Living Blood began to demand a quest item from me.
To be precise, it was a hidden quest.
[Absorption of Vampire Blood]
As per Dr. Haven’s instructions, I had to collect the scattered blood of vampires across Deron and absorb it into the existing blood.
A separate purification process was necessary.
Human 0/1
Beast 0/1
Demon 0/1
Dragon 0/1
Fairy 0/1
Elf 0/1
“Hmm…”
I let out a groan while looking at the list of requirements for the quest.
Although I had explored all the new expansion areas, I had never encountered a demon monster transformed into a vampire even once.
If it was a dragon, I would know where to find one.
The Hellfire Dragon Bahamut.
That creature was indeed the dragon transformed into a vampire.
I thought there was no way they would make me acquire the item for the hidden quest from a raid dungeon.
I sighed in relief.
If I had started this quest later, I might have wasted a week unable to procure the vampire dragon’s blood.
Shaking my head, I set off to the hunting ground.
I would at least give it a try.
It was okay if the quest got stuck midway; after all, I had fun while progressing through it.
To enjoy the game longer, immersion was necessary.
I slowly exhaled and began to dive into my character.
The youngest genius grand mage, Princess Yeo, was attempting to cultivate suspicious blood as per the Adventurers’ Guild request.
Alright. I nodded and fleshed out this concept.
“Hmm…”
Upon reaching the hunting ground, I crouched down and fiddled with the ground.
The damp, sticky soil.
The faint smell also carried the scent of blood.
Not just human blood, but that of other life forms was mixed into this dirt around here.
I had come to the right place.
[Krreeek…]
A faint whimpering sound echoed from beyond the dark forest, teasing my ears.
It was clearly the cry of a vampire.
Slowly getting up, I took out my staff.
I envisioned the battle that lay ahead. The monsters set to appear were elves transformed into vampires.
These vampire elves were tainting the forest with contaminated blood, staining the entire forest in shades of death, contrary to their nickname as the neighbors of the woods.
Beyond the dark underbrush, the vampire elves stood.
Gone were their once bright blue eyes. In their place were the bloodshot eyes of mindless fiends.
Not the cunning gaze of the Demon Clan; only base instincts remained, reflecting the hideous eyes of a monster satisfying its hunger.
Fwoosh!
The mana around me swirled in response to my emotions, igniting a massive fireball.
As the fierce flames lit up the surroundings, the view beyond the forest became clear.
The ground was littered with the corpses of animals, and the elves crouched nearby.
Their once resplendent hair was now matted with blood and dirt, making them appear filthy.
That couldn’t be elves.
Taking a deep breath, I opened my mouth.
“O Shadow of the Demon King… that parts the heavens…”
Kwaaaa!
The casting of mighty magic began to affect the environment around me.
A strong wind rushed through, causing my robe to flutter dramatically and shaking my pointed hat.
But the incantation did not falter.
“O flames of hell that consume even the souls of the gods…”
[Kyieeek!]
It happened then.
Sensing the enormous mana at work, the vampire elves began to charge toward me.
But that was fine.
The magic was already at completion.
“Show yourselves now. Hellfire!!!”
[Elemental Flame]
Fwoosh!
From the massive magical formation emerging in the air, scorching hellfire began to rain down.
The great flames engulfed the forest behind the vampire elves.
[Kieeeek!]
Ignited by the hellfire, the elves began to scream and slowly succumb.
It was a sight quite satisfying.
I grinned arrogantly and ran my fingers through my hair.
Long, flowing black hair cascaded back, unveiling the small horns adorning my bangs.
Then it happened.
The underbrush rustled, and someone emerged.
“You are…”
“Ah… Sorry… Were you hunting?”
Breaking through the bushes was an ordinary player.
I hesitated for a moment upon seeing him.
Should I maintain my character or revert to my usual self to engage in casual conversation?
Of course, the dilemma didn’t last long.
After all, I was the youngest grand mage, a cute girl.
“Who are you…”
I frowned at his outfit.
Two long daggers hung from his waist.
It was obvious to anyone that he was a thief.
Children of darkness, rummaging through the pockets of passersby to scrape by.
Princess Yeo, boasting noble blood, despised thieves like this.
I wouldn’t even exchange words.
“Step aside, thief.”
“Uh…?”
“It’s obstructive. If you don’t want to die, step aside.”
“Ah… Y-yes… What a crazy girl…”
The thief muttered sardonically, turning to walk away.
I wanted to punish him for his audacity to mutter such things before me, but I somehow managed to hold back.
Princess Yeo had to endure the rudeness of the ignorant with a magnanimous heart.
I turned my head away and exhaled.
