After the first try, we started to align our opinions within the party members.
The problem was the two Patchwork Giants. If we took one down first, the other one would become way too strong.
So, we had to go for taking down both at the same time.
It didn’t feel like there were particularly difficult patterns.
The party members seemed to feel the same, as they weren’t under any significant pressure.
After a short maintenance break, we began the assault again.
Everyone calmly repeated the same situation as before.
Dealing damage, dodging patterns, and taking out the summoned giant plague rats.
One wizard did die in the process from exposure to the plague, but that was fine.
The healers had more than enough time to cast resurrection.
With the party stabilized again, the Giant’s patterns began once more.
The plague also split into three branches, speeding up.
The dealers in our party started to target the Patchwork Giants as we had discussed beforehand.
Just as the first Giant’s health dropped to 5%, I shouted urgently.
“Cut damages! Focus on the next Giant!”
Everyone was focused. No mistakes were made.
As the second Giant’s health dropped to around 5%, the sub-tanker beside me pulled the other Patchwork Giant over.
“Dealers, use your area attacks!”
The two Patchwork Giants, each with about 5% health left, couldn’t withstand the wizards’ area attacks.
As massive meteors and ice chunks fell, they melted away in an instant.
In the moment I was watching the remnants of the fallen flesh, the meat chunks on the ground started to converge towards one spot.
“Ah!”
I let out a short scream. The direction the chunks were heading was towards [Zealot Jack Heilow], facing the main tanker, Dogrik.
My ominous premonition was spot on. The flesh chunks absorbed into Jack Heilow turned him into an even larger and more wicked giant.
[Kraaaak!]
The rough roar of Jack Heilow, now a Patchwork Giant.
He relentlessly battered Dogrik’s shield that stood in his way.
The main tank’s health was swinging wildly. The healers’ expressions turned urgent.
“Sub-tanker, standby next to him! Be ready to take the aggro immediately if he dies!”
I couldn’t believe such a pattern was hidden away.
Biting my lip, I began to swing my sword at the now-massive back of Jack Heilow.
Thud! Thud! Thud!
As it was striking the main tank’s shield with those giant arms, it suddenly whipped its waist around and smashed the melee dealers attacking it.
Bam!
It was a powerful shock. The thieves caught off guard were all flattened, while only the dealers who dodged or deflected the blow with their weapons survived.
I survived too, but my health was quite low.
However, I wouldn’t back down; the Demon Lord’s skills had leeching capabilities.
The more I hit, the quicker my health rose.
That was when it happened. A sickening crunch sounded, and the main tank was flattened beneath a massive fist.
The main tank was dead. I immediately shouted.
“Sub-tank, take aggro!”
Thanks to the sub-tank who had been standing by, he grasped the aggro at just the right moment.
An icon indicating the use of a provocation skill appeared above the boss’s head.
“Focus, healers!”
As long as we could hold on, we could take it down. That’s if we could hold on.
The sub-tank’s health was also wildly swinging. A small heal wasn’t going to be effective at all.
Even using the tank’s special survival skill only allowed him to hold on for a brief moment. The moment that skill ended, his health was in shambles.
A shower of heals poured into the tank whose health was at rock bottom.
It was already way over the maximum healing capacity, but it didn’t stop. We didn’t know when health would get depleted again.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Crack!
Once again, the massive fist crushed the tank’s body flat.
“Next up, sub-tank!”
But it’s okay. We still had one more tank left.
As we continued to deal damage, just as Jack Heilow’s health dropped to 10%…
Boom! Boom! Boom! A strange sound mixed into it.
Crack!
Now even the last tank was dead.
The moment I realized that, time seemed to slow down. All the tanks were down. What if I had tanked?
It would have been a bit different. No, it would have been very different, I was sure.
But it was too late for regrets.
The giant’s body roughly turned around.
That massive form and the human arms stretching out in all directions lurched grotesquely.
For a very brief moment, I thought of a way to clear it.
“Tankers, use Resurrection right now!”
The resurrection skill has a lengthy casting time. It’s a great skill that can save one life with 10 seconds of investment, but it would be a massive loss for the healers responsible for the team’s health to do nothing for those 10 seconds.
But right now, no one could receive the healers’ heals.
“Melee! Please grab the boss’ aggro for even one second!”
The boss only had 10% health left. Even if all the melee dealers died, as long as the surviving ranged dealers continued their assault, we could take it down.
The number of surviving melee dealers was only four, including me.
If we could just hold for over 2 seconds each, we could save one tanker and clear it.
The thieves charged in first.
They didn’t care for themselves and unleashed their strongest skills, snatching the Giant’s aggro.
But they could only withstand it for about a second. The thief users were quickly flattened by the rapidly swinging attacks.
