speed had been buffed thrice and with Ghost activated, rushed in, the enemy Jinx was literally flattened.

There was no choice for the enemy but to lose their will to fight.

– The red team has slain the Nashor!

After taking down the Baron, the result was practically set in stone.

“Let’s go.”

Jason and Janna, with the Baron buff, and Jhin and Yuumi.

Gathered like divinities of a standoff, the enemy fell to a few pokes before they could even engage, crumbling down.

– An enemy has been slain!

– Double kill!

The enemy had completely lost their will to fight.

Even as we smashed through the inhibitor turret, destroyed the inhibitor, and advanced to attack the Nexus turrets, they didn’t stand a chance.

[“Turret, turret.”]

“Let’s finish this!”

[“Finish! Finish!”]

Our team’s voices rose in excitement.

Finally, the multi-match was heading toward its final moment.

With both Nexus turrets destroyed, the enemy Nexus finally revealed its frailness.

[“Finish!”]

Baek Seong-an let out a roar mixed with a cry.

Despite the enemy reviving and retaliating, we didn’t stop.

The health of the Nexus dropped.

And at last, the Nexus was destroyed.

[Victory]

In the light of the words that emerged, everyone jumped from their seats.
