Your Commander-in-Chief – Chapter 281

“Ugh…”

The heavy weight pressing down on my belly.

As I opened my eyes, feeling a soft, squishy sensation right next to my face, I sat up.

Turning my head to the side, I saw Sohee sprawled out, hugging my body with her arms and legs.

It seems I had mumbled in my sleep.

I had been snuggled up like a plush toy in Sohee’s embrace for who knows how many hours.

The sky outside the terrace had already turned dark.

I carefully slipped out of Sohee’s hold.

Seeing her still deep in sleep without stirring even as I moved her arms and legs away, I realized she was in a deep slumber.

Looking down at Sohee’s face, her eyes shut, a smile unconsciously crept onto my face.

“Uh-oh…”

I jumped off the bed, heading for the table next to me.

I needed to grab my phone.

Reaching out to check the screen, I found a message from Ellie.

Ellie – [Taking a nap at this early hour…?]

Ellie – [Hayun. Have you already fallen asleep? Or perhaps…]

Ellie – [Hayun. I’ll be going out for a bit with Seongsin. I plan to bring back a souvenir, so you ought to look forward to it.]

Nodding as I read through the messages, it seemed Ellie and Seongsin had gone out to alleviate the boredom of waiting.

“Ugh…!”

I stretched while standing there, arms and legs reaching out.

This motion, filled with the determination to grow taller like Harang, had been ongoing for years, but my height remained at the same level as before.

What on earth is the problem? I drink milk every day, after all.

I moved my arms around, nudging my body.

The light fatigue I once felt had completely disappeared.

The effect of the scented candle Sohee lit was definitely impressive.

“Hayun?”

The charming voice of Sohee came at just the right moment.

Her voice, deep as if she were still half-asleep, sounded quite attractive.

“I’m right here.”

Sohee, all groggy, looked around before finally spotting me and giving a faint smile.

Seeing that smile on her face made me think she must’ve really enjoyed her deep sleep.

I smiled back in response to her grin.

“Did you sleep well?”

“Yeah…”

“It seems Ellie and Seongsin went out for a bit.”

It looked like they were still outside since I couldn’t see any incoming messages from them.

That’s just fine. It would be better to go out and play with Ellie and Seongsin than to sleep all day.

I ran over to Sohee and took her hand.

“Let’s go out too.”

“We…?”

Sohee still seemed a bit drowsy.

Staring blankly at me, she suddenly stretched out her hand and effortlessly lifted me up.

Her hands wedged under my armpits.

With my legs dangling downward.

I stared at Sohee in that awkward position.

A small sigh escaped my lips.

Even if I liked this, I would prefer if she didn’t lift me up like that all of a sudden.

If it had been someone else, they definitely would have been startled and struggled.

“Can’t I just sleep more?”

“Are you trying to sleep again? How could you sleep later? Stop sleeping.”

I shook my head in response to Sohee’s whining.

I hoped she’d let me down soon.

With those thoughts, I swayed my legs lightly, and Sohee smiled and finally set me down.

As expected, she’s quick to catch on.

“Got it. But where are we going?”

“That’s something we need to figure out now.”

Saying that, I called Ellie.

A short waiting beep followed.

About 20 seconds passed, maybe?

Then, I heard Ellie’s voice over the phone.

[Hayun…?]

“Yeah, it’s me.”

[You seem to be fine… Is your body okay?]

Is my body okay?

I tilted my head slightly at Ellie’s question as I responded.

“Yeah. I’m not hurt… Where are you now?”

[Oh, I was just about to go in. Is there anything you want to eat?]

“Something I want to eat?”

[Like snacks or something.]

Snacks?

I turned my gaze from the phone to Sohee.

Right now, I didn’t particularly feel like eating anything.

“Sohee, do you want any snacks?”

“Snacks?”

“Ellie said she would buy some.”

“Umm… I’m not craving any right now.”

In that case, whatever.

I nodded and responded into the phone.

“Nothing in particular.”

[Okay then. I’ll be back soon, so don’t go to sleep again.]

With that, my call with Ellie ended.

Seriously… Maintaining that tone even outside—Ellie must be living in Deron mode or something.

I shook my head and let out a sigh.

“Aren’t we going out?”

“Yeah. Ellie will be back soon.”

Well, it seems Sohee caught a hint of what I said over the phone.

She smiled contentedly and plopped herself back down on the bed.

Then, she patted the space next to her.

A signal for me to come sit there.

But I shook my head and turned away.

The time was 9:10 PM.

All qualifying rounds were over, and it was time for the main matchup announcements.

“Hayun…”

Ignoring Sohee’s sulky voice behind me.

Shouldn’t I check first?

I picked up the documents on the table and checked the address.

