[TS] Obsessed Gamer: The Ultimate Return – Chapter 320

The ban/pick phase is complete.

[Ally / Enemy]

Top: Malphite (Unrated) / Kamal (Platinum)

Jungle: Viego (Challenger) / Rek’Sai (Dia)

Mid: Yasuon (Gold) / Zed (Platinum)

Bot Lane: Ash (Unrated) / Ezreal (Gold)

Support: Yuumi (Bronze) / Senna (Dia)

Yasuon versus Zed. Zed versus Yasuon.

The reason today’s internal battle started was simply due to a pride clash between a Gold Mid Laner and a Platinum Mid Laner, so perhaps the outcome of the mid lane match could be more critical than the game itself.

It was certainly going to be a fierce showdown with neither side willing to back down an inch.

So, I wonder.

‘…What’s going on?’

Why am I feeling excited?

Is it normal to feel this way?

‘Who’s going to win…?’

Simply put, the higher-tier Platinum Mid friend should have a better chance of winning.

But Legends of League is a game full of variables, and above all, I was their jungle.

It wasn’t just about my skills; it was Challenger jungle against Dia jungle, so naturally, there would be a difference.

[“Please gank mid often.”]

“…Haha. Sure.”

Just a moment ago, they were talking about crushing the enemy and getting solo kills…

‘Well, that’s not a bad thing.’

Deceiving the opponent in a cold world of competition is just par for the course.

‘So then…’

Even though my tier is much lower, an internal battle is still definitely a team game.

As a result, games that typically occur between tiers tend to be significantly tougher.

Indeed, just looking at team ranked games, the Diamond players you meet in solo queue feel quite different from those in team matches.

[“Let’s all do our best.”]

[“Fighting!”]

[“Sister, what items should I build?”]

“…I’ll explain slowly.”

It seemed this was going to be a challenging game.

-Welcome to Summoner’s Rift!

The game officially began.

Even with the game starting, the ping hasn’t been overwhelmingly noticeable yet.

No, the bigger problem was…

“…Where’s our mid?”

[“Ah, I think he went to smoke.”]

“…”.

It dawned on me once again.

These players were here not just for a pride battle but, more importantly, to hang out together.

Therefore, being serious all by myself wouldn’t help at all.

‘I need to adapt too.’

Not a game to win, but a game purely for laughter and fun.

It had been so long since I’ve played a game just for that reason without some underlying issue.

“Let’s skip the invade and just head to our lanes.”

The reason for this conclusion was simple.

Aside from me, their average tier was higher than ours.

Naturally, they would want to invade to shut me down early, and if my teammates awkwardly attempted to defend against the invade, disaster was bound to strike from the start.

‘They’re probably going to come in through red.’

So, I placed a ward near my red and then backed off.

Just in case I needed to mess up their route.

[“Ah, sorry, sorry.”]

About 50 seconds after the game started, our Gold Mid returned, reeking of smoke.

[“Huh? Where are we starting?”]

“Let’s first assess the situation.”

Currently, I was near the mid turret.

Even if the start was slightly delayed, I wanted to see if the enemies would perform a late invade on our red.

Around 1 minute and 10 seconds in, four of the enemy appeared at our red jungle.

It was a late invade.

‘Three are fine, but Senna too…?’

They were likely trying to nullify any possible variables.

However, what the enemy didn’t predict was that I had already expected this.

‘I’m heading straight to their red.’

Their Senna was spotted returning by my ward.

Of course, there was a chance they would check the red while coming, but that wasn’t much of a concern.

‘One thing worrying me is… if the enemy Ezreal tries to push for a 2v1 in lane.’

Our bot had a marksman who had never played Legends of League and a Bronze supporter.

From the enemy Ezreal’s perspective, a 2v1 situation is entirely plausible, or he could even dominate alone.

[“Where do I go?”]

[“Follow me.”]

[“Who do you think you are?”]

[“I’m a cat.”]

[“How do I move? It’s not working with the arrow keys.”]

[“You use the mouse.”]

Given the situation, it was best not to expect much from a standard bottom lane.

