Your Commander-in-Chief – Chapter 64

Yeo.

If you’re a player of Deron, you’ve probably heard this nickname at least once.

Being such a famous figure, there were plenty of users curious about her identity.

As famous as she is, her guild, the Soft & Chewy Cow Guild, also garnered great interest.

Thus, stories related to that guild often popped up on community sites associated with Deron.

[Deron Online Gallery]

[When will there be photos of the guild leader?!] [8]

(Yeo flapping her demon wings in a gif)

Wasn’t today the day of the middle school girls’ guild gathering?

Why isn’t there any post about it???

[Comment]

[Why are you curious about the guild gathering of a bunch of kids?]

ㄴ[Can’t I be curious?]

ㄴ[Aren’t you the guild leader?]

ㄴ[No, idiot.]

[A friend’s words said they had a fun time and parted ways.]

ㄴ[Then why aren’t there any photos of the middle school girls?]

ㄴ[They said they didn’t take any photos.]

ㄴ[Ah;;;]

The stories about the Soft & Chewy Cow Guild’s gathering were certainly intriguing enough to catch users’ attention, but the forum users intentionally ignored the topic. Those who posted new threads about it often received harsh comments in return.

It’s true that a user named Yeo built an amazing reputation in the Deron gallery, but she wasn’t part of the gallery, and neither was her guild a part of it.

Of course, the topic did not completely fade away. Some users shared anecdotes they heard through acquaintances belonging to the Soft & Chewy Cow Guild.

[Post gathering review of the Soft & Chewy Cow Guild] [15]

About 17 people showed up at the meeting place.

Guild leader Yeo was a 15-year-old middle school girl who looked just like her character in Deron.

According to a friend, everyone forgot the details because of how memorable the guild leader was.

They arrived at the meeting place and headed straight to a restaurant, which they had rented out for themselves.

They didn’t reveal the name, though.

After they entered, some guys in black suits came out and started controlling access to the restaurant, but if you search online, you might find that story.

That was all the information I could gather.

[Isn’t this made up? lol]

ㄴ[I heard it from a friend too.]

[A middle school girl rented out a restaurant and even called in guys in black suits, huh?]

ㄴ[That’s what they say.]

ㄴ[What do you mean “that’s what they say,” you crazy person? I have a dog that brings me cola when I push a button.]

[Can you recommend an anime with this kind of story? lol]

ㄴ[I’m drooling, lol, I’m going to watch it right away, lol.]

[Do you actually believe this?]

ㄴ[For real, if you hear what this guy usually says, he’s definitely not a middle school girl.]

[Why post about the gathering of a bunch of kids?]

ㄴ[They asked me to upload it.]

ㄴ[You guys go make your own thread or something.]

They couldn’t believe it. It’s only natural that they found it hard to believe. Most of the stories popping up were tales heard through acquaintances, and there were no photos to prove Yeo’s identity.

Because of this, gallery users had no choice but to dismiss the posts about the gathering as mere attention-seeking antics.

[So let’s summarize the middle school girl Blood Demon story.] [20]

A 15-year-old golden spoon current beautiful middle school girl rents out an expensive restaurant for her guild members, bringing in folks to guard it so no one could get close, has impressive game skills to the point of wrecking VRS pros in the arena, loves guys with big wings, possesses the unique Demon Sword in the server, and has to log off at 10 PM because of the shutdown law…

Is all of this not just a setup but actually real?

What a load of nonsense, lol, this is so funny, lol!!!

[Comment]

[There are so many settings, lol.]

ㄴ[There are a lot of things missing.]

ㄴ[Is there more?]

ㄴ[There are also need to include achievements from two raid per kills, lol.]

ㄴ[They’re the leaders of a guild alliance with over a thousand members, lol.]

[So when is the anime airing???]

ㄴ[I heard it’s airing next year.]

[Isn’t everything except a few of these facts true?]

ㄴ[Aren’t they all true?]

[It does seem like she’s a real active middle school girl, don’t you sometimes see posts saying you went to the same middle school?]

ㄴ[Wasn’t that an unproven rumor? The posts get deleted quickly anyway.]

ㄴ[If it was just a regular rumor, they wouldn’t have a reason to delete it.]

ㄴ[Hey… If they find out Yeo’s real identity, won’t she sink to the bottom of the sea?]

More stories continued to appear, but, as always, there were no authentic photos.

And so, the gallery topic slowly drifted into another subject, just like always.

*

Today as well, while casually logging into the game to continue farming, I noticed something odd while checking out the dynamics of the rival guilds from time to time by looking up their information.

The leader of the Singsing guild had changed.

[Yerin]

That was the nickname of the master of Singsing.

But now it had changed to another user’s name.

Well, it made sense for that to happen. Since Yerin had hit level 18, it was only natural.

Even when there were troubles with the Singsing guild, their leader Yerin never logged in once.

There were rumors of personal issues, but it seemed she returned recently and handed over the guild master position.

Curious about the user named Yerin, I immediately searched for that user.

[Guardian of Lunaris]

[ ]

[Yerin]

Level 20

A simple information panel about the user popped up.

Her title, guild, and nickname were displayed in order.

Seeing the guild field empty, it seemed she had left the guild without joining another.

But her level was up.

