Deron has started the update.
At the same time, faint memories began to resurface.
Around this time, Deron slowly started preparing for a new expansion.
To enhance the overall specs of the users, new dungeons were added, and unused items were discontinued.
For those raiding, the new dungeons weren’t a major concern.
Of course, if you wanted to acquire the unique equipment appearances obtainable only there, you’d have to run the dungeons, but I was focused on the event that had just begun.
I moved my mouse to check the items available for purchase at the event shop.
From avatar items that enhance appearances to recovery potions that restore health and mana by a percentage, there were many items, but one item stood out for its overwhelming performance.
[Divine Blessing of the Sun]
– Grants a buff [Divine Blessing of the Sun] lasting for 1 minute upon use.
– Damage received decreased by 30%.
– All stats increased by 30%.
This item was commonly referred to as “Taechuk.”
With a simple description and overwhelming buff ability, it was one of Deron’s design missteps.
Eventually, better buff items would emerge over several expansions, but for now, Taechuk was crowned as the king of buff items.
If you’re targeting the upcoming Raid’s Purkle, Taechuk is not a choice but a necessity.
I needed to gather as many as I could while I had the chance.

On the day the Deron update was completed, all users began rushing toward the new area.
I watched their figures from behind.
Going now would hinder smooth progress on the main quest.
As long as no fights broke out, it would be a relief.
With so many people flocking there, it would create a situation where the number of people exceeds the monsters that respawn on the map.
What I needed to do now was gather as many Sun Fragments as possible to buy Taechuk.
It would soon become common knowledge, but the monsters that spawn in the dungeon also drop event items.
That means, rather than wandering the hunting grounds, if I repeatedly entered and exited a dungeon where monsters poured out, I could gather a huge number of event items in a short period.
Those who are quick to catch on probably thought of that method right away.
I chose the dungeon with the most monsters and began my task.
Upon entering the dungeon, I ran straight to the boss. Right after that, I wiped out the elite monsters that respawned and followed me, then exited.
Since defeating the boss would take a long time, I ignored it.
The entry level for the dungeon I was doing was level 15, so no matter how many elite monsters poured out, I wouldn’t die.
Every time I swung my beautifully glowing sword, dozens of monsters were swept away.
After repeating this for a while, when my inventory was filled with event items, Hwarang sent an urgent message.
Hwarang – [Hey. Hey… I think you should come…]
Yeo – [Why?]
Hwarang – [Our guildie got into a quarrel with the people from Singsing in the new area.]
Yeo – [Can’t you handle it?]
Hwarang – [It’s tough… I don’t think we can even get out of the village.]
I sighed and wiped my face.
I had a feeling something like this would happen, but I couldn’t believe it was actually happening.
Seeing the guild chat I had pushed to the side buzzing with activity, it seemed serious.
By the way, Singsing… what a troublesome guild.
I hurried back to the capital city and bought Taechuk with the event items I had gathered.
Immediately after that, I used the warp that led to the new area.
Beyond my now whitened field of vision, a pure white world unfolded.
Cold snow fell from the sky, and a fierce wind brushed against my skin.
In that moment, I recalled a forgotten fact.
I hadn’t bought any fur coat to counter the Bitter Cold debuff.
But in the next instant, contrary to my worries, the cold debuff vanished.
[The Blessing of the Sun dispels the Bitter Cold.]
It seems that the hidden option attached to the Sun Fragment Ring was also applied to the Holy Sword.
I hurriedly ran toward the largest village.
The sensation of snow burying my feet was absurdly realistic.
The moment I arrived at the village entrance, I encountered an utterly ridiculous scene.
A huge number of people, all wearing the same guild mark, surrounded the village entrance.
Their nicknames were also troubling.
Seeing them painted red, indicating they had engaged in forced PK made me chuckle.
[Singsing]
They weren’t bothering other people.
Only our guild members were being pressured at the entrance, preventing them from coming out.
Harsh words were exchanged across the small entrance of the village.
Those not involved in this situation either watched from the side or went off to proceed with their own quests.
In that instant, a brief flash of light occurred inside the village, and the Singsing guild members respawned en masse.
It was not from using the warp but from the unique resurrection effect.
Yeo – [I’m in Sakazan now, where are you?]
Hwarang – [Sniping from outside.]
