Right after being taken down by an unidentified giant monster, I resurrected on Turtle Island.
It seemed that if you died at sea, you revived on the nearest island.
I frowned. The Black Leviathan Ship, the most expensive and highest-grade vessel, couldn’t withstand its attack.
“Did you see that thing underwater?”
“There was something squid-like wriggling around, but it was too deep to see clearly.”
“Isn’t this the newly added Kraken raid?”
I pondered as I listened to the guild members’ conversation. Based on what they said, the creature that just revealed itself was most likely the Sea God Kraken.
All the raid boss monsters that had appeared in Deron so far were easily taken down by 40 party members swarming and beating them up.
But this one was different. The crew members from our ship, combined with those aboard the vessel it attacked, amounted to nearly 120 people who had been taken down.
Even 120 wasn’t enough. It meant we needed more people.
I hurriedly assessed the status of the Black Leviathan Ship.
Wreckage of the completely smashed model ship had been tucked into the corner of my inventory.
As I placed my hand on it, a message popped up indicating I could repair it with Maritime Coins.
I quickly covered the shortfall of Maritime Coins with Gold and finished the repairs immediately.
If we were short on personnel, we just needed to summon more.
I quickly drafted a message to all the alliance guild leaders.
It wasn’t just them. I needed to summon all the Malang Jjeon Deok guild members as well.
“Yeo – [We’re starting a new field boss raid. If anyone has a ship, please respond to the summon order right now. It’s okay if you don’t. Come anyway.]”
I confirmed the creature’s appearance. A rough strategy began to form in my mind.
The chain hook skill I used when playing pirate. That wasn’t just a technique for piracy.
It was a skill to be used against the Sea God Kraken, that massive creature.
We needed a lot of ships. Not just a lot—immense numbers of ships.
The number of guild members currently online was about 150.
I immediately used the summon order.
Initially, 80 people responded to the summon when we played pirate games, but now it was more than that.
Boom!
Columns of light fell from the sky. Additional members began to fly towards Turtle Island.
The number of guild members was steadily increasing. I turned to them and said:
“If you own a large ship, please gather to the right.”
From those recently resurrected guild members to those who had just flown in with the summon order, everyone followed my instructions well.
The number of individuals possessing large vessels was 40.
At that moment, I spotted dozens of ships on the very edge of the horizon.
Though they were far away, the guild mark was clear enough to identify.
On a black background was the white letter R.
It was the guild mark of the Requiem guild, our allied guild.
The Requiem guild, leading dozens of ships, advanced straight towards Turtle Island.
Not long after Requiem arrived, other allied guilds began to show up as well.
[Requiem]
This is insane.

All alliance members had arrived.
The masters of each guild stepped off their ships and approached me.
“It’s been a while since we gathered like this.”
“We should do it more often. What’s the point of just being an alliance? Wouldn’t it be better to stick together during fights?”
“Is our Blood Demon King a bit tall?”
They all approached with a friendly vibe.
I took a step back and began explaining about the Sea God Kraken and the strategy I had just observed.
I had already transmitted brief information via message. No lengthy explanations were needed.
“Hmm. So that’s why you needed large ships.”
“How many do you need that you summoned all the alliance guilds?”
“Honestly, I don’t really know how many we need. I haven’t seen the creature up close. But wouldn’t it be better for our alliance to take the spoils rather than let the other side have them?”
“That’s true.”
“Instead of giving it to other alliances or humans, it’s better we keep it for ourselves.”
“Then let’s check the personnel and distribute the parties.”
I began checking the count of large vessels brought by each guild.
If you combine our ships, it was close to 300 vessels.
To use the cannons mounted on those large ships, at least four members had to be on each ship, and we had enough personnel.
It was an alliance of six guilds. The members mixed together and began setting up the raid party.
Preparation for departure was completed in an instant.
Each member started summoning the designated ships to board.
The number of summoned large ships was exceeding 300.
Some users, who were resting inside the island, rushed out to watch us.
“The coordinates have been sent to each guild leader. Follow closely!”
The first to set sail was the insane member of the Requiem guild.
His ship was also the same Black Leviathan Ship as mine.
As we cut through the sea on the Black Leviathan Ship, dozens of ships followed behind.
I turned back and shouted.
“We’re setting sail!”
Sails unfurled, and anchors were raised. Dozens of ships following my order began to move simultaneously.
We swiftly sliced through the ocean. I narrowed my eyes and gazed at the distant sky.
The place where I had died. It was where that creature had dealt me my first defeat as a pirate.
The area of dark clouds wasn’t far from Turtle Island.
We would reach there soon.