I had been checking the information about that user regularly, so I remembered Yerin as a level 18 user.

It could have been another user with the same nickname, but since I had watched her several times before, I even remembered her personal ID.

This user was undoubtedly the former guild master of Singsing.

Did she leave the guild to play solo?

Judging by her level up, it seemed she started playing the game again.

I wrote a 1:1 message to Iyap.

Yeo – [Iyap, is there something going on with the Singsing guild?]

Iyap – [Ah, Yeo, I was actually going to tell you about that.]

Iyap. He was the one I had directly put in charge of the guild.

Despite having participated in the guild gathering to see my true self, he maintained a respectful distance towards me.

He was also a person with tremendous connections in Deron.

Whether it was enemies or allies, if I asked him about any user, detailed information would come right out.

Yeo – [What happened?]

Iyap – [Do you know the user named Yerin? She was the former Singsing guild master, but she hasn’t been able to log in for quite a while due to personal issues.]

Yeo – [Yeah, I know her.]

Iyap – [It seems that after she recently returned, there was some argument with the management over how to run the guild.]

I checked Iyap’s message while sitting on a nearby large rock.

There’s no way that wouldn’t happen. The existing management must have done their best to lead the guild while the guild master was absent.

If under such circumstances, the suddenly returned guild master started questioning their operational guidelines, I would have gotten angry too.

Yeo – [So she left?]

Iyap – [Yeah, it seems that all the people who started playing with Yerin left the guild as well. Because of that, the Singsing alliance is currently attacking them, calling them traitors.]

Yeo – [Even those who left?]

Iyap – [Yeah, they say they’re following them around and disrupting their hunts.]

Yeo – [You must have a reason for bringing this up, right?]

What I asked about wasn’t the latest news about Yerin. I had just inquired about what was happening with Singsing.

There must be a reason for Iyap to provide unsolicited information about Yerin.

Iyap – [That’s right. Yerin contacted me.]

Yeo – [What did she say?]

Iyap – [She asked us to accept them back.]

Yeo – [What do you think, Iyap? Do you think we should accept them?]

Iyap – [I think it would be good to accept them. But that’s just my personal opinion.]

Yeo – [What about the other alliances?]

Iyap – [I haven’t heard them say anything about it yet. The reason she contacted me was simply because of our personal relationship and because she was cautious.]

Yeo – [How many people did Yerin ask to let back in?]

Iyap – [There are two others besides Yerin.]

Three in total.

There was plenty of room in the guild to accommodate them.

However, they were people I’d have to think twice about accepting just based on what Iyap said.

I needed to see them with my own eyes.

Yeo – [Let’s meet and talk about it directly.]

Iyap – [Where should we set the meeting?]

Yeo – [We need to see their skills. It’s best to meet near a level 20 elite hunting ground.]

Iyap – [Then the nearest Red Orc stronghold would be a good choice.]

Yeo – [Let’s meet there.]

I sprang up from my spot, arms wide open.

Suddenly, a large magical formation appeared before me, and a tiny hellfire horse sprang forth.

“Neigh!”

It was a hellfire horse all ablaze.

“Let’s go!”

The moment I climbed onto the hellfire horse, it took off at an incredible speed.

Though it looked small, its speed was astonishing.

Clip-clop, clip-clop, clip-clop—

Riding hard, I arrived at the promised location.

There, four users were standing.

[Yerin], [Iyap], [Lavin], and [Aldehab].

There was someone I hadn’t seen before. I needed to show off my cool side.

I galloped up to them, then leapt off my mount in style.

As I kicked off the horse, it vanished, and my black cloak billowed behind me.

Thud—

Landing lightly on the ground, Iyap next to me clapped his hands.

“Hello?”

Yerin was indeed a female character, fitting her feminine nickname.

The tall, muscular healer looked down at me with a bewildered expression.

“Oh, um, hello…”

Her voice was weak.

I smiled back at Yerin’s softly spoken words.

“You want to join our guild, right?”

“Yes, that’s right.”

“You’re aware of our guild’s current status with the Singsing guild, right?”

“Yes, I know…”

“You’re not trying to join us as a spy, are you?”

“I-I would never do that!”

Yerin startledly waved her hands in denial at my question.

I checked the users standing behind her.

[Lavin] and [Aldehab].

Both were users I recognized well from battles.

They were players I had fought alongside directly.

They seemed to be capable players.

“Are you two friends who played with Yerin?”

“Yeah, we started with Yerin unnie, but… well, it got to this point…”

Lavin and Aldehab exchanged awkward smiles as they looked at Yerin.

Given how they were acting, it indeed seemed like they were part of Yerin’s crew.

I nodded and manipulated the floating system in the air.

Then a flag came fluttering down from the sky.

Bam!

“I know both of your skills well, but I don’t know Yerin’s yet. Let’s have a quick duel.”

“What…? My level is only 20…”

“I won’t use skills, and all stats will be equal.”

“Then… um…”

Yerin finally nodded and drew her sword.

Seeing the shimmering moonlight glinting off it, it looked like the Moon’s Blessing weapon I used to wear.

Before the duel began, I drew my sword as well.

Swish—

Zzzh—

The moment the Demon Sword was drawn, dark lightning faintly spread along the blade.