“Hyah!”
Next up was Yerin, who stood in front.
Wielding a great sword just like me, she tried to slice through the Giant’s flesh, but the Giant attacked with ruthless speed.
Dodging and blocking, she was still crushed by the Giant’s incredible speed, which didn’t match its massive body.
Jack Heilow’s remaining health was at 7%.
Now, I was the only melee dealer left.
My vision narrowed. The moment I entered a state of extreme focus, a sharp, white pain struck my head.
[Awakening]
I maximized my speed by using all the skills I could.
I didn’t forget to wear my wings.
As I dodged the rapidly swinging arms of the giant, I swung my sword.
Swish- Swish- Swish-
As if flowing water, my blade sliced through the Giant’s flesh. The green blood splashing everywhere caused me to become poisoned, but I didn’t care.
I couldn’t use skills. Using one would fix my movement. That meant I wouldn’t be able to dodge the Giant’s attacks.
Once more, I twisted my body to forcibly evade the attack. My body swayed from the shock of hitting the floor, but I finally plunged my sword in.
A heavy sensation registered at the tip of my fingers, and in that moment, I received an unexpected, massive shock from a direction I didn’t anticipate.
Thud-!
My vision shook widely. The instant I recognized that I had been attacked, the Giant’s next attack followed.
I lost my stance, but there was no time to recover.
Boom!
But I held on. My body didn’t collapse. My gaze was still fixed on the Giant.
[Combat Continuation] The Berserker’s skill activates. Receiving fatal damage triggers the [Immortal] skill, fixing my HP to 1 for 3 seconds.
There was no need to dodge. I charged forward with only the offense in mind.
My grip on the sword changed. Although my body shook again from the Giant’s attacks, my sword coiled around the Giant’s arm and sliced its neck.
Swish!
Jack Heilow’s remaining health was at 4%.
Just as I was about to swing my sword again, the Giant’s leg kicked my body away.
If I went flying, that would be it. I needed to approach again before the Immortal effect wore off.
The moment I realized, my body was moving. Using the [Charge] skill.
As soon as I activated it, blue mana enveloped my body. I had to hold on to the boss for at least 1 more second.
I had to stab my sword in again, even just once more.
Thud!
My unstoppable body slammed against the Giant’s leg, shaking it greatly. But I didn’t fly away. I held on.
Swish-!
I swung my sword to slice the leg, but I was beginning to run out of strength.
My vision was also rapidly tinged gray.
My health was showing 0.
My body collapsed and became unresponsive.
The Giant, looking down at me, turned and began to charge towards its next target.
But.
We won.
Paaah-!
The moment the healers completed their casting, all the tanks who had been lying on the ground rose again.
“Uwooaaargh!”
The resurrected tanks all charged at the Giant without waiting for anyone else.
Just hold on for a tiny bit longer, and we’d clear.
As the healers were all alive, there would be no problem.
With a roar from the main tank, Dogrik, the Giant turned its focus back to him.
Dogrik, holding a massive shield in front of him, successfully blocked all attacks.
At that moment, Helena’s Time Acceleration was used once again.
In an instant, the casting speed of the mages and warlocks became incredibly short, raining down countless spells on the Giant.
Boom boom boom boom!
The effects of fire and ice mixed as they struck the Giant’s body, causing it to finally collapse.
Thud!
That was the moment when our first Named Monster’s assault successfully ended.
The priests began to resurrect the fallen dealers.
I was also cast for resurrection.
I didn’t let my guard down.
The moment I came back to life, I opened my costume window to immediately unequip my wings.
With the typical sparkling effect of resurrection, the wings disappeared.
As everyone was resurrected, the party members’ gazes turned towards me.
I had just defeated the first Named Monster from the newly added raid.
Naturally, everyone was curious about the dropped items.
I approached the corpse of the Giant to check the items.

A necklace suited for warriors and a medal suitable for robe-type classes had dropped.
While the necklace didn’t have any special options, the base stats attached were incredibly high.
I looked at the necklace, licking my lips.
I had been wearing the 25-level Heart of the Protector for too long.
I needed a new necklace too.
There was a new feature added in this expansion.
It was the automatic auction system.
Items dropped in raids would be distributed automatically by the system without going through the party leader.
This auction proceeded in that manner as well.
The first item auctioned was [Jack Heilow’s Faith].
The moment the auction started, Helena bid 1,500 gold.
Everyone hesitated, but no one followed.
Next up was [Heart of the Patchwork Giant].
I too started off by bidding 1,500 gold.
Yerin bid 1,600 gold, but I immediately upped it to 2,000 gold.
Everyone must know by now that I had been using a 25-level necklace.
Yerin pondered for a moment before nodding and backing off.
Thus, I obtained the new necklace.