Then, I accessed the relevant site via my phone.

As soon as I logged in, a popup appeared.

An announcement that the qualifying rounds had ended and that videos of the qualifying matches could be viewed.

I rubbed my chin and leaped back onto the bed.

Could they really have saved the match videos from the qualifying round?

Sohee’s judgment was right. If I had participated in the match earlier, my strategy would have been exposed to others.

Of course, even knowing it wouldn’t guarantee they could beat me.

“What are you up to?”

“Just checking the matchups and watching the match videos.”

“Is there someone you’re concerned about?”

“No? Just curious about how the skills of average middle and high schoolers are.”

Of course, I should be curious. The people around me generally play games quite well.

Not to mention Ellie and Hwarang, plus Sohee also had considerable skill.

Even the senior Seongsin from the VR Game Club had skills that far exceeded the average person.

My sitting posture was uncomfortable.

Laying on my stomach on the bed, I started tapping on my phone screen.

The first thing I checked was the matchups.

The name of the school we would be fighting against first was Gangil High School.

As I tapped on that school’s name, videos of today’s matches started popping up one after another.

Just as I was about to focus on the videos, Sohee, who had been watching behind me, laid down right on top of me.

It wasn’t heavy. Sohee was propping herself up with her arms and legs stretched out to the side.

But the weight of her large chest pressing down on my head began to make itself felt.

“Sohee…?”

“I want to watch with you too.”

“That…”

I mean, it’s great that you want to watch together, but did we really have to be in this position?

I awkwardly chuckled, unable to turn my head.

The weight pushing down on my head was making it impossible to move.

“Is it heavy?”

“No, it’s not heavy.”

I hurriedly replied to Sohee’s question.

Girls are particularly sensitive to weight. Even if it were heavy, it’s wise to claim it’s not.

Sure enough, I could hear Sohee giggling behind me.

“Then should I lean into you a bit more?”

“Ah, sure. As much as you want.”

As soon as I finished speaking, the weight on my body began to increase.

A heavy pressure weighed down on my waist.

It was undeniably Sohee’s rear and thighs.

At that moment, I realized how embarrassing this position was.

Thank goodness it was just Sohee and me in this room. If Ellie or Seongsin had been here, they surely would have gazed at us suspiciously for a long time.

“Um, Sohee…”

“Yeah?”

“Why are you smiling like that?”

“Am I… laughing? Me?”

“Yeah…”

I nodded in response to Sohee’s question.

Though I couldn’t turn my head because of the weight on it, I could see Sohee’s figure reflected in the large window.

Sohee, riding me like a blanket with her big chest and rear.

Of course, she wasn’t resting all her weight on me, but…

Yet, her faint smile looked somewhat mischievous.

Following my gaze, Sohee turned her head and finally nodded, mouth agape in surprise.

“Sorry… did it look weird?”

“Ah, no, not really…”

“I’m just so happy to be playing with Hayun that I unconsciously laughed.”

“Oh…”

Wait, I almost pointed out that it was strange she was laughing.

Sohee, looking down at me with her usual smile, reached out and tapped on the phone I was holding.

“What are we going to watch first?”

“Ah, that one. The one at the top.”

“This one?”

Tap—

Sohee’s long finger tapped the screen of the phone.

Immediately, a video came up.

It contained the match footage of the rival team we would face tomorrow.

The deathmatch video was no longer than two minutes.

Considering each round was of short duration, it didn’t take long to run through all the videos.

I raised my head slightly and spoke up.

“Sohee.”

“Yes?”

“Isn’t this uncomfortable? It seems like it would be easier to watch from the side.”

I wasn’t sure about fully resting her weight on me, but it did seem like it was tough for Sohee, who was balancing on her arms and knees.

I could see her reflection in the window—her face was blushing red.

Her arms beside me were also trembling slightly.

It was clear Sohee was struggling.

“No, I find this position comfortable.”

“It looks exhausting, though?”

“I’m not tired.”

I looked at her with concern.

What if she ended up collapsing onto me, unable to hold herself up anymore?

If that happened, Sohee’s big chest would crush my head mercilessly, and I might end up face-first in the blanket.

“Hmm…”

“Let’s hurry up to the next one.”

“Ah. Sure.”

But contrary to what Sohee said, the longer things went on, the more straining it became for her.

Shaking arms, flushed cheeks, and hurried breath.

Being so close to her, I could sense everything.

“If you’re tired, you can come down…”

“I’m not tired…!”

“But your face is red…?”

“I’m just hot… it’s because I’m hot.”

In the end, Sohee didn’t come down until Ellie arrived.

What was she thinking, insisting on this position?

I couldn’t understand that aspect of high school girls at all.