‘In fact, there’s a high likelihood of giving the enemy a kill and feeding them.’

What I needed to do was leverage the peculiar traits of my teammates.

Besides, even if I helped our marksman farm, the chance of them doing their part was slim.

The lane phase officially began.

As expected, the enemy Rek’Sai started at my red while I started at their red.

It was a smooth exchange of jungles, but I couldn’t relax just yet.

‘Usually, the supporter wouldn’t leave bottom, but… Senna might be different.’

Of course, Senna was a peculiar growth-style supporter who needed to stick to the lane.

But that was under normal circumstances, and in this game, anything could happen.

After I finished my red, as I headed toward the Krugs…

“Enemy Senna at our Krugs.”

I reflexively called it out, but there wasn’t much hope for any solid action from our bot lane.

Even if they couldn’t join me, they should’ve applied pressure to the enemy Ezreal in a 2v1 situation, but they instead retreated even further out of fear of the lone Ezreal.

‘Well, I figured it would go this way.’

But there was no need to suddenly feel intimidated by the enemy’s level 1 supporter.

If they chose to poke, I could simply show them the fear of being killed.

As I hit the Krugs and slipped into the brush, I continued my jungling.

The enemy Senna had already used a ward somewhere, so they couldn’t do anything to me in the brush.

That meant they had to get closer to hit me.

‘Come at me if you dare.’

Even Senna hesitated to come this far; she hesitated and eventually went back to the lane.

If she truly meant to go, she could have called her mid for backup, but our mid was going all out in the lane, so that wasn’t going to happen.

‘At least I’m glad their mid has similar skill.’

With the jungle being the closest lane, I could finally breathe a sigh of relief.

‘The Gromp is… going to be tough.’

The Krugs were no problem, but once I moved to Gromp, there was a chance the enemy Ezreal could join in.

Considering my bot was providing no help, it was dangerous.

‘I can only retreat.’

Although I’d be one camp behind their jungler, there was no need to stress over that.

Being one camp behind meant I could still grab the next turn before them.

‘Of course, given Rek’Sai’s characteristics, she’s likely to gank right after level 3.’

And that target will naturally be the mid, which is crucial, or definitely a killable top.

“Yuri, can you pull back a bit when I give the signal?”

[“Um… got it. Uh, what should I do! Ah!”]

It seemed like it might have been a mistake to say something; the Malphite got reamed by Kamal.

While Malphite was indeed a decent pick against Kamal, he clearly was at a loss at first, making exchanges impossible.

“Just hold on a bit.”

Though I said that, considering I was at our blue, it would take a while to reach top.

‘And if I think about eating the Rift Herald, there’s almost no chance I could go up there.’

Just as I finished eating the blue…

[“Hey, sis!”]

From the top, I heard my sister’s scream.

Sure enough, enemy Rek’Sai appeared at the top, pressuring my trapped Malphite.

They were planning a dive with Kamal.

‘But… is that a good idea?’

Malphite’s health wasn’t great, but he had already generated a passive shield and, more importantly, had decent mana.

“Yuri, listen to me carefully. When they come in, use your W skill right away, then use your E immediately.”

[“Huh? Uh… okay…”]

The plan itself wasn’t bad, but seeing my sister’s state, it seemed the top would be chaotic.

I was just thinking that…

The enemy Kamal and Rek’Sai dove top.

However, due to poor lane management, there were almost no minions available.

-First blood!

-Our team has fallen!

As predicted, Malphite went down.

Even with a shaky plan, it was hard to expect our inexperienced sister, who was as green as it gets, to react in time.

However, that wasn’t the end of it.

-Enemy slain!

As Kamal moved out of turret range, he fell,

-Double kill!

And Rek’Sai followed suit.

[“Whoa, what the heck, Yuri!”]

[“Uh, did I do well?”]

[“Nice!”]

Due to overextending in a dive trying to kill the Malphite under turret, both the enemy Kamal and Rek’Sai fell.

Given the circumstances, I was speechless.

“……”

What on earth is happening in this game?
