Your Commander-in-Chief – Chapter 12

The Deron gallery started to catch fire. It was because posts about a party leader, known more for the nickname ‘Jammini’ than for his real name, began to flood in at an alarming rate.

[Jammini Party Leader Took Down a Noob LOL] [22]

Everyone was a bit skeptical. Right after a conversation transcript between SingSing and that party leader was revealed last night, they publicly scheduled a duel.

And everyone thought the party leader wouldn’t show up. It was a battle with nothing to gain but everything to lose. It was a reasonable assumption.

But he showed up. Alone and directly accepted the duel.

And he took down the Paladin from the SingSing guild.

A Paladin with roach-like life force. A battle between such Paladins was expected to be a long one.

But it was different. It was fast and precise. The small girl’s sword shattered the Paladin’s head.

As the event progressed, interest exploded even more. With many gallery users on-site, numerous screenshots began to surface.

Cute customization, arrogant remarks, and skills to back up that arrogance.

The fire was unmistakable. The title of Jammini Party Leader changed to Military Middle School Girl Party Leader after Yeo declared her military discharge.

[Live Military Middle School Girl’s Second Duel…] [7]

The second duel began. Everyone was thinking, it was okay to lose now. The momentum had shifted.

Everyone knew that if the party leader, who has the concept of being a middle school girl, lost, it wouldn’t bother him at all.

The party leader had become famous. His recruitment for the party would wrap up super quickly.

But.

He won the second duel as well.

It was an overwhelming speed, just like before. The opinion that the first win was just lucky began to fade.

Without a break, the third duel commenced. Everyone expected defeat. Naturally, since the opponent was a PvP-ranked player.

However, once again, something unexpected happened.

[Was that a reaction to the Wizard’s Blink?]

ㄴ[Looks like it, if you look closely the wizard’s gaze follows her eye movements]

ㄴ[Is that even possible?]

ㄴ[I can do that too]

[Isn’t this a pro alternate character?]

ㄴ[For real, they might be pro]

ㄴ[Is she really going to do a raid?]

ㄴ[Still, that might be tough, right?]

ㄴ[If I were an Orc Warrior, I’d die for the Middle School Girl]

After the events, the Middle School Girl Party Leader slipped away. But the gallery was still buzzing.

Multiple posts analyzing the uploaded videos and discussing the Middle School Girl’s customization flooded the concept posts.

Moreover, users interested in raids began to entertain one possibility.

– Is a real raid possible?

The party leader’s skills had been proven. They had overwhelmed a 25th-ranked wizard with sheer skill.

Though only their skill in PvP was validated, their PvE prowess likely wouldn’t be very different.

Most of the users currently in the top raids had also made names for themselves in PvP.

Party recruitment requests began to surge.

*

After carefully reviewing the applicants, they could fill a 40-man raid party.

Of course, since they hadn’t even done a first try, the numbers were subject to change.

After setting up a chat room for the raid, they split the 30 wizards into 3 groups.

Then, they selected experienced wizards to lead each group.

It was a 40-man raid party. The party leader couldn’t manage all the participants alone, so this method was chosen.

The healer group also consisted of 7 members, and one priest was chosen as the lead.

And the two remaining tanks. They would be cared for directly by me.

The tanks played a significant role in the raid. It was easier to manage a smaller number of them more closely.

By segmenting the roles like this, the number of people I had to manage directly would be greatly reduced.

This way, I could focus entirely on the raid.

I picked up my phone and started typing a message in the chat room. Although messages were already flowing briskly without me, the party leader needed to speak with charisma.

– Party Leader [Everyone, please familiarize yourselves with the strategy video. Don’t be late by 5:10 PM.]

– Wizard Group 1 Leader [Hawawa, Party Leader, are you logging in after school?]

– Priest Leader [Party Leader, do you really go to school?]

– Party Leader [Yes, I do go to school. I’ll log in right when I get home, so don’t be late.]

– Wizard Group 2 Leader [LOL School LOL]

Is it really that funny that I go to school?

I sighed while rubbing my forehead.

It was 3 PM. That meant there were still classes left.

“Hayan.”

“Oh, Sohee.”

“What are you looking at so intently?”

“Oh, just my acquaintances…”

“I see.”

Sohee nodded at my answer and placed a small candy on the desk.

It was a Soft & Chewy Cow.

