High expectations often lead to great disappointment. While not every expansion can be a hit, players of Deron were unanimous in their opinion that this was just too much.
Naturally, the community sites related to Deron were overflowing with complaints and dissatisfaction.
The largest Deron Online gallery in South Korea was no exception.

Most of the posts had a strong aggressive tone.
The community usually had a lot of aggressive posts, but this time it was on another level.
While some users were bashing those who actually enjoyed the game, others were quitting altogether, even deleting accounts that had achieved numerous accomplishments.
[Account deletion proof, yeah]
(Deron’s account deletion proof screenshot)
I quit this terrible game. Just one patch and all users turned back into newbies.
Skills? Even if I want to use them, I can’t. Adventurers who used to hunt gods and dragons are now picking apples in a farm.
I couldn’t even kill a single wolf in the place I first encountered.
This undermines everything the players have built.
I acknowledge that the value of items doesn’t hold; it’s always been like that.
I can just switch to the next item. But this… it’s a different story.
So I have to toss a fireball and then sit back and relax?
I’d rather not.

[Helena << Has anyone traded gold with her?] [13]
Why does she come to buy gold every time I sell it?
What’s up with her? Is she a merchant? A dealer?
I even searched overseas sites, and I found posts questioning her identity. Seems like Yankees buy gold from her.

While clearing the main quest and making progress, one problem arose.
It was the time difference issue.
“I’m sorry. This is where I have to go.”
“Ah. Arthur…”
There is a 9-hour time difference between the UK and Korea. If it’s late evening here, it means it’s morning over there.
Arthur had to log off due to his real-life status.
“I had fun today. Don’t worry about waiting for me to progress. Go ahead without me.”
I looked at Arthur with a hint of disappointment. While it wasn’t a long time, the hunting we did together became an unforgettable memory.
“Goodbye, Arthur.”
Initially wary of Arthur, Helena now waved with a friendly expression.
A warm smile graced her face.
It seemed she had grown closer to him while completing quests together.
“Mhmm… Okay. See you next time, Helena.”
With a bright light, the blonde paladin disappeared.
I stood there, staring at the spot where he had been, mumbling to myself.
It’s unfortunate to part ways because of the time difference, but it reminded me that the servers had indeed merged.
“Is Helena alright?”
“Me?”
“Yeah. Usually at this hour, you’d be going to sleep, right?”
I checked the time and asked Helena.
It was nearing 1 AM. Considering her average playtime, it was rare for her to stay awake this late.
“I’m fine today.”
“Really?”
“Yeah. So let’s hurry and continue.”
If Helena went to bed, I intended to do the same. But she didn’t log off.
It actually worked out. I should take this opportunity to grow my Ether as much as possible.
Given that our playtimes differed, I couldn’t wait for her every single day.
I needed to level up Helena enough so that she could handle quests by herself even when I wasn’t around.
Just because Arthur left didn’t mean our questing speed would slow down.
With my Ether enhanced, I was able to use new skills.
Naturally, hunting speed increased as well.
Helena and I continued hunting. The newly encountered monsters were certainly familiar faces.
Dire Wolves, Horned Rabbits, Goblins, and so on. I began herding the monsters, recalling my old hunting methods.
“Ha…”
Helena, donning her red robe, pointed her staff forward.
In that instant, four magical formations appeared around her, and scorching flames burst forth from within them.
Kwahhh-!
Helena cast her most powerful skill four times, which she could utilize at this point.
Just because my Ether had increased didn’t mean the weapon’s stats didn’t apply.
The world-level staff obtained from defeating the Kraken had proved its might even through two expansion seasons.
“Keeek!”
It was rewarding to see the monsters I had gathered get wiped out.
I approached the pile of monster corpses Helena had cleared with a proud smile.
As I sifted through the jumble of drop items, I suddenly noticed a small message pop up—a new guide quest had appeared.
※Guide Quest
[New power dwells in the equipment.]
Find the Blacksmith at Solaris Castle with a Weak Transcendence Stone.
“What’s this…”
I inspected the small stone in my hand.
It sparkled beautifully, and after picking it up, a new quest emerged.
“Helena, did you get a quest too?”
“Yeah.”
I frowned as I checked the stone’s details.
[Weak Transcendence Stone]
A gem that allows Ether energy to be infused into equipment.
It seemed Deron was preparing to showcase various attempts with this new expansion.
I joined hands with Helena, and we started towards the Capital City.
At the Capital City, many players had already gathered in front of the blacksmith.
All of them were eagerly scanning the surroundings, shouting for anyone passing by.
“Transcendence Stones! Anyone got Transcendence Stones!”
“I’ll buy all Transcendence Stones! I’m buying at the highest price!”
I frowned at the scene.
Looks like I’d have to switch channels.
Helena and I found a channel with relatively fewer people and moved.
After a brief flash, we walked together toward the blacksmith.
Bang-! Bang-! Bang-!
Once inside the blacksmith, we felt a hot wave of heat.
The breeze was a burning hot gust.
“Excuse me, sir.”
“Uh-huh?”
“We came looking for the Transcendence Stone.”
“Ah, I see. One moment please.”
The NPC blacksmith rose from his seat casually.
At that moment, a neat system window appeared before me.
[Equipment Transcendence]
[Empty Slot]
[Empty Slot]
“Select the equipment you want to infuse with Ether energy and place it there.”
“Can I use anything?”
“Sure, even the gear you’re currently wearing is fine.”
“What if it breaks or something during the process?”
“Transcendence never fails. Don’t worry.”
The bearded blacksmith’s words felt a bit dubious.
But I had no reason not to trust him. Seeing it was marked as a guide quest implies there wouldn’t be any failures.
I pulled out the Demon Sword I always kept tucked away in my inventory and placed it on the slot.
In that instant, a detailed description about Transcendence popped up before my eyes.
[What is Equipment Transcendence?]
This allows you to infuse Ether energy into equipment, transforming it into Ether Equipment.
The name and appearance of the item will remain the same after transforming into Ether Equipment, but its stats will be reset based on Level 85.
Equipment that undergoes the Transcendence system can gain additional stats based on the amount of Ether acquired.
※If the equipment has any bonus options or additional skills, they will reset entirely.
“Oh…”
I quickly understood. This was an equipment crafting system.
Infusing desired equipment with Ether levels, allowing for extra stats depending on the level.
It revived items rendered useless by past seasons while resetting the item’s unique options for balance.
Creating one’s own weapon and nurturing it further was a great concept.
Not bad at all.
[Would you like to transcend the equipment?]
Without hesitation, I pressed the button.
In an instant, a brilliant light poured from the Demon Sword that had been placed in the slot, and the Weak Transcendence Stone I had put below it vanished.
