[TS] Obsessed Gamer: The Ultimate Return – Chapter 366

I’m losing my mind.

When could I possibly use such an expression?

“Yujin, did you pack your passport?”

“Yep. It was the first thing I packed.”

“Did you also pack cash, your cards, and ID? And your medications, including anything you usually take?”

“I packed everything.”

“Oh, and since it can be tough on the plane, did you pack your neck pillow, eye mask, and earplugs? Oh, and you need a pen to fill out the customs declaration quickly.”

“……Uh-huh.”

I hoped she’d stop there, but my mother had no intention of slowing down.

“You should also take your laptop and tablet. You might get bored on the plane. Oh, do you want to bring a book? They say books are food for the soul.”

“……I’m good with books.”

“Come on. Stop staring at the monitor all day and read a bit.”

“Mom, I’m a professional gamer. When would I find the time for that?”

“Aren’t you on break right now? Then it wouldn’t hurt to read a few books. Maybe it would help your gaming too.”

“What kind of nonsense is that…?”

Of course, reading a bit wouldn’t hurt, but sadly, I didn’t really have a passion for it.

Even if I did, I’d mostly be looking up matchups and strategies for champions online.

“Oh, did you check on your cosmetics? Did you pack those too?”

“Cosmetics? I don’t wear makeup.”

I thought she might let that slide, but of course, she said something out of the ordinary.

“Oh my, but you’re going to be in the media, right? Why wouldn’t you wear makeup? Don’t worry, Mom will do it for you.”

“No…”

“You need to look pretty, Yujin. If you look shabby, people will think poorly of your parents.”

“Why would that reflect poorly on you…?”

I feel like I’m going to lose it…

Despite my desperate pleas, my mother kept shoving my cosmetics into my bag.

She kept mentioning current trends and how I needed to look good in the media…

Watching all of this unfold, I found myself muttering.

“……But I think I’m pretty enough without all this, right?”

At that, my mother blinked a few times as she looked at me.

“Did you have some awareness of that?”

“……Uh-huh.”

I mean, I look in the mirror every day.

“Thank goodness. I thought you still looked like a tomboy.”

“What’s that supposed to mean…?”

“If you’re pretty, you should know how to dress up. You wear dark colors every day.”

“It’s comfortable. Plus, that’s our team uniform.”

“Still, you should at least try to look cute. Got it?”

“……I’ll just be changing into the team uniform when I get there anyway.”

“At least until you leave!”

I’m not some celebrity flaunting airport fashion…

On top of that, my mom packed all sorts of things, including a hand fan that wasn’t suitable for the weather, sunglasses, a hat with a brim, a shower filter, and hand sanitizer.

“……Are you really going to use all this?”

“Not all of it. But you never know.”

Considering my mother usually traveled light, it seemed this whole load was meant solely for me.

Whether I should be happy or sad about that remains to be seen.

Despite having packed everything for me, she kept asking, which made it clear she was nervous.

“I packed everything. You did it all anyway.”

“That’s true… but I’m worried. What if something happens while we’re abroad?”

Sigh…

This trip, which should have been OLZ’s first international outing, had unexpectedly morphed into a family vacation.

Honestly… if the other team members saw this, how would they view me…?

‘My dignity as a jungler and team owner…’

No, thinking back, I don’t think I ever had that to begin with. I just need to take it easy.

“……Are you really coming with me, Mom?”

“Of course! Dad is busy, and Yoori isn’t coming, so it’s going to be some quality time together.”

“Uh… there are other team members too.”

“Oh, right. It’s fine. They’re Yujin’s friends, after all.”

Hmm… friends?

Considering my limited social circle, I doubt there’s anyone else I could actually call a friend besides my team.

‘There’s Rainbow, but…’

Even that is just a fellow online friend I don’t really know.

“Go ahead and head down. I’ll catch up with Mom since she still has things to grab. Secretary Kim is probably waiting too.”

“……Okay.”

