Your Commander-in-Chief – Chapter 91

About two months had passed since the raid had officially been broken through.

An announcement was posted on Deron’s website to inform about the upcoming updates.

[Client Update Notice]

Hello, adventurers!

An update for Deron Online is scheduled to take place on April 5th (Wednesday).

A new sailing system is being introduced.

From now on, adventurers will be able to explore the vast oceans.

In the newly added port village [Hurston], you can craft your own personal ship, and in future updates, higher-grade ships may be added.

A new currency, Maritime Coins, will be introduced.

Maritime currency, [Maritime Coins], used in sailing and maritime areas, will be added.

This currency cannot be traded between users and can be purchased with gold at the land-based currency exchange.

A new local specialty trading system is being introduced.

Local specialty items will be added to both land and maritime areas.

When selling these specialty items to regions that want them, you can earn special rewards.

A new maritime battle system is being introduced.

Maritime areas, unlike land, are regions where no laws exist.

Once you leave the safety zone, you will enter a forced PVP state, and all PVP penalties will disappear.

If you manage to capture an opponent’s ship through PVP, the [Plunder] function will be activated.

If you attempt plunder, a 12-hour [Bounty] debuff will be applied, and you will be unable to use any NPC functions on land.

If you die on land while under the [Bounty] debuff, you will respawn in jail.

A new treasure island conquest system is being introduced.

[Treasure Island]

Entry Restriction:

Level: 60

30 Maritime Coins

Pirates invite you, adventurers.

Once you enter the Treasure Island using Maritime Coins, everyone’s appearance will be changed to that of a masked pirate, making it impossible to recognize each other.

Additionally, due to the magic of the Treasure Island, adventurers’ abilities will be restricted.

[Magic of the Treasure Island]

Unable to use any chat systems.

Cannot write 1:1 messages.

Party system disabled.

A new raid boss monster, the Sea God Kraken, is being introduced.

No one knows when or where the Kraken will appear.

Update day.

A massive crowd was flocking to Lunaris Capital City.

Thanks to the advertisement of the new update and the surge in popularity due to the global server, new users were pouring in.

Deron had set up a level 40 jumping character event to coincide with the influx of new users.

Level 40 players were swarming everywhere.

But my attention was not on the newbies.

Even with abundant support and concentrated care, those who would disappear would disappear.

I disliked newbies. No, to be specific, I disliked those who hid behind the name “newbie” and took all the support for granted.

“Come out!”

Only those who are worth it will stay. Finding new guild members can wait until then.

I summoned a magnificent Hell Wolf.

Newbies had never seen such a mount, so they all began to marvel at my wolf.

“Woof.”

“Wow…”

“Looks like there’s a puppy pet too?”

“Isn’t it a wolf?”

“Kind of small for a wolf, though?”

Ignoring the envious gazes of the newbies, I mounted the wolf.

I had to go enjoy the new content.

“Let’s go!”

“Woof!”

Tack-tack-tack-tack-

I started running with the wolf. As the new areas always didn’t have warp points marked, I had to run there myself.

Since I logged in after school, my start was slow. Other players said they had already crafted and launched their ships.

While riding the wolf, I began purchasing wood and stone.

These were basic materials needed for shipbuilding.

After quite a while of running, I finally arrived at the port village [Hurston].

Creeeak- Creeeak- Creeeak-

The refreshing sea breeze carried the cries of seagulls.

There was a salty scent.

As I felt that unique smell of the coast, I entered the village.

Inside, many users were bustling about.

I was focused on creating a ship first.

A very large and splendid ship, indeed.

Tack-tack-tack-

I directed the wolf toward the shipbuilding NPC.

“Hmm, are you interested in shipbuilding?”

“Yes!!!”

I answered energetically.

Then, a ship crafting system appeared before my eyes.

There were various types of ships I could craft.

From the smallest and cheapest ships to incredibly large and expensive ones.

My goal, of course, was the biggest and most expensive ship.

However, the required materials for the ship were way too much.

I frowned and opened the auction house.

Most of the materials required for shipbuilding could be obtained through the auction house.

But the materials were forming prices higher than average bidding prices.

It was due to logging in late because of school.

But what can I do? I can’t go mining for all these materials.

I started to spend the gold I had saved up by selling my orc rings.

Most of my gold was used for bidding on raid equipment, yet there was still a decent amount left.

I began sweeping up many materials such as lacking stone and wood, silk, iron ingots, and that shook the auction house prices.

I ended up spending 15,000 gold.

If I had started gathering materials right after the update, I could have saved about 5,000 gold.

I had gathered all the materials needed to craft the ship, but the gold amount in my inventory was scraping the bottom.