The 300 ships began to line up on either side. They were starting to form the simple formation I had mentioned before departure.
Thunder and lightning echoed from the sky, and the sea began to churn.
It was a sign of the Kraken’s impending arrival.
“Everyone, get ready!”
The Kraken’s attack started the moment I finished my shout.
With a violent wave, the rising white tentacle limbs wriggled and wrapped around the nearest ship.
Creeeak—crack!
“Ahhhh!”
“Attack!”
The sound of splintering wood and the screams of the alliance members rang out clearly.
I drew my sword and shouted towards that chaos.
“Attack!!!”
The Kraken pulled its limbs from the sea but didn’t reveal any other parts. That meant we had to draw its body out from the water.
Boom!
With the cannon fire that started from my ship, nearly 300 ships began launching additional cannonballs.
Thousands of cannonballs soared simultaneously, striking the ship ensnared by the white tentacle.
It would be team-killing, but it was fine. The fallen members could be resurrected by the healer.
Boom!
A tremendous roar began to overlap.
And in that moment, amidst the explosive sounds, a gruesome roar echoed.
-■■■!
[The Sea God Kraken is enraged.]
The Kraken revealed itself amidst a message that echoed across the entire world.
It had a look akin to a blend of squid and octopus, with its entire body covered in white skin.
The giant creature’s bright yellow eyes began to recognize its surroundings.
The Kraken revealed itself above the surface of the ocean.
It moved its immense body, with over ten giant tentacle limbs, creating waves.
Dozens of large ships wobbled precariously from the wave attacks.
Now that it fully revealed itself, it was time to strike.
I shouted urgently.
“Now! Fire the chain hooks!”
No sooner had I finished speaking, the Kraken stretched out its ten limbs to grasp new ships.
In a single attack, ten ships began to get shattered.
That was the moment.
Boom!
Whirrrrr!
Hooks connected with thick chains were launched from the ships surrounding the Kraken.
I too used the chain hook launch skill.
Boom! Whirrrrr!
The rapidly flying hooks successfully pierced the Kraken’s body.
It writhed in pain, howling as hooked from all sides.
-■■■!
Lightning struck from the sky, and its massive writhing caused a tide.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Whirrrrr!
The chain hooks that bound the Kraken continued to fire.
Eventually, nearly all 300 ships were able to connect chains to the Kraken’s body.
-■■■!
While the Kraken writhed in agony, its movements visibly slowed.
We had succeeded in immobilizing it.
But the Kraken still had limbs left that could move.
Its ten long, white tentacle limbs.
It began to whip those long limbs like whips, starting to sever the connected chains.
“Block! Attack!”
With a shout filled with urgency, cannonballs flew and exploded.
It seemed the Kraken was negatively impacted by the cannon fire, staggering as it lowered its limbs.
The cannon attack was effective. As if confirming that, other ships began to pour out cannon fire as well.
The assault was proceeding smoothly. The Kraken’s health was depleting rapidly.
But I felt an inexplicable sense of unease.
This creature was classified as a raid boss. This couldn’t possibly be all of its patterns.
In that moment, the Kraken howled towards the heavens.
-■■■!
It was a different, more surreal voice than before.
After the Kraken howled, dark shadows began moving from beneath the sea, revealing new monsters.
Level: 65
[Elite Merfolk]
These creatures, a grotesque mix of fish and humans, began to cling to our ships, swinging their weapons.
They didn’t just attack the ships. Those that climbed aboard began attacking the users on deck.
The deck of the 300 ships swiftly turned into a battlefield.
Our ships were relatively better off.
The Hwarang who boarded with me was shooting bullets into the heads of the crawling monsters, knocking them down.
I bit my lip. If we continued like this, the Kraken might hide back underwater again.
I opened the costume window and swung my legs over the ship’s railing.
Perhaps my action seemed odd, as Helena beside me looked at me with a worried expression.
“Yeo?”
“I’m going to help somewhere else. Keep an eye on the ship.”
It was my time to step up.
“Awakening!!!”
Boom!
A visible black lightning fell from the storm clouds and enveloped my body.
At that instant, I equipped the demon wings I had been preparing.
My horns elongated, my hands turned dark, and long claws grew out.
The pitch-black fur covering my forearms fluttered in the ocean breeze.
My feet had changed as well. The cute little toes had disappeared, replaced by dark demonic feet.
Sharp claws scraped against the railing.
Helena made a pained expression as she looked at my arms and legs.
I smiled lightly and said,
“I’ll be back.”
With that, I kicked off the railing and soared up into the sky. Immediately, I activated the [Flight] skill.
I flew swiftly toward the other ships that needed help.
My gigantic demon wings spread out wide.