After all, they were ignorant, unlearned souls. Perhaps it was only natural they wouldn’t recognize the greatness of a wizard.
I crossed my arms and nodded.
Even having cast a massive area spell, I hadn’t been able to collect the blood of the elves I wanted.
It wasn’t due to incinerating them without a trace; rather, the drop rate for that quest item was significantly low.
It seemed I would need to stick around here for today.
I spread my arms wide and walked forward.
Tap- Tap- Tap-
The trailing robe dragging on the ground was quite bothersome.
*
The day after the raid was called off, evening.
Finally, the promised time approached.
I had given the party members ample time.
Exactly a day’s time should have been enough for those who changed their jobs to get familiar with their new roles.
At least, that’s what I thought.
[Absorption of Vampire Blood]
As per Dr. Haven’s instructions, collecting the scattered blood of vampires across Deron had to be done to absorb it into the existing blood.
A separate purification process was necessary.
Human 1/1
Beast 1/1
Demon 0/1
Dragon 0/1
Fairy 1/1
Elf 1/1
Even with the raid time approaching, the hidden quest progressed uninterrupted.
As a result, I managed to collect quite a bit of vampire blood and feed it to the Living Blood.
“What a cute mage you are, huh?”
Just then, a cheerful voice approached me; it was the Snow Mage.
Perhaps feeling a sense of familiarity from my class, she wore an even brighter smile than usual.
“Go back to your spot and wait. We need to count heads.”
“Yes!”
The Snow Mage responded energetically and returned to her place.
I turned to check on the other party members.
Those who changed their roles.
They were originally party members who should have been tankers or healers.
They were scanning the room with slightly anxious expressions.
Their demeanor was stiff and unnatural.
It seemed they were quite burdened participating in the raid as dealers today.
But don’t worry. If they can perform decently, if they can average out, we could smoothly get past the second named monster.
Of course, I had no intention of merely passing by.
“Everyone feeling comfortable?”
“I can’t say I’m completely comfortable… But I’ve researched and practiced as much as I could.”
“No need to be nervous. If damage is lacking, I’ll cover for you.”
“The party leader will do that…?”
I replied with a confident smile and thumped my chest.
Not the most trustworthy sight for a tank.
That much was obvious; I was just a small cute mage girl.
Seeing me, those who had been tense seemed to loosen up, letting out chuckles.
That was enough for me.
Satisfied, I nodded and shifted my gaze.
I spotted the Hwarang, who was hiding among the party members.
He was pretending not to care, but he was probably thinking about facing me as well.
Nobody in this world knew him better than I did.
I would never lose.
I glared at the Hwarang and spoke.
“Then let’s get moving, everyone!”
It felt odd leading the first party as a mage.
But I put on a brave facade and strode confidently toward the dungeon entrance.
Then it happened.
I heard the Snow Mage’s horrified voice behind me.
“Ahhh-!”
Turning my head, I saw the Snow Mage staring at me with a pale face.
I let out a slight sigh.
The Snow Mage must have been curious about what kind of panties I wore when jumping into the dungeon.
But what could I do? The robe I wore didn’t meet her expectations.
“Yeo.”
“Yeah?”
The one who spoke was Helena.
She appeared to be pleased with something as she smiled.
“Are you not thinking of wearing such clothes on your main character?”
“These clothes?”
I looked down at what I was wearing at Helena’s words.
It was the typical robe worn by mages. It wouldn’t suit my main character, who was a warrior.
It would definitely hinder my movements.
“I don’t want to. It’s uncomfortable to move in.”
In fact, it was already bothersome.
The slightly oversized robe’s sleeves kept swallowing my hands, which was quite irritating.
I flapped my arms to free them.
As I chatted with Helena, I arrived without any hindrances in front of the Hellfire Dragon Bahamut.
Bahamut lay coiled up inside a huge chamber.
“Let’s get started right away! Dogrik, you start!”
The battle always began with the main tank’s lead, just like my cue.
Back in his role as the main tank, Dogrik wore a slightly tense expression as he moved forward.
[Kwaaaark!]
The Hellfire Dragon Bahamut roared as the battle commenced.
I immediately spread my hands and began casting various spells.
“Hiyaaaah!”
“Yeo…”
I ignored Helena’s protests.
I knew it too.
A battle cry wasn’t necessary during the casting of magic skills.
I didn’t need a reminder to know that.
I just… wanted to do it.
“Take this!”
Whoosh!
At the moment I shouted, a massive fireball emerged from the tip of my staff and shot swiftly toward Bahamut.
Of course, a battle cry wasn’t needed even after my spell was completed.
Helena used the same skill simultaneously as well.
There was no other option.
All of my spells had been learned from her, after all.
We cast the same spell at the same time.