It seemed I’d have to sell the rest of my orc warrior’s rings.

But firstly, shipbuilding was my priority.

I approached the shipbuilding NPC once more and pressed the button to craft the highest grade ship.

After a waiting period of about 10 seconds, a small model ship appeared in my inventory.

[Black Leviathan Ship]

Unique

Level Requirement: 60

“What the…”

It clearly stated that I was crafting an enormous ship, yet what I got was just a tiny model ship.

Could it be that I was scammed by the NPC?

I furrowed my brows, glaring at the chubby NPC.

At the periphery of my gaze, a blurry hologram floated over the vast blue sea.

The hologram depicted the shape of a grand ship, as if I could install the crafted ship there.

With a feeling of disbelief, I held the model ship in front of me and moved it around.

Then, the blurry hologram sharpened, and a message appeared before me.

[Would you like to install the ship?]

The moment I pressed the YES button, the tiny model ship disappeared from my hand, and a gigantic ship appeared on the sea.

“O-oh…!”

The ship that materialized before me was massive.

With a sleek black body and a statue of a magnificent dragon at the front.

I nodded while looking over the ship management menu that floated before me.

It was worth the hefty gold I paid for crafting the highest-grade ship.

The maximum capacity was 200 people. I could fit all my guild members on this ship.

I urged the wolf up onto the ship.

The deck was quite spacious.

There was enough room for me to run around freely.

I hurriedly messaged Helena.

I wanted to boast since I had created such a splendid ship.

Yeo-[Helena!]

Helena-[Yeah]

Yeo-[What are you doing?]

Helena-[I just logged in and I’m at the capital.]

Yeo-[I made an amazing ship! Hurry to the port city.]

Helena-[A ship?]

Yeo-[Yeah, hurry.]

After how long had passed since that message was cut off?

As I was sitting on the ship’s edge, time drifted by, and I began to see a familiar silhouette coming from afar.

A red-robed wizard riding atop a giant Hellfire Horse.

It was Helena.

I started waving at her from the ship.

Then she sped up and effortlessly approached with her steed.

To board another user’s ship, the owner’s permission was necessary.

I changed the user limit to guild members and friends for boarding.

Helena boarded the ship.

“How is it? Pretty cool, right?”

I spread my arms wide, boasting to Helena.

What do you think? My ship is quite amazing, right?

It was the highest grade ship currently obtainable.

It didn’t shrink like the Hell Wolf or the Hellfire Horse.

“What are you going to do with such a large ship?”

“What do you mean? Of course, I’m going to become a pirate.”

“A pirate…?”

“Yeah. Since the ocean has been added and maritime battles are here, with no PVP penalties, naturally I have to become a pirate.”

“Is that really the norm?”

“Of course!”

It seemed that the current middle-school girl couldn’t understand this sentiment.

Every man has imagined at least once becoming a magnificent pirate.

I dashed to the bow and climbed up the statue.

“The wind is perfect… today is a great day for sailing.”

I pulled out the guild summon order item from my inventory.

With a splendid ship and a very cool and charismatic captain ready, it was time to fill the rest of the crew.

“Summoning the guild members?”

“Yup. We need sailors.”

“But everyone is probably busy doing their own things.”

“Just tell the ones who want to be pirates to come.”

With that said, I started typing in the guild chat.

Yeo-[Anyone who wants to become a pirate, receive the guild summon order. It’s okay if you’re busy and don’t receive it.]

Snow Mage-[???]

Iyap-[Did the guild leader change concepts again?]

I took out the pirate hat I had obtained from the last event from my cosplay window and put it on.

The wide-brimmed black hat had a skull mark embroidered in the center.

“Come out!”

As I used the summon order in my hand, numerous beams of light fell around me, and guild members began to emerge.

80 people responded to the summon.

That was enough for two raid parties. Just right.

“Whoa, wait. Did you get a ship? Isn’t this the best one?”

I guess it’s because he shares blood with me, but the Hwarang immediately recognized the ship’s coolness.

Watching him admire the ship around was very satisfying.

“It looks like the guild leader is playing pirate today.”

“I heard that pirate cartoons are trending among middle school girls these days.”

“Everyone focus!”

I clapped my hands to gather the guild members’ attention.

Having checked various settings for the ship and how to operate it, I was all set to sail.

“Today, you all become pirates!”

We raised the anchor and unfurled the sails. Thanks to the system assistance, operating the ship was no problem as long as I steered it.

Flap!

The sails, which were fiercely unfurled, had our guild mark of a speckled cow face branded on it.

It was a mark updated from a recent feature.

“Set sail!”
