Your Commander-in-Chief – Chapter 95

Using flight, I began to move to another ship and started handling the merfolk.

Each one was a powerful elite monster. A party without a tank seemed to struggle to hold up.

“Ahhhh!”

I slashed at the glistening skin of the merfolk, soaked in rain and seawater.

It didn’t slice cleanly, almost like hitting a tough rubber band with considerable resilience.

Immediately, I twisted the trajectory of my sword and stabbed at its head.

Thud!

“Ugh, thank you!”

A wizard player who had just narrowly avoided being speared by a merfolk rose up and expressed gratitude.

I turned my head and said to him, “Don’t stop firing, and if you have time, please help on the other ship.”

“Yes!”

I quickly scanned around. There were still many ships that seemed to need assistance.

No additional merfolk had appeared since the first.

I hurriedly flew between the ships that needed help.

Of course, I wasn’t the only one with the job of Demon Lord.

As users with jobs that allowed travel between ships scattered to help, the situation quickly stabilized.

Crash!

Right after I pierced down on the last visible merfolk, I turned and used my flight skill.

I was heading back to my ship.

Helena, who didn’t have any flight skills, was hanging off the edge of the ship, staring at me forlornly.

It was just the moment I smiled lightly at Helena.

I felt something flying in from the right.

A large object moving at high speed. The instant I registered it, I moved my sword and activated my counterattack skill.

Boom!

“Yeoona!!!”

With Helena’s scream, my vision shook violently. I succeeded in the counterattack, but my body couldn’t withstand the impact.

Whoosh – My body flew up, spinning rapidly as I began to soar away.

I steadied my vision and narrowed my eyes at the direction from which the attack had come.

Not too far from here, there were other ships besides our alliance’s.

Clank!

Where I landed was on top of a thick chain connected to the Kraken.

Boom! Splash!

It was obvious there were more than a hundred of them.

A tremendous number of ships began bombarding our alliance’s ship.

It seemed I had been hit by the cannonball the moment I moved.

One cannonball took away half my health.

I rubbed my eyes and got back to my feet.

Clang!

The chain felt very unstable. The Kraken was continuously writhing.

On top of that, it was quite slippery due to the rain.

“Enemies!”

“Humans!”

“Counterattack!”

The alliance members hastily began to retaliate against the emergence of enemies, but the ships were still connected to the Kraken.

With the anchor lowered, we couldn’t avoid the attacks.

We were at an absolutely disadvantageous situation.

Boom! Splash!

The human ships quickly moved and started firing, while our alliance members had to endure those attacks.

As the incoming cannon fire quickly began to destroy our ship, the connected chains started to snap one by one.

The breaking of the chains meant that the Kraken’s thrashing would intensify.

Roar!

The massive Kraken continued to thrash about, creating waves.

I gritted my teeth and dashed across the chains.

There was no way out of this situation. We either had to wipe out the enemies or deal with this sea god, the Kraken.

“Everyone – only those firing cannons stay behind, everyone else rush to the Kraken. We’ll deal with it quickly!”

I typed in guild chat and let out a low breath. Riding on the slippery, undulating chains was quite a dangerous task.

But what could I do? There was no alternative.

The guild members began to jump out of the ship without a moment’s hesitation.

Some slipped and fell beneath the ship, but they started to swim toward the Kraken anyway.

I turned to look back.

Helena, Hwarang, Iyap, and Yerin. Everyone who had boarded my ship was running.

What stood out the most among our guild was the Snow Mage. She had frozen the chain she was riding on and was gliding over it.

I sent a message to the guild leaders of the alliance.

“Everyone – like our guild, let’s have only those firing cannons stay put, and everyone else rush in!”

Crazy Guy – “Isn’t that a suicidal act? One hit from the Kraken’s leg might throw everyone off!”

Maple – “The Blood Demon King seems right. If we keep this up, we’re bound to get wiped out by the humans and lose the Kraken.”

Jihak – “What about the dead? I don’t think we can resurrect them in that situation.”

“Money must be spent! Get ready to use the summon orders.”

Evil God – “If anyone is short on summon orders, let me know, and I’ll gift you some right away.”

Turtle – “Oh dear…”

After sending that message, shortly after, the alliance members too began to run across the connected chains.

As close to a thousand people began to run swiftly, the chains started to sway violently.

Boom! Splash!

The human alliance’s attacks continued, but the ships surrounding the Kraken acted as a defensive wall, blocking all incoming fire.

While running quickly across the chains, I jumped into the air. I immediately activated my flight skill since its cooldown had ended.

With enormous demon clan wings spreading wide, I shot toward the Kraken at unstoppable speed.

“Hyahhh!”

I used every possible doping, buff, and debuff.

If I didn’t take down this enormous squid quickly, all these people would end up dead.