I looked around following Hwarang’s words but couldn’t find him.
Sighing, I drew my sword.
The sword began to spin lightly around my wrist, scattering brilliant rays of sunlight.
I immediately typed a message in the guild chat.
Yeo – [I’ll open the entrance, so everyone follow out.]
It wouldn’t be possible to face off against over a hundred people alone.
Even using Taechuk, fighting them solo would be tough.
However, inside the village, the [Soft & Chewy Cow] guild members had already taken their position.
If I opened the entrance and they burst out, we might stand a chance.
Who started it didn’t matter at this point.
I immediately began to use the Divine Blessing of the Sun, loading my body with as many buffs as possible.
[Divine Blessing of the Sun]
[Battle Frenzy]
[Holy Blessing]
[Proclamation of the Sun God’s Sanctuary]
Instantly, all my stats skyrocketed.
On a purely numerical basis, this was stat completion that exceeded the next expansion and even next Raids’ gear specs.
Just a slight movement caused the sword’s trajectory to whip around rapidly.
As the dazzling effects began to envelop my body, the Singsing members around me started to look my way.
In that instant, a faint flash of light shot from far away, and the head of a Singsing mage standing near the entrance exploded.
It was Hwarang’s shot.
The moment I focused my mind, time seemed to slow.
Snow falling from the sky slowly decelerated, and then froze in mid-air.
In preparation for using Charge, a blue mana burst forth from my poised body.
Boom!
Time began to flow again, and the snow dust piled beneath my feet burst in all directions.
The white flurry spreading behind me rose high into the sky.
Charging straight ahead, I pushed the massive Knight blocking the entrance out of the way.
The shockwave from my Charge exploded outwards, scattering snow everywhere.
Once again, time slowed. Within that moment, I began to move freely.
Through my blurred vision, I swiftly slashed, decapitating five enemies.
Before their heads could even float above me, I spun around and swung my sword again.
The elongated ray of sunlight lanced through the air in an instant.
In a single Charge, I had taken down ten enemies.
In that moment, another faint flash followed.
A massive arrow from a longbow, shot from far away, pierced through the hearts and heads of the spell-casting mages.
At that moment, the entrance of the village burst open, and the [Soft & Chewy Cow] guild members emerged en masse.
Each one of them was an elite. I had personally scouted them, so I knew their skill level was solid.
It was just a matter of numbers.
As I cleared the entrance, they spread their wings.
Even though they were outnumbered more than two to one, Singsing was swiftly wiped out.
I swung my sword, stabbing the last remaining Singsing member in the chest.
His struggling figure on the ground was utterly comical.
I took a breath and surveyed the situation.
Our guild members were all riled up, while the Singsing side appeared deflated, looking pitiful.
I opened my inventory and distributed [Divine Blessing of the Sun] to my guild members.
“Take one before fighting.”
This was the most crucial moment.
Singsing was a large guild with many members.
Their usual bullying and bravado stemmed from the numbers and specs of their top users.
Just as our guild called for me, they too would likely summon their top-tier players.
We couldn’t falter. We had to solidify this moment and maintain our position.
If we could withstand even when the top-tier users arrived, Singsing would retreat.
At that moment, just as I expected, Singsing’s guild mark came into view from a distance.
Around 30 new members were joining.
Given the gear they wore, there were several clad in raid equipment.
I steadied my breath and raised my sword.
And then, it happened.
Ping-!
A very faint sound was heard, followed by a white flash slicing through the air.
That flash began to explode the heads of the approaching Singsing members at the entrance.
Puck-! Puck-! Puck-!
Fast. The quickfire continued, changing direction with each shot.
Hwarang had started sniping from a distance, adjusting his position so as not to be tracked.
Expressions of confusion rose on the faces of those Singsing members trying to approach us.
They were not to be allowed to join. I told my guild members.
“Keep guarding the entrance. If they try to come out, drink your Taechuk and fight. We should be able to hold them off.”
I lifted my sword. After a brief standoff, the cooldown of Battle Frenzy had already recovered.
I immediately activated Battle Frenzy and threw back in the Taechuk.
[Battle Frenzy]
[Divine Blessing of the Sun]
With the reused buffs, my vision began to tint red.
In that moment, a small body shot through the wind.