Sohee sometimes distributed these lovely candies to her friends.

After school, I ran home without looking back. Thanks to running so hard, I could arrive home before 5 PM.

I logged right into the game. Mom would be coming home late again today, so there was no one to greet at home.

That Harang guy would be stuck in a capsule like me.

As soon as I logged in, a flood of messages popped up.

From guild invites to friend requests. I declined them all.

I cleaned up my friend list, excluding the raid members.

4:55 PM. There was still some time before the appointment.

I quickly turned on the auction house and bought enough potions and buffs. Not just for myself, but for others as well.

I had to make sure. There would definitely be people who didn’t prepare enough buff items.

There must be. Even the most meticulous person makes mistakes. As a party leader, I needed to be generous about this.

A party of 40. At least one person per day would likely make such a mistake.

With a lot of casual users around, buff items and potions were priced low.

The appointment time was approaching. I immediately headed to the meeting place.

The meeting place was at the [Red Orc Empire], the farthest spot from Lunaris Capital City.

Tall ramparts, red spires, and ominous objects scattered everywhere made the place dizzying.

There were no monsters. The entrance to the raid dungeon was a safe zone.

“Party Leader has arrived!”

By the meeting spot, many people were already there.

Seeing them arrive early to prepare brought a smile to my face as a party leader.

I waved to greet them, then sat on a large rock nearby.

As time passed, weak expectations flowed in the eyes of those gathered here.

It was the party leader’s role to turn that expectation into confidence.

As I was checking the tactics, the appointment time drew near.

I stood up and spoke.

“Each class, please check in.”

“Wizards Group 1, 10 members.”

“Wizards Group 2, 10 members.”

“Wizards Group 3, 9 members.”

“Where’s one member?”

“Someone said they’d be 2 minutes late due to some work.”

2 minutes. An acceptable time.

I nodded. Since it was the first day, a little leniency was needed.

“All 7 priests are present~”

I nodded and looked around me.

How had they gotten so close? Two knights clad in massive armor stood beside me.

“Total members 39… one is late… Once everyone arrives, I’ll give a detailed explanation.”

No sooner had I finished my statement than a wizard began using Blink, approaching from the distance.

“Looks like the last member has arrived.”

And so the 40-man raid party had gathered.

“I believe everyone has familiarized themselves with the strategy. If there are any questions, please ask your class leaders. I will handle the item loot myself. We’re not looking for a time attack, so after taking down the named monsters, I plan to auction the drop items for gold.”

“What will the starting bid be?”

“Starting at 100 gold. All items are the same. If you have complaints, please speak up.”

There wouldn’t be any complaints.

Whether it goes for gold or point-based, for the numerous members in larger classes, it would be a bloody competition.

However, no one would dare speak out right now. I nodded and continued.

“One loot token for each named boss to each player. You all know you can exchange 5 tokens for raid gear at the capital.”

There’s a personal loot system. Even if you don’t obtain an item, as long as you defeat all the named bosses, you can earn a piece of raid gear each week.

But only the last boss drops weapons and weapon-specific tokens.

In other words, no matter how diligently you run the raid party, if you can’t defeat the last boss, you can’t obtain the raid-exclusive weapon.

“Party Leader.”

“Yes, go ahead.”

“Can we beat the final boss?”

A brief silence followed.

The one who posed the question was a wizard user already decked out in several pieces of raid gear.

I nodded. It was possible. As soon as I saw the video, I knew.

If I were there, I would be able to defeat the last boss.

“We’re entering the dungeon. Everyone, confirm your buffs.”

As soon as I finished speaking, everyone began using their buff items.

I poured several potion buffs into my mouth as well.

[40-Man Raid: Red Orc Empire]

Would you like to enter?

Entering binds your ID to that dungeon.

YES/NO

There was no need for hesitation. The moment I slightly tapped YES floating in the air, I kicked the ground and jumped up.

It was a natural action. I repeated this even when playing with a keyboard and mouse.

For entry, jumping was conceptual.

Thud

Upon entering the dungeon and turning around, I could hear nothing but silence apart from my own landing sound.

All party members were watching me with wide eyes.

“Looks like the party leader is excited.”

“He jumped in.”

“She’s definitely a middle school girl.”

W-Wait, is that culture not common here?

I touched my blazing cheeks and turned away.