I absolutely couldn’t allow that to happen.

Soaring rapidly, I landed on the towering body of the Kraken.

I began to swing my sword relentlessly.

“Die!!!”

Thud! Thud! Thud!

The massive sword wrapped in magic slashed mercilessly at the Kraken’s body.

Right after that, I began to spin my body.

Activating [Wheel Wind] skill.

Blood red energy covered the magic as it began to shred the body of the Kraken.

Slice!

Other alliance members, who arrived late, also began to pour every skill onto the body of the Kraken.

The Kraken’s health, which had been barely diminishing, began to drop rapidly.

In that instant, the Kraken swung its gigantic legs, striking its own body.

Boom!

The Kraken’s body shook violently, causing the connected chains to sway fiercely.

Because of that, those who were making their way over began to fall into the sea.

I then used a summon order I had stored in my inventory.

Flash!

Bang!

All players logged in, except for those handling the cannons, received the summon order.

More than 140 individuals emerged from the radiant columns of light.

“Everyone attack! Resurrect immediately if you die! I’ll keep pulling summon orders! Healers, don’t waste your time healing! Just keep dealing damage!”

The Kraken’s body was terrifyingly huge. Just its size above the water was comparable to a small island.

The late arrivals, Jihak, Turtle, Crazy Guy, Evil God, and Maple.

They, too, began to draw out summons from their inventories.

They started pulling back the players who had fallen into the sea or were already dead flying to the island.

Countless columns of light poured down onto the body of the Kraken.

It was a massive group exceeding a thousand.

They unleashed every skill they had, bombarding the Kraken’s physique.

The pristine squid skin began to peel away, and blue blood started to ooze out.

The Kraken’s health was rapidly plummeting.

It was an immensely large creature. There was no need for precision targeting with long-range skills.

Just shooting skills at the ground would hit the target every time.

Of course, the Kraken didn’t just sit there either. It began to attack the users on top of it with its ten flailing tentacle legs.

Crash! Boom! Crash!

In a frenzied flailing of its tentacles, hundreds of users were swept away.

But the guild leaders promptly used their summon orders again and pulled back the users.

The columns of light never ceased. I kept using the summon order as guild members were swept away.

All of the Kraken’s aggro was focused on the users mounted on its back.

The guild leaders climbed onto a safe chain to observe that situation.

The cycle of death and resurrection continued, and all users emerging from the columns of light began to weaken.

In such a short time, too many resurrected. The resurrection penalty began to kick in.

Had it been the healer’s resurrection skill, there wouldn’t have been a penalty, but there was no time to wait for that long casting time.

Splash!

At this very moment, the attacks from the human alliance were ongoing.

I bit my lip and soared into the sky. The wildly flailing ten tentacles made it difficult to attack.

I had to deal with these tentacles somehow.

I realized after continuously striking the huge body part of the boss that it could be severed.

I needed to utilize the destruction system.

“Hyahhh!”

With a rough shout, I slashed at the pure white tentacle.

In that moment, as if it had been waiting for this, the white tentacle aggressively moved and grasped my body.

It was cold, slippery, and suffocating.

I felt quite annoyed.

The Kraken tightened its hold on its tentacle.

Because of this, my health began to decrease steadily.

“Ugh!”

As I screamed while hanging on the tentacle, the guild members who had been pounding on the Kraken’s body began looking up at me.

“The guild leader is caught in the tentacle!”

“Blood Demon King!!!”

“Captain!!!”

“Just keep dealing damage!!!”

Was there time to watch me?

As I pulled out a potion and glared at my guild members, they bowed their heads and silently continued to pummel the Kraken.

“Hwarang! Helena! Snow! Attack that tentacle!”

I called out the three ranged DPS I could trust the most in the guild.

There was no need for a detailed explanation for them.

The next moment, the skills of the three devils began to rain down on the tentacle clasping me.

The Kraken seemed to feel considerable pain and hurled me away, continuing to grip tightly.

My body floated up, beginning to spin rapidly.

The landing spot was the problem. It was over a vast empty sea.

I couldn’t use my flight skill in this moment because its cooldown had returned.

I had no other choice.

“Come out!”

I summoned my battle wolf from the air.

It was a technique I occasionally used to leap between cliffs, and now was the time to showcase it.

“Arrgh!”

The moment I landed on the back of the summoned wolf, my body was preparing for a charge.

Immediately, the wolf summoned beneath me was jolted, sending my body flying forward.

Whoosh!

Splash!

The wolf fell into the sea, causing the summoning to dissipate.

“Take this!!!”

My soaring body quickly propelled toward the giant Kraken’s eye, crashing into it.

I plunged my magic-wrapped sword into its eyeball.

“Hyahhh!”

Thud!