I stepped out of the house, dragging two luggage bags behind me.

Not that I had no one to help; it’s just that Secretary Kim was already struggling with three bulky bags.

‘…Anyone would think I’m making a run for it.’

Not a runaway or anything, but somehow that thought crossed my mind.

“Oh! Miss, over here!”

“……Don’t call me ‘Miss.’”

“Oh, I’m sorry!”

I shot a glare at Secretary Kim, who always had “Miss” on her lips, before shifting my attention elsewhere.

There were two cars.

It made sense since they had to drive the team members to the dormitory as well.

“I’ll carry those for you.”

“Oh, thanks.”

I loaded all the luggage into the car trunk and slid into the back seat.

After a while, my mother joined me, dragging her bags along.

“Let’s go!”

“Yes, understood.”

And just like that, our journey began.

It was a bit of an uneasy trip.

*

Even in the car on the way to the dormitory, my mother wouldn’t stop talking.

“Oh, did you separate the things you’ll need on the plane? You won’t be able to find them later if you don’t.”

“I’ve got it all covered.”

“Really? I’m so worried…”

“…Can’t I just sleep on the plane if I somehow forget something? Why worry so much?”

“I worry because I care.”

…I should have taken another car.

We reached the dormitory quickly since it wasn’t too far from our house.

“Do you want me to go with you?”

“No, I’ll get it. Just go wait for me since I told you to get ready.”

“Got it.”

I was relieved that she wouldn’t follow me into the dormitory.

It wasn’t dirty or anything, thanks to regular cleanings by the staff, but it was definitely a mess in other ways.

‘Maybe I should’ve just told her to wait outside?’

Though, I had things to grab from my room, so I decided to head into the dormitory.

I couldn’t trust anyone else to get my things.

Inside the dorm, the team members were sitting on the sofa, each with a suitcase nearby.

“Hey, you made it?”

“Yeah. We’re leaving soon. The car will be waiting when we head down.”

“Okay.”

Baek Seong-an headed down, and Kim Jae-min, next to him, looked over at me.

“Oh, sis, is there a computer and stuff at the U.S. dorm?”

“Don’t worry. That’s all taken care of.”

“Oh, awesome!”

Well, it was my mother who prepped all that, but hey, good is good.

Kim Ji-hoon walked up to me.

“There’s a famous CrossFit club near the venue for the All-Star event. Can we check it out?”

“Feel free during your free time. You’d go even if I told you not to, right?”

“Understood.”

“Alright, then head down and wait for me. I’ll gather a few things and be there.”

“Sure.”

Kim Jae-min and Kim Ji-hoon followed him to the elevator, leaving me alone with Seo Yeon-woo.

“What are you doing? Aren’t you coming down?”

“…I was planning to go with you.”

“Oh, I see. Just give me a minute.”

“Yep.”

While waiting for Seo Yeon-woo, I headed to my room to grab my stuff.

I picked up my personal gear like my mouse and keyboard, plus a mouse pad and other random items.

‘This should be enough.’

I packed some extra gear, but these were the ones I used daily.

For a pro gamer, spare equipment is essential.

As I stepped out of the dorm with Seo Yeon-woo, we were met by a fully packed vehicle.

Secretary Kim in the driver’s seat, and in the passenger seat sat Baek Seong-an, with Kim Jae-min and Kim Ji-hoon in the back.

Given Kim Ji-hoon’s size, even with only two people in the back seat, it felt cramped.

“…Is Ji-hoon riding up front?”

“Ah, your mom said for you and Yeon-woo to ride in that car over there.”

“What?”

I turned to see my mom leaning out the window of the front car, signaling for us to come.

She silently told us to get in.

…No wonder it felt cramped for the number of people…

“Ugh…”

It looked like Yeon-woo and I would have to fit into the same car after all.

Yeah, the very car my mother was in.

‘…This feels anxious.’

I walked toward my mother’s car with a strange feeling of unease, along with Seo Yeon-woo.
